LADIES
Name: Liliana Dubois
Age: 21
Gender: Cis Female
Race/Species: Human, French
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Personality: Kind/Cheerful/Optimistic/Thoughtful/Sensitive/Compassionate/Naive/Feisty/Spunky/Romantic/
Lonely/Doesn't complain much/Yearns for friends/Quirky
Likes: Classical Music, baked goods, fresh flowers, the sound of the waves lapping the beach at night, camping, nature walks, road trips with lots of attractions stops, cats, silly souvenir t-shirts, cheesecake, flavored coffee, peppermint, classic rock music and hot chocolate.
Dislikes: Rude people with no concept of manners, judging someone before you know them, cynical people, ugly clothing with no taste in any way, rap music, growling/screaming music, cat/dog haters, beer and spiders.
Powers (If any):
Telepathy- Liliana can hear the surface thoughts of people in close proximity to her. She may also open a line of psychic communication between herself and a willing person.
Stronger minds can feel when Liliana attempts to get inside their heads and may resist her if they have the willpower to do so.
Liliana also possesses the ability to shut herself off from this ability until she chooses to reactivate it. This took most of her teenage years to master.
Precognition- The ability to receive glimpses into the future. This is extremely disorienting and unpleasant to experience, Liliana also has no control whatsoever on the when or where of when these visions happen or the who, what or why of these visions contents.
She cannot shut this off, she's trying researching many methods to do this and none work.
Clairvoyance- The ability to touch an object or person and glimpse snippets of the past that this object or person had been present during. The occurrences of this happening are uncommon, the residual energy must be powerful, intense events (like a murder for example or a traumatic experience) could be enough to imbue objects nearby or embed residual energy in a person's skin with memories of the event.
As with Precognition, Liliana cannot shut this ability off, she has no control over it at all.
Force field: Liliana can create a force field of her own psychic energy around herself to protect her from harm, though she cannot make it any bigger than to allow room only for herself and maybe three people at present and she can only hold it for fifteen minutes, thirty if she really pushes herself. She can hold it indefinitely if the shield is not under attack.
Special Skills: Does being a really good listener count? Oh! She can cook too, mostly French cuisine.
Talents: She can put together a totally hot outfit and do it at bargain prices, you'd never know it didn't cost a fortune.
Brief Backstory:
Liliana was born to parents that took their religious beliefs way, way too far and when it started becoming clear as Liliana neared her ninth birthday that she had psychic abilities: hearing stray thoughts every now and then, telling her mother the neighbor was going to have an accident and then the following day, the neighbor fell down the stairs of her porch and broke her arm... Liliana's mother... well, the woman snapped, she attacked Liliana one evening after apparently deciding enough was enough and she had to do away with 'the evil' she brought into the world...
If Liliana's father hadn't arrived home from work just in the nick of time, Liliana would have been suffocated in her own bed with her favorite pink elephant pillow... instead, her father while disagreeing with murder as a solution, agreed with his wife that Liliana and her tainted filth could not reside under their roof any longer... so she was dumped at the nearest orphanage. A highly religious catholic orphanage at that.
Safe to say... Liliana was largely neglected as much as they could get away with and treated with disdain. This attitude from the staff and nuns did not help Liliana ever get adopted, if fact, she would swear they discouraged people away from her deliberately... Who wanted a devil touched child in their home after all?
The young Liliana kept to herself as she grew up, immersing herself in whatever books she could get her hands on to pass the time and focusing on her education, she was found plenty of books on math, english, history and etc in the library, but she took great pleasure in reading the various cook books. Keeping to herself made living with her powers a little easier too, she could keep it more on the down low and when she didn't have people around, she didn't have to worry about picking up thoughts or whatever, she prefered it when they just left her in peace.
When Liliana turned eighteen, she was quick as a bunny to bid that dreadful orphanage goodbye and start a life of her own, vowing never to allow anyone to ever mistreat her again.

