Spooctober is here Sanctum!!

For our annual horror-themed prompt:
Wait, that's not a Halloween Costume...
As always, prompts are open to interpretation. So long as general site rules are followed and the prompt is attempted, anything goes. Entries that do not attempt the prompt will be excluded from voting. Badges will be awarded to all participants, courtesy of @Rose for the Hunter, with a special one for the winner.
To try and make voting a little easier and encourage polishing of entries, we are imposing a word limit. Maximum 2500 words!! The count on site will be the deciding factor; we'll adjust this count based on feedback. If you wish to write a longer entry, feel free to post it in Bard's Tales and limit your actual entry to only an excerpt.
As an additional note, please do not use any non-standard or colour-changed fonts, either in the titles or in the entries.
I was also asked last month if joint challenge entries are permitted. Tentatively, our answer is yes. Just make sure that it is clear who is involved (ideally, message me directly) and know that we will apply self-voting rules to all participants.
Please post all entries as a thread in this forum (Link) with a unique title. The Deadline for this month is Sunday, October 26th. Please have all entries posted by 7 PM that evening (EST)
Congratulations to @BluesShuffle for winning the September Writing Challenge and thank you to all participants for their excellent work!!
We look forward to seeing your stories!!
Be sure to keep casting your daily votes for the Sanctum. You can do so by clicking here!
