Hi everyone, my name is Nyx!
I'm a roleplayer that predominantly and at this point, almost entirely exclusively roleplays m4m. I've experienced plenty of roleplaying sites, from reddit to cherp, and have years of experience under my belt. My search for a partner to spin a wonderful yarn with has brought me here!
I love to read, write, game, and hyperfixate on our roleplay together. I enjoy connecting ooc just as much as I enjoy plotting, world building and gushing over our characters so if that's something that you like, I may just be the right fit for you.
Right now, I'm here seeking long term romance plots, with yearning, pining, shenanigans and a bit of smut too, of course.
If any of this has caught your eye, please feel free to read on and see if we might be a good match and work something out. -
✧ Ample communication. I'd love to have someone that I can really enjoy talking to, building with and throw ideas out at. Someone who is just as interested and invested. Even better if we can share memes, tiktoks, and all of that good stuff, but I completely respect if you're not that way inclined.
✧ M4M. While I do not at all care if you are a male in real life or not, I do expect your character to be. I'm all for female side characters, but for pairings of romance, I only roleplay men who are interested in men.
✧ Effort. I completely understand making mistakes during writing, god knows I do it sometimes, especially when I'm burning the midnight oil while replying. I want to see effort for my partner and feel like they're invested.
✧ Writing in 3rd, past tense. This is so very important and entirely non-negotiable! My brain cannot comprehend first person writing or present tense, and I don't want blurring of the lines of the characters or ourselves irl. While 1st may not always be indicative of self inserts, it seems more common and I have no interest in playing against self inserts.
✧ Frequent replies. Within reason of course. I completely get and understand that we all have lives, and while I'd love daily replies, I know that isn't always possible. So, once every few days at least would be wonderful, to once a week. While I am a patient person, I do need communication if there's anything going on or you feel burnt out, I am here to support you and will always wait as long as you let me know!
✧ Characters with personality. I love a character with realistic flaws, personality, morals. Of course a perfect pretty face who's always absolutely wonderful is lovely and all, but I want someone my characters can fall in love with despite their problems, despite their bruises and scars.
✧ Quality over quantity. I can't say I'm writing novels but, I tend to be a multi-paragraph writer. You will always have something to work with from me and I will make sure I am giving each reply my utmost time and attention regardless of their length.
✧ Drama. I'm as much a fan of drama within romance as the next person, but lets make sure we talk about it! Love triangle? I'm in, let's plan it. Darker themes? Let's dig in together.
✧ Smut. While I am a fan of smut, it's not the focus of any roleplay that I do. A 60:40 split is just fine with me. I don't want things to just devolve into people constantly getting their jollies off, and I love a good slow burn.
✧ Doubling. I love playing two pairings at once, running two romances. Whether in the same universe or two entirely different storylines. -
✧ Ghosting. I know we can all be guilty of it, and anxious creatures but, if I'm giving you my time and effort and you aren't feeling like you're still interested, please do me the courtesy of letting me know. I will absolutely never be mad about it, you have nothing to fear.
✧ One liners. Please. Just do not. I cannot work with one line replies, I cannot work with one paragraph. Two is my absolute minimum, and even then sometimes it just isn't always enough, if you're someone that writes multi-paragraph replies then I think we'll get along just fine.
✧ 1 dimensional characters. If you tend to play characters that never change, grow, have flat personalities, are op, or any of the above, then they're probably not for me.
✧ First person, present tense. As mentioned previously, I cannot work with this.
✧ Eternal bottoms. I'd like to say that I do not believe top = dom nor bottom = sub every single time. But when I say bottom I mean the partner that is receiving. If you are someone who can never play a top or someone that only ever receives, please, walk away, I beg it of you. I love to play tops, doms, switches, bottoms, power bottoms, and all of the in-between and I'd like to work with people that are also flexible. I have been stuck for years as the forever top, and it's exhausting. I'd like someone to bend over my characters sometimes, too! I'm completely okay if it ends up one way or another within the dynamic as we rp, after all, life is much the same, but if we're starting with characters that are strictly top or bottom, I'd rather double up and play more than one so that I have one of each otherwise I will very much get bored. -
I've got some thoughts on possible pairings at the moment which may or may not be of interest. Generally these are all for fantasy worlds, likely medieval fantasy but I'm always open to hear thoughts on other settings. I've underlined the roles I'd be more interested in playing, but I'd happily consider handing the role over to you.
✧ Demon x Priest
✧ Werewolf x Vampire
✧ Mythical Creature x Traveller
✧ Prince x Knight
✧ King x Court Mage
✧ Shifter x Slayer
✧ Cursed Monster x Mortal
✧ God x Mortal
✧ Alpha x Omega in any capacity. -
I have a few loose plot ideas bouncing around my head.
✧ Until Midnight. Think a little bit of Cinderella. A prince or noble, very much tired of the shallow attempts at his desires secretly throws a masked ball to find the one. He does. He's smitten, they dance and laugh, there's a twinkle in his new found lover's eye, but they flee before the ball is done and before he can even ask for a name. This plot is best mixed with supernatural creatures, like a vampire needing to escape sunrise, a werewolf escaping the steadily rising full moon or so on.
✧ Fate, Or Something Stronger. In this world, werewolves imprint on their partners, this is involuntary and cannot be controlled. We can have this only be living partners, or perhaps have never happened between a werewolf and a vampire before. If the former, perhaps imprinted on vampire character when they were still human but much time has passed, and now they are otherwise. Or this being the first heard of case of a werewolf imprinting on a vampire, chaos ensuing of course. I would love to navigate these feelings, the drama of it all as they come to terms with it, probably both try to find a way to ignore/escape it, but it's futile. I would even love to add omegaverse elements for fated-mates, or extra soulmate elements that drive them further towards each other despite everything they've been taught screaming no!
✧ Entwined Souls. A soulmate orientated plot, where it might be a case of two people who's very souls are entangled, and seek each other no matter where they go or what life they lead. They might remember each other or not, or perhaps only one of them does, they might even get torn apart by things that cause trauma that stop one of them from wanting to find the other. They could be married/ dating someone else when they meet, or in an awkward friendship position. I love this idea having details that tie them together like matching birthmarks, tattoos, old injuries that leave familiar scars or even dreaming about previous lives together which causes Much Ado About Nothing levels of confusion!
✧ Your Hand For Mine. Two princes who have been betrothed since they were young boys, hailing from two different lands. They may or may not have known about it, may or may not hate each other's guts entirely, but now they're of an age where things are progressing and they're being pushed to court each other properly, and get around to understand the idea of being married. I expect angst, bickering, politics, and shenanigans, though more importantly, finding love despite the situation. I'm very happy to include fantasy races like elves, orcs, dwarves and have them be from entirely different races and cultures.
✧ Peace. A hermit for all intensive purposes is disturbed by another individual and their quiet live is effectively ruined when they refuse to leave. Their unexpected guest might be a shifter of some sort, a man with a past on the run, or something else entirely but something draws them to the cabin on the lake and even more importantly makes them want to stay.
✧ Beauty And The Beast. Yeah. Look, it's a great movie, full of tension, stubborn souls and love despite it. I'd love to spin a version of this, a cursed man who was once just as human as everyone else, now bitter and cold, stalking through castle halls. An unexpected visitor who ends up locked in the castle with him. The curse could be broken of course, if someone, anyone, could love the beast as he was. Could such a thing truly happen?