Brief Backstory:
Jade was born the daughter of a famed and well respected martial arts master and retired Samurai, Mitsurugi Hirameki, a man loved and revered in his community for his noble deeds and generous kind nature. No one could have loved him more than his daughter though, Jade adored her father, he always made her believe that she was as good as any son and could be just as great a warrior.
As soon as Jade could walk, her father began training her in the martial arts and the graceful art of the katana blade, she proved as time went on to be quite the little prodigy, picking up everything her father sought to teach her with all the precision of perfectionist and the calm grace of a saint. No father in all of Japan could have been prouder of their child than Mitsurugi.
However, as with many a happy and harmonious beginnings… sometimes it all comes to a screeching halt… and everything beautiful that once was… becomes a horrific nightmare you can never wake up from…
You see, when you live a life of nobility, goodness and honor… you are bound to make enemies along the way out of the nefarious sorts lurking in the shadows… hateful of the light you shed and the wickedness you hold at bay…
Such is the case with a crime syndicate known as The Raven's Talons, controlled by one Reizo Hatori, a cruel and cutthroat man that dressed himself like a fine gentlemanly aristocrat… Mitsurugi had thwarted many of Reizo's 'business ventures' in the past before Jade was even born and the time had come for Reizo to visit his wrath upon this old thorn in his side… he found where Mitsurugi had settled with his family… he was determined to spill Hirameki blood…
Arrogant as he may be, this wicked crime lord was no fool… he knew he would struggle at the very least against a master of Mitsurugi's skill… and honor? Reizo cared about wealth and power, what was honor going to do for him?
Reizo brought his six finest lieutenants with him when he came to Mitsurugi's town… he tracked his hatred nemesis down to a dojo on the edges of town where Mitsurugi taught his students…
Thankfully Mitsurugi was also a clever sort… there were certain traps set around the dojo, harmless things really… but they were rigged to ring a bell inside the dojo…
Friends and students knew about this and knew well to avoid triggering the ringing bell if they didn't wish to wind up ambushed as soon as they entered the dojo.
Unsure what to expect when that bell did ring, Mitsurugi had just enough time to hide his 12 year old daughter inside a secret compartment in the wall… before the doors and windows were crashed in, Reizo and his lieutenants pouring in…
Jade was helpless as she watched through a crack in the wall as her father courageously battled Reizo and the much younger lieutenants… but Mitsurugi while skilled and brave, was no longer a young man… he was eventually overwhelmed and slain…
There inside the wall all night, Jade remained… her hands over her mouth in horror, her cheeks stained with her tears…
As the sun rose that morning… so too did something in Jade… her grief and rage stained heart committed the face of Reizo Hatori to memory…
One day, some day… she would take her revenge…
It got worse for Jade… before her father was even cold in the ground, her mother took another husband who was much closer in age to her than Mitsurugi had been, he and his son treated Jade like an unwanted outcast…her mother? She did nothing to stop it, she was too pleased with all the wealth and luxury that her new merchant husband brought into her life. That woman barely acknowledged Jade existed anymore, like she was happily discarding everything of her old life, every little last bit.
One day, after everyone had gone to bed… a fed up Jade gathered what she could of hers and her late father's belongings, packed them into a cart and abandoned her cold neglectful mother and this new family she obtained.
Jade had one secret her father told her to never tell her mother… that being of a large dojo estate deep within to Taimurosuto Forest… it was something Mitsurugi's father left to him that he didn't trust his younger wife not to sell if something happened to him… and he was right, her mother was in the process of selling off whatever she could of Mitsurugi's more valuable things and properties.
This estate was presently home to a very dear friend of Mitsurugi, a man by the name of Shigure Kawazaki… he was once the master of a unrivaled shinobi guild, until he felt it was time to retire and enjoy his golden years…
Shigure, also heartbroken by the loss of his friend, comrade and brother, welcomed Jade with open arms as a surrogate father. He began immediately to teach Jade everything he knew.
It was not long after Jade reached twenty years old, that old Shigure fell ill and died in his sleep.
To honor him, Jade began to take students… she found the lost and forgotten, just like she was… she brought them to the dojo to live with her, educated them and taught them everything she had been taught… just as Shigure had done for her…
For now, Jade dedicates herself solely to them… but one day… the day will come… when it is time to avenge her father.

