Name: Imara Hoshi (Mar, Mara)
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Faceclaim:
Physical Characteristics: Imara has black hair that falls down to her lower back. Her natural texture is wavy, and she doesn't bother with styling it or wearing any makeup. It's not like it would do her any good, she can already have anything she wants. Her frame appears quite small when fully clothed, but when she wears something more revealing, it's plainly obvious that she's not a weakling. Mara's muscles aren't bulging and grotesque for a woman, but they are prominent, and they send a clear message that she's not to be toyed with. Her eyes are a dark blue, some even say bordering on purple in the right lighting. She's never without a weapon, whether you can see it or not, and many people have learned this fact the hard way.
Age: 28
Height: 5'8"
Eye Color: Almost a navy blue, although some seem to perceive them a deep purple if the sun hits them just right.
Markings and tattoos: Mara, like every member of her family, has a small tattoo of their family crest on the back of her neck. The crest is simple but gets the message across that her family is known to be deadly. The border is comprised of (she always assumed human, but nobody would ever confirm) bones, with an "H" centered between them.
Personality: Imara is a very quiet woman, keeping to herself when out and about in the town shops or otherwise. If you speak to her, she won't be outright mean, but many people perceive her as rude. She keeps things short and sweet, totally uninterested in the customs of small talk or keeping a good image for herself. Others tend to give her the space she prefers, but when a particularly daft individual challenges her, they will learn that she's not beneath a fight in the streets despite being part of an elite bloodline. Hoshi children are trained from a young age in both hand to hand combat as well as with various weapons, and it's something Mara takes great pride in showing off. Although she is an elite herself, she doesn't partake in the usual activities expected of someone in her position. She finds them quite tedious, boring, and sometimes even offensive. Many of the families that surround her are known to be unnecessarily cruel, especially for their own entertainment, and Mar wants no part of dismembering unlucky souls plucked from the Cages. Overall, many people consider her to be a daunting figure, but Mar just wants to live her life in a simple manner, and keep the peace around her hometown.
Abilities: Nothing inhuman, but Imara is insanely accurate with a gun. She knows how to use all sorts of weapons, including her own hands, very well, but if you're unlucky enough to find yourself at the business end of her gun.... Well, it's best to just say your prayers, if you believe in that kind of thing.
Background: Imara grew up in the top 1% of wealth, which meant she never wanted for anything. Her parents were strict, but most families at their level are with their children. They expect quite a bit from you even when you're young. She had an older brother who used to be rather mean to her, jealous that his sister who was eight years his junior could nearly keep up with him during their training. Unfortunately, shortly before Mara turned 18, both her older brother and father were executed for smuggling people from the Cages across the sea to lands that would be much kinder to them, lands that were exponentially more ethically advanced than their own. She knew it was a possibility her entire life, but they had always been so careful... it was a shock to everyone. There had not been executions like that for probably 200 years; everyone thought they had moved past such barbaric times, but the government had to make an example of them, she supposed. Two years later, her mother could no longer bear the pain of such a loss and took her own life. By this point, Imara's heart had already hardened from all the injustice she witnessed, and all the pain she endured. It was a grim day when she discovered her mother like that, but she couldn't bring herself to shed any tears. She was now solely responsible for their estate and carrying on their family name, and she had no intention of disappointing her late father. She knew he would want her to dismantle the system that brought forth the Cages and ended her entire family's lives... but she was only one person. Now, she follows the rules and observes the system, patiently waiting for her moment to strike.
