THIS IS A MONSTER ROMANCE. IF IT'S NOT YOU JAM DON'T KEEP READING!
Hi there,
I'll be quick summing myself up, but I've worked on my writing quite a bit to get it to a level of quality I really enjoy. I go for both quality and quantity and I'm hoping for a partner that has a similar writing style to myself. I write third person/past tense. 500 words is usually my minimum but depending on the scene it can vary quite a bit. I usually get closer to 800 words but can go 1000+. I like solid writing but I'm not a stickler for perfect grammar and typos don't bother me. Gods know I make mistakes. As long as your writing isn't riddled with them and you've put good effort in, then I'm happy! I really just need a partner that pushes the story forward because I will definitely be pushing us in the direction we decide on together, I just don't want to be the only one moving the story along. I'm a big fan of fantasy, romance, adventure, and slow burns.
Expectations/Preferences for you and myself
-500 word minimum per post. My range is 500-1500+ depending on the scene.
-Third person/past tense
-Communication (For both plotting and just general communication about wait times between posts)
-Posts like once a week, more if possible of course, but this is a hobby and it should be fun. No pressure. Just let me know so I'm not constantly checking for updates.
-18+ themes like sex, drugs, violence, ect... I like detailed writing so things will get nitty gritty.
-A solid story that also includes smut where it fits. I don't have a preferred ratio but I'm big on sexual tension and slow burns that sometimes erupt suddenly. It should be organic if our characters have chemistry.
I often post more than once a week. If I am really hyped on a story I'll be checking for replies throughout the day and if I'm not at work I'll usually write back right away. If I plan to take longer I try to communicate that.
I enjoy writing male characters that have that brooding, hates the world energy that also have a soft spot for that one person. Someone who comes off as standoffish and prickly towards everyone except her. He can go from glaring and threatening one minute to soft and gentle the next, but that soft side only shows for her. In my 'Envy of the Gods'(Link in signature) story I wrote a demigod who could kill with just his touch. Mortals and Gods both feared him, but when it came to his love interest he was kind and soft. But that switch always flipped quickly one way or another depending on the situation. He was such a tortured soul and the whole story was angsty haha but the contrast between who he was with her and who he showed the rest of the world was really fun to write.
I'm big into fantasy, romance, and adventure. I like there to be an overarching plot that our characters are driving along, but I don't like sticking to a rigid storyline. I like to set an objective but getting there isn't a straight line. There are always little misadventures and side plots happening along the way. Lots of chaos at times and situations that force our characters to build trust and understanding. I also love smut, but only when it's written in to fit the story. I love the slow burn that eventually erupts in a desire filled frenzy if that makes sense.
Onto the story!
(Disclaimer, the male lead in this is not human and takes on more of a monstrous form, think Tiefling, but as per site rules he will have normal human genitals. I just wanted to make that plainly clear)
Inspired by Lily Mayne's monstrous series.
Monstrous
"Who hasn't made a deal with a centuries old entity of questionable moral standing and motives?"
Twenty years ago, the space between worlds was torn. A tear appeared between the human world and a world of monsters. Nightmarish creatures flowed into the human world and quickly began to slaughter. The world fell into chaos, countless people died, and now the world is left in ruin. The majority of surviving humans now live in crowded cities along the coast under military protection. Some humans do take their chances and live out in the wastelands(Wastes) of the the country, surviving by scavenging and fighting. They're known as raiders but are seen as crazy for choosing to live among monsters. The country was left mostly abandoned with long stretches of nothing. Towns are left raided, slowly being reclaimed by nature. The government is no more, leaving the military in charge. Corrupt as they are. They have bases across the country and spend their time killing or capturing monsters. Some monsters are mindless killing machines, but others are as intelligent, if not more intelligent, than mortals. People assume the monsters are all evil murderous creatures, but that isn't necessarily the truth. Mortals have taken the 'shoot first ask questions later' approach, and for good reason. These creatures are stronger and faster than themselves and if given the chance most monsters will kill a human without a second thought.
Almost her entire life has been spent within city walls, hearing horror stories about the world beyond. People fear the wastes as much as they fear the monsters that live in it. It's a lawless wasteland riddled with murderous monsters and humans. One of the worst punishments someone within the city can receive for breaking the law is being banished, and this is the fate that she now faces. Life in the cities is harsh with not enough food, water, or jobs for everyone. And stealing is considered one of the worst offences. It's a crime she is accused of, and without a proper justice system in place, there is no fair trial. She is torn from her life and family, tossed out in the wastes with meager supplies to survive on her own while the guards at the gates laugh at the idea of her getting eaten.
He is an Isdernuc [iz-der-nuck], a humanoid species of monster that stands at nearly seven feet tall. He is well built, striking an imposing figure with blue tinted skin and long horns that grow from above his temples and curve back over his head. He has a long prehensile tail with a sharp tip. His eyes are red and glow like embers. His pointed ears are pieced and lined with golden hoops. With fangs and sharp claw like nails, everything about him screams monster. But he isn't violent by nature. He came through the tear out of pure curiosity and has been wandering the wastes for many years. So when he comes across a lone human woman on the verge of being killed and eaten by a monster, he decides to help.
Seeing she has no experience living in the wastes, he asked if she wants to travel with him. Her goal is to get to another city along the coast to see if they will accept her there, but it will take weeks to get there. She doesn't stand a chance and she knows it. He offers his help, but she doesn't trust him. He's a monster after all. But what other choice does she have? So, their shaky alliance takes shape, and their long journey begins.
If this sounds like your jam then send me a message telling me about yourself! A writing sample would also be appreachited! Thanks!