Snow White was very young when her father remarried, but she got on fabulously with her new stepmother, who unfortunately could have no children of her own… the two became as close as if they truly were blood bonded mother and daughter.
That bond would turn out to be the saving grace for both Snow White and her stepmother in the worst thing that could happen to a family… Snow White's father rode out with his men to intercept a band of roving bandits that had been tormenting the local farmers via stealing their produce, their livestock and even abducting a few daughters of the various families.
Snow White's father always felt it was important that his people knew they were important to him and when they needed him, he himself would be there to protect them.
While the bandits were dealt with and the stolen girls were retrieved unharmed… the king was not so lucky, he was fatally wounded and succumbed to his injuries on the battlefield.
Snow White and her stepmother were distraught, but they thankfully had each other to turn to for love, strength and support. They spent many hours together in the rose gardens that the king planted for the two most important women in his life as he felt his daughter and her stepmother needed a beautiful place to enjoy their tea and little cakes… and they made sure to do this often in his absence, honoring him with every cup of tea poured.
One day, a stranger arrived at the castle, nobleborn from the looks of him and his carriage, but no one in the castle recognized him… he claimed he was on a journey to return home to his family far to the North after traveling far and wide to seek exotic treasures, but he was weary and sought a safe and comfortable place to lay down his head for the night… if they gave him this, he would give the queen a beautiful six foot tall mirror held in a frame of gold filigree.
The queen thought it couldn't hurt to allow the man a place to rest for the night before he continued on his journey, so she accepted his gift and had a guest room given to him for the night.
The next morning, the stranger whom had called himself simply Augustus, had completely vanished along with his carriage. No one had seen him depart and no one could explain how the carriage and horses just up and vanished from the stables. It was a mystery.
Days passed and the queen had the mirror the odd stranger had given her placed on the wall in her chambers… one morning she stood before it, admiring a new dress and she heard a whispering voice 'Beautiful… so beautiful…'
The queen was frightened at first and then spoke "hello?"
Over the course of the next few weeks, the queen enjoyed the compliments the mirror paid her, no matter the strange eerie face that floated within semi transparent… she never told anyone the mirror was magical and began draping a silk over it whenever she wasn't in the room. Removing it was made a strict taboo.
She had never felt so good about herself since the death of her darling husband, she felt so beautiful.
One day the queen stood before the mirror and asked the eerie face within "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall… who is the fairest of them all?"
The mirror replied "My Queen, tis thee, that is fairest to see"
This pleased the queen… perhaps too much… she hadn't realized that the more and more she talked to the mirror and listened to it's compliments… a black stain growing on her heart, she began caring more and more about how beautiful she was and that everyone else agreed with that. She had even arranged a marriage for a beautiful daughter of a nobleman to another noble in the next country over, removing her from being competition within her own court for the fairest of them all. No one would surpass her, no one.
For years, the queen was quite satisfied and only ever asked the mirror little miniscule questions… it was surprisingly very knowledgeable about a great many things… then Snow White's eighteenth birthday arrived and throughout the grand party of her darling stepdaughter, guest complimented the young princess up and down about how beautiful she had become, both inside and out, they talked about how proud her father would be and so on and so forth.
It troubled the queen how much this bothered her… she got plenty of attention the majority of the time, why wasn't she happy to see Snow White so celebrated on birthday?
The night after the party, the queen went to her mirror to comfort and reassure herself that she worried about nothing, she asked the mirror the same as she did years ago "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall… who is the fairest of them all?"
The mirror replied "My beautiful queen is fair to see, but Snow White is far fairer than thee"
Rage bloomed within the queen… she was surpassed? By her own stepdaughter? An irrational sting of betrayal pricked at her heart… how could Snow White do this to her?!
As the night went on, the rage boiled and grew… she was supposed to be the fairest of the all, she deserved it, she had endured and lost so much, surely this one thing wasn't too much to ask for… but Snow White, she had to go and steal it from her! Backstabbing little bitch!
