Western
1) Bounty hunter x OC - Female character could be a new wife, a damsel in distress, a bounty even. Plenty of opportunity for an action filled or a slower paced story.
2) Governor’s daughter x Outlaw - A story where MC is a governor’s daughter and traveling in the train. The train gets attacked and she manages to run away and stumbles across a small town. There she meets an outlaw that she offers money to take her back to her father. The story follows their adventure.
3) Mail order bride (could be dark or sweet) I see the two characters as the polar opposites.
4) A lonely farmer saves a girl on the run.
6) A higher class beauty and a ranch hand.
WW2
1) It’s more of an idea than a plot but basically your character is a doctor (he would also be a military man). He was assigned as a head doctor to a hospital in a small war torn town near the frontline. MC gets reallocated to that hospital to be a nurse as they are severely understaffed. The plot line might differ depending on whether you want more action or not. She could be from an enemy side,
2) This was more of a love story actually. A French girl and German soldier. Set in occupied Paris. Enemies to lovers.
3) Prisoner x Nurse - You’re an Allied general who got caught by the Germans and is currently held in a prisoners camp for interrogation. Because of his high rank, the Germans are dedicated towards keeping him alive for as long as possible to get as much intel out of him. That’s where MC comes in. She’s dedicated to her profession and country but also, compassionate towards people’s suffering. The plot revolves around both characters creating a bond. Then an allied troupe attacks the camp, rescuing YC. And then drama happens. I have ideas but won’t list all of them now.
4) MC is a nurse, who had been arrested by the enemy side. But since medical help is much needed on the front, they’re making her choose between helping the enemies and death. YC can be either a doctor or a wounded soldier.
Pirate
YC is a feared pirate captain, one of the very best ones to cross the waters of the Caribbean. He has a loyal to death but dreadful crew who often cause mayhem on the island, and especially in the tavern. They break, fight, rape and beat the girls but because they are filthy rich, the tavern owner doesn’t bat an eye. The captain (YC) also doesn’t do anything as he’d rather keep his men happy than please a few whores.
MC is one of there women. The two of them go way back. They were each other’s first big love and as expected it burned bright until it set both of them ablaze. Some conflict happened. Perhaps she took another customer when he though she was his and only his. Or maybe he allowed his crew to do something that broke her trust in him.
Back to nowadays, one day maybe MC acquires something. A map. About a hidden legendary treasure. Now, she doesn’t have a ship or a crew or any knowledge of how to decipher the map. So she needs someone who does.
Maybe then all the captains turn her down? Or she chooses YC for whatever reason, but she offers to give him the map in exchange of a big share. And she requires to be present on the treasure hunt.
