  • Welcome, trainers, to the enchanting realm of Pokémon! I'm thrilled to announce the grand reopening of this epic adventure, breathing new life into a once-failed thread and turning it into an opportunity for fresh beginnings and unforgettable experiences.

Here, amidst the vibrant landscapes and bustling cities, an adventure awaits unlike any other. In our world inspired by the beloved games, your journey begins anew.

After the dastardly schemes of the Rainbow Rockets were foiled in Alola, remnants of this villainous group continue to stir up trouble across the globe. But fear not! You, as esteemed members of the International Police Department's Romeo Team, hold the key to restoring peace and justice.

Together, let's embark on a thrilling quest to track down these evildoers and ensure that harmony reigns once more. Your courage, wit, and Pokémon companionship will be your greatest assets as you navigate this perilous yet exhilarating path.

So gear up, fellow trainers, for an epic adventure awaits! Let the journey begin!

    • General Site rules apply. (Of course!)
    • Think of this as a Pokémon game for adults
    • Each post has a 300-word minimum.
    • There will be a weekly post requirement i.e. I expect at least one post per week.
    • If you put anything OOC in the IC thread, I will smite you.
    • Images are allowed.
    • Don't be a dick. Don't god-mod and power game, etc.
    • Death will happen to both human characters and pokémon. This is meant as a trigger warning.
    • This is for adults, romance is allowed. However, this is a non-smut thread. If sexual situations happen use the fade-to-black method.
      • And please don't have romantic and/or sexual interactions with your pokémon
    • Only six pokémon on hand at any given time; however, you can have an infinite number of them stored on the PC. That being said, I expect you to have a backstory of how you met, befriended, and trained every single pokémon in your arsenal.
    • On Team Romeo there are different roles to play. On missions, you will be expected to fulfill your role; your team needs to reflect that.
    • No legendaries! That includes mythical. You might get the chance to catch one later.
    • I will allow one ultra beast and/or paradox pokémon.
    • We will not be using levels in this RP, but assume that as a special agent, you have very top-trained pokémon.
    • I realize HMs have been out of use for the past few generations; however, we will be implementing them in this game. This is RP-based, so how you use your pokémon's moves is up to your imagination. However, just because a pokémon has the size to carry you, without the move 'fly,' it does not have the technique to fly with the extra burden that is you. The same goes for 'surf,' 'cut,' and so on.
    • In the past few generations, several older pokémon have been given new forms and special attacks (i.e., gigantamax, mega evolution, and z-moves). I will only allow one of these per pokémon. And do remember that dynamaxing/gigantamaxing can only take place in power spots, and terastallization only happens in Paldea.
    • Every agent will be in possession of a rotom phone/pokédex without having rotom in their party.
    • It has been 15 years since the events of Generation I/III

