📜 Roleplay Request Thread

Greetings, fellow storytellers!

My name is Sariyth (you can also use Sariah or Rye), and I'm a 26-year-old who's thrilled to be back in the trenches of creative writing. My return to roleplaying three years ago felt like coming home after a long journey—I'd forgotten how much I loved the collaborative nature of it all after my break following my teen years! While I've only been back a short while, I'm fully invested and ready to dive into committed, detailed threads.

My Writing Style & Preferences

I believe the best stories come from partners who communicate well and build the world together. To help you determine if we’d be a good match, here’s a quick overview of what I look for:

  • Genders: I am pretty open when it comes to gender pairings. I tend to veer more towards female characters, but I would love to broaden my male characters as well!
  • Mirror Roleplayer: I am a mirror roleplayer, meaning I will match your tone, style, and length.
  • Post Length: I always prioritize quality over quantity, but I do ask for a minimum of one full paragraph per post. Please know that I will never do one-liners, as they don't give enough for a meaningful response. You can generally expect me to write a few paragraphs or more, depending on the scene and what you give me to work with!
  • Commitment: I am looking for long-term partners who are invested in seeing a plot through.
  • Smut: I can vary on smut; I don't mind writing it all out or fading to black. I can go from 30/70 smut to story all the way to 50/50.

🌿 Low Fantasy (Political & Survival)

The Whispering Border:

Our characters are part of a small, struggling settlement near a vast, ancient forest. When trade is cut off, the only path to survival is to venture into the supposedly unmagical woods to find a forgotten supply route—but the few people who live within the trees are far more dangerous than any political decree.

The Heir and the Blade:

One character is the secret, illegitimate heir to a small kingdom that recently died out. The other is a cynical mercenary or guard hired to escort them through territory crawling with rival claimants and assassins. The goal is to survive long enough to sell the right to the crown, forcing them to rely on street smarts and combat over magic.

The Scarred Relic

A character discovers an ancient, non-magical artifact (like a mundane coin, a cracked teacup, or a specific tree) is actually the focus for a powerful but localized magical effect, slowly destabilizing the local environment or the minds of people nearby. This magic isn't glorious; it's a slow, debilitating poison. Our characters must figure out the specific ritual needed to safely "un-magic" the object before the subtle decay becomes catastrophic.

❤️ Romance (Cozy & Complex)

The Bookstore and the Ghost Writer:

One character owns a small, struggling independent bookstore. The other is a famous, reclusive author secretly using the back room as their writing space. They forge an unlikely connection over shared books, but the secret of the author's identity threatens their new relationship.

Second Chance at Sea:

Two characters were intense high school rivals or sweethearts whose relationship ended badly. Years later, they find themselves stuck together on a small research vessel or long cruise, forced to share quarters and collaborate, reigniting old feelings and grudges in the isolation of the sea.

The Conflicting Mission

Two characters are placed together as reluctant partners—perhaps as rivals in a career field, unlikely academic collaborators, or undercover agents working for opposing but non-violent organizations. They have a history of friction, misunderstanding, or a "meet-cute" that went horribly wrong. Over the course of their forced proximity, they discover their professional goals conflict with a shared, deeper moral code, forcing them to choose between their duty and their growing, undeniable feelings for each other.

🔪 Thriller / Horror (Mystery & Tension)

The Cursed Cabin Getaway(Think cabin in the woods vibes):

Two characters win an all-expenses-paid trip to a remote, luxury cabin advertised as a "digital detox." All communication is cut off, and they slowly realize that the cabin isn't empty—and whatever else is there is playing a mind game, moving objects and isolating them until they can't trust each other.

Corporate Labyrinth:

One character suspects their seemingly benevolent tech company is involved in something nefarious. The other is an internal investigator or security specialist assigned to monitor them. The story follows their tense, cat-and-mouse game within the highly secure office building as they try to uncover the truth without being caught

The Inherited Obsession

A character inherits an old house, a collection of forgotten journals, or even a strangely specific hobby (e.g., taxidermy, clock repair) from a deceased relative they barely knew. As they delve into the inheritance, they realize the relative wasn't merely eccentric; they were obsessed with—and perhaps corrupted by—a malevolent entity or spirit tied to the property. The entity begins to slowly, psychologically break down the character's perception of reality, using the relative's journals as a blueprint for torment.

The Crossroads Decision

Two characters who have built a stable life together (as friends, partners, or even co-workers) are suddenly faced with a massive, unshareable, life-changing opportunity. One is offered their dream job across the country or world, must return home to deal with a family crisis, or discovers a secret that drastically alters their financial future. The plot focuses on the messy, honest process of dealing with that crossroads—the arguments, the sacrifices, the fear, and ultimately, the choice they have to make about their shared future.

The Unseen Watcher

One character witnesses something they shouldn't have—a covert exchange, a coded message, or a suspicious accident—involving a powerful, unseen Syndicate or government shadow group. The character knows they've been seen. The plot begins with a frantic, sudden flight. They can't go to the police and have to rely on a single person for help, constantly changing locations, deciphering fragmented clues left by the Syndicate, and always watching their back for the inevitable hit squad.

I'm also open to playing in some fandoms I'm familiar with! Feel free to ask about which ones I enjoy.