However… if Snow White were to… have an accident…
She thought about the farmer's daughter to the South, how beautiful she was becoming… and the apples her family's orchard was so popular for… and an idea began to form in her head… a way to deal with two… with just one apple…
The queen ordered a basket of apples retrieved from the orchard and demanded they be specifically chosen by the daughter of the farmer… when the apples were delivered to the queen for a 'mother daughter lunch', the queen took one of the apples… a beautiful ruby red apple that resembled the hue of Snow White's lips… and injected it with a poison…
The queen then had all of Snow White's favorite lunch choices prepared and once a beautiful table was set in their lovely rose garden, the queen summoned her stepdaughter to join her.
Unaware anything was amiss, Snow White greeted her stepmother warmly and lovingly, sitting down to enjoy what she believed would be a heartwarming afternoon with her stepmother…
"Try the apples, darling, they are from the Waldeck orchard… I've heard they are simply divine, truly the juiciest and sweetest, so I decided we just had to try some and see for ourselves if it is true…" The queen enthused brightly "Here, let me pick you a beautiful one"
The queen selected the apple she had poisoned and placed it in front of Snow White "Take a bite, I absolutely must know what you think"
Snow White nodded joyfuily and picked it up, she took a good bite and chewed, mmm'ing at the sweet juiciness of it… and then came an odd taste… followed by overwhelming dizziness… and her breath began to catch, it was becoming more and more difficult to breathe…
"Stepmother… something is wrong… help me…" Snow White pleaded, rising from her seat unsteadily before collapsing to the ground, barely conscious.
The queen rose from her seat and looked down at Snow White laying there on the grass… and then smiled evilly "Close your eyes now Snow White… and I will once again be the fairest of them all…"
Confused, Snow White felt herself slipping further and further into unconsciousness, everything was fading… until it all went black…
The queen then released a shrill horrified shriek, which summoned several guards into the garden.
The daughter of the farmer was then accused of deliberately attempting to kill the queen and accidentally killing Snow White instead… the girl was sentenced to death and hung…
Snow White was then laid to rest in the family crypt… only for her coffin to missing days later…
In truth… the guardians of the mirror had been tracking the thief of the cursed artifact… the felt the cursed energy of it and followed that to the castle…
They learned from the peasants about the loss of their beloved princess and how strange it was, that the farmer's daughter had never met the queen or the princess, so why would she try to kill either one?
The dwarves investigated the crypt on a hunch… they felt residual energy of the cursed mirror lingering around the princess… the poor beautiful young girl who had done nothing to deserve her fate… so when they discovered that she was in fact not dead, but in a death-like sleep… they took the princess and used ancient dwarven medicine to revive her.
Snow White, safe in the forest with the dwarves, told them everything about the strange nobleman and the mirror he brought, then about what happened in the garden… they instructed her to remain in the safety of their cottage, while they worked to retreive the cursed mirror and bury it once more.
Snow White pleaded with them to save her stepmother from the mirror, since it was clear the mirror had done this to her… the dwarves sadly told the princess that the damage was done and the queen could not be helped.
Heartbroken and knowing she could never return home, Snow White tried her best to comfort herself with learning about the forest and its animal inhabitants, many of whom seemed to take to Snow White exceptionally well.
Now, within the city of Lumen, Snow White, called Snow by her friends, used the four years since arriving to attend the local Lumen college to become a veterinarian.

Brief Story:
Ariel's life before being brought to Lumen with other Merfolk that Merlin was successful in saving was in her opinion kind of boring… she loved the ocean, but she longed for more, she didn't wish to be so limited… especially when there was so much more world to see and explore.
It is bittersweet really… her wish to enter the humanoid world was granted… but the way in which it happened, she felt guilty almost… it almost felt as if her selfish wish had caused so much pain. Merlin reassured her that her personal desires had nothing to do with Eldritch being… but it was still hard not to feel a little guilty for wishing so hard so often for her deepest desire to be somehow granted.
Over the last five years since Lumen was established, Ariel opened up a beautiful sea themed Spa and Bath House named Heart of Atlantica.