  • Explanations:
    • Generation I/III: FireRed, LeafGreen/Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire
    • Generation II/IV: HeartGold, SoulSilver/Diamond, Pearl, Platinum
    • Generation V: Black, White
    • Generation V/VI: Black2, White2/X, Y
    • Generation VII: Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon
    • Generation VIII: Sword, Shield
    • Generation IX: Svarlet, Violet
    1969
    • First humans land on the Moon.
    11 years before I/III:
    • Chris and Chloe are born.
    • The Litleonid meteor shower passes by Hoenn for the last time before Generation I/III
Less than ten years before Generation I/III:
    • The first Pokémon created by scientific engineering, Porygon, is created.
    Some years before Generation I/III:
    • A team of scientists discovers a new Pokémon (at the time) deep in Guyana, South America, on July 5. They name the Pokémon Mew on July 10.
    • Mewtwo, a clone of Mew, is born on February 6.
    • Mewtwo escapes from and destroys Cinnabar Island's Pokémon Mansion on September 1 and then goes to Cerulean Cave.
    • Giratina returns to the Pokémon world.
    • Goldenrod Radio Tower is torn down due to being old and creaky. During the process, the Radio Tower Director comes across the Clear Bell, which he keeps for the time being. A new Goldenrod Radio Tower is built in its place.
    One year before Generation I/III:
    • Professor Rowan goes to Kanto to research the myths of the region.
    Generation I/III:
    • Team Rocket's attention is focused on Kanto, distributing Pokémon as prizes through the Rocket Game Corner in Celadon City and the secret underground hideout underneath it.
    • A successful raid is executed at the Celadon City Game Corner controlled by Team Rocket, recovering all of the Pokémon held captive.
    • In Mt. Moon, Team Rocket intends to sell the Pokémon Fossils they are mining in the cave.
    • A mission devoted to stealing Cubone skulls in Lavender Town results in a hostage situation involving Mr. Fuji and the death of a Marowak.
    • Another hostage situation develops soon afterward when Team Rocket overruns Silph Co. in Saffron City, intending to get the Master Ball plans, a prototype of which has already been produced.
    • Team Rocket's plans to take over the Silph Co. were reported to have been thwarted.
    • Agent Looker and the International Police storm the Viridian Gym searching for Giovanni, but he is nowhere to be found.
    • During a follow-up investigation, the International Police is surprised to find out that Giovanni was the Viridian Gym's Gym Leader. After handing badges to two trainers, he had disappeared.
    • Celio connects his Pokémon Network Center to the Hoenn region.
    • Team Rocket has a small branch in the Sevii Islands, searching for the Ruby and Sapphire gems. This branch is based out of the Rocket Warehouse on Five Island, situated in the middle of the Five Isle Meadow, where many Pokémon are held captive in cages.
    • Their search for the Ruby leads them to Mt. Ember, though they fail to find it. They then appear in Icefall Cave, where, with Lorelei's help, they are driven out. A scientist named Gideon then seems to retrieve the Sapphire at the Dotted Hole.
    • After the two Rocket Admins' defeat at the Rocket Warehouse, they realize that Giovanni has been defeated in Kanto. Without the lifeblood of the organization, all is lost for the Sevii Islands branch. Team Rocket subsequently pulls out of the Sevii Islands and has not been seen there since.
    • In Rustboro City, a grunt for Team Aqua is apprehended after stealing parts from a Devon Corporation Researcher.
    • The Oceanic Museum in Slatenport City is taken over by Team Aqua, but is defeated. Their leader gets away.
    • At Meteor Falls, Team Magma, who has stolen a valuable Meteorite from Professor Cozmo, seeks to make Mt. Chimney erupt. Suddenly, the scene is interrupted by Team Aqua and Archie's appearance, which causes the Team Magma Grunts to retreat to Mt. Chimney with the stolen meteorite.
    • At the top of Mt. Chimney, Team Magma and Team Aqua can be found fighting. Team Magma is defeated and leaves behind the meteorite.
    • Team Aqua attacks the Weather Institute in Hoenn, attempting to steal the Pokémon Castform, but they are defeated and retreat.
    • Team Aqua and Team Magma steal the red and blue orbs (respectively) from Mt. Pyre.
    • Deep within the Jagged Pass's secret tunnels, Maxie attempts to awaken Groudon with the blue orb. However, upon awakening, Groudon abruptly flees the cave.
    • Team Aqua takes over Captain Stern's research submarine.
    • Team Magma has invaded the Mossdeep Space Center, where they plan to steal rocket fuel to jettison into Mt. Chimney, causing it to erupt. They are apprehended.
    • Team Aqua travels to the Seafloor Cavern with the Red Orb, where Kyogre awaits. Kyogre, however, cannot be controlled and leaves for the Cave of Origin in Sootopolis City.
    • At Sootopolis City, Groudon and Kyogre are fighting. Rayquaza descends from the sky and cries out to Groudon and Kyogre, causing the two to retreat. Rayquaza then flies back to Sky Pillar, and the weather in Hoenn returns to normal.
    • An unnamed meteorite heads for Hoenn, threatening to destroy the world. When Rayquaza shatters the meteoroid, however, a triangular object emerges from the middle of the debris. After a moment of darting around, tendrils snake out of the item before it bursts apart to reveal an unnamed pokémon, which immediately engages Rayqauaza in a battle.
    Between I/III and II/IV:
    • An eruption of the volcano on Cinnabar Island destroys the island's settlement, except for the Pokémon Center. As a result, Blaine, the Cinnabar Gym Leader, relocates the Gym to the nearby Seafoam Islands.
    • The Champion retreats to Mt. Silver, training day and night, leaving Lance to act as Champion. At the same time, Lorelei returns to her home in Four Island, and Agatha retires from her position as a member of the Kanto Elite Four. This leaves three vacancies on the roster for Elite Four.
    • Karen and Will fill two of these vacancies. The other is filled by Koga, who abdicates his position as Fuchsia City Gym Leader to his daughter, Janine.
    • Anabel enters an Ultra Wormhole and is found by Nanu and Agent Looker in Alola.
    • Extensive research confirms the existence of Steel and Dark types in the region of Kanto.
    • Groudon and Kyogre retreat to the region of Fiore to rest after their battle.

    • Professor Rowan returns to Sinnoh after four years.
Three years after Generation I/III/ (Generation II/IV):
    • A revived Team Rocket, using plans formulated three years prior, enrages many Gyarados at the Lake of Rage as they proceed to take over the Goldenrod Radio Tower in a desperate attempt to contact Giovanni, their former leader. They are defeated, and the new leader vows never again to re-form Team Rocket.
    • Team Galactic is in the Valley Windworks, where Mars heads up a scheme to steal energy for their activities. After she has been defeated in the Valley Windworks, Team Galactic's building in Eterna City remains a stronghold on the western side of the region, led by Jupiter.
    • Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn succeed in capturing Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf, respectively, at their respective lakes and bringing them to the Team Galactic HQ, where gems are extracted from their bodies to create the Red Chain. Cyrus is forced to make a second one through artificial means. Using these two chains, he summons both Dialga and Palkia to the Spear Pillar to recreate the universe. Even though the lake guardians appear to intervene, they cannot maintain the balance against both of the Legendary Pokémon at once. However, enraged by Cyrus's actions, Giratina then appears and drags Cyrus into the Distortion World, presumably destroying the Red Chains in the process.
    • Charon awakens Heatran on Stark Mountain. Heatran is stopped by restoring the Magma Stone in its place. Agent Looker tries to arrest the remnants of Team Galactic led by Charon but fails.
Approximately two years after Generation II/IV:
    • Cipher and Team Snagem return to the Orre region and create XD001, a supposedly unpurifiable Shadow Pokémon, but Michael thwarts their plans. Meanwhile, Dr. Kaminko and Chobin invent Robo Groudon and Robo Kyogre, and Professor Krane invents the Purify Chamber, where Shadow Pokémon can be purified more easily.
    • The Team Rocket Grunt who stole the Machine Part in Kanto returns to Unova, intending to reform Team Rocket there despite its second defeat, as he previously stated. He later falls in love and has a son, moving to Icirrus City.
    • Caitlin leaves the Sinnoh/Johto Battle Frontier and returns to Unova, becoming an Elite Four member.
Three years after Generation II/Generation IV (Generation V):
    • Team Plasma attacks the museum in Nacrene City and steals a bone from the Dragon Fossil. The grunts are apprehended and return the Dragon Skull.
    • Team Plasma appears at Dragonspiral Tower, where N awakens the legendary dragons.
    • N's castle rises from the ground, surrounding the Pokémon League building. Most of the Unova Gym Leaders appear to stop Team Plasma.
    • Team Plasma appears during the Liberty Pass event, where they take over Liberty Garden and try to capture Victini.
Between Generation V and Generation VI:
    • Cilan, Chili, Cress, Lenora, and Brycen retire as Gym Leaders to train.
    • Cheren, Roxie, and Marlon become Gym Leaders.
    • Alder retires as the Champion, and Iris takes his place.
    • Five of the Seven Sages leave Team Plasma, and Ghetsis and Zinzolin form a new Team Plasma solely dedicated to conquering Unova.
Two years after Generation V (Generation V/VI):
    • Team Plasma attacks Opelucid City. Drayden tries to stop Team Plasma but fails. Colress uses the imprisoned Kyurem's power to freeze Opelucid City.
    • Zinzolin steals the DNA Splicers from Drayden.
    • N arrives at the Giant Chasm to confront Ghetsis. Ghetsis uses the DNA Splicers to fuse N's Reshiram with Kyurem, creating the White Kyurem.
    • Lysandre introduces the Holo Caster, which becomes a massive success around Kalos.
    • Team Flare finds Yveltal and brings it to their secret HQ in Geosenge Town.
    • Team Flare is encountered in Glittering Cave, where they attempt to steal fossils off the researcher working there but are stopped.
    • It is revealed that a problem inside the Kalos Power Plant is responsible for the blackout in Lumiose City. Inside the building, a Team Flare Admin and Team Flare Scientist, Aliana, are siphoning electricity from the Power Plant, causing the outage.
    • At Laverre City, Team Flare Grunts are blocking the Poké Ball Factory. Although defeated, the Team Flare Scientists are able to steal many of the Poké Balls, except the Master Ball.
    • Lysandre reveals that he is the leader of Team Flare and sends out a live broadcast to all Kalos trainers via the Holo Caster. During the broadcast, Lysandre reveals Team Flare's plans of using the "ultimate weapon," a machine built by the king of Kalos 3,000 years ago that can eliminate all life. To achieve this, Lysandre plans to use Yveltal to activate the device in Lysandre Labs in Lumiose City.
    • The weapon, situated in Geosenge Town, activates from the three menhirs in the town center. The blast from the weapon destroys it and buries Lysandre and the HQ under rubble. As a result, Team Flare disbands. It is unknown what becomes of Lysandre afterward.
    • Agent Looker confronts Essentia, the Pokémon thief who has been stealing Pokémon from Trainers around Lumiose City. Looker realizes that Essentia is Emma, an orphan girl he had taken to live with him. Emma's Espurr, Mimi, frees Emma from her mind control by destroying the Expansion Suit. After "Essentia" is defeated, Xerosic relents and surrenders to Looker, ending Team Flare's reign of terror once and for all.

    • Nihilego appears at Aether Paradise.
    • During the confrontation with Dusk Mane Necrozma, it opens multiple Ultra Wormholes all across Alola, unleashing Ultra Beasts into Alola. Blacephalon and Stakataka appear on Mahalo Trail, facing against Hala, Hau, and Tapu Koko. Additionally, Olivia encounters Buzzwole and Pheromosa at the Ruins of Life, Nanu encounters Guzzlord at the Ruins of Abundance, and Hapu encounters Xurkitree at the Ruins of Hope.
    • Lusamine enters a wormhole with Guzma. Lillie evolves Nebby into Solgaleo at the Altar of the Sunne and travels into Ultra Space, where they battle Lusamine again and bring her and Guzma back to Alola.
    • On TV, Lusamine elaborates on Poni Island's recent events involving Necrozma and assures everyone the incident is dealt with. During the interview, Wicke and Faba stand behind her, and the latter quietly slips away. Suddenly, an Ultra Wormhole appears in the sky, and the cameraman gets pushed by a Team Rainbow Rocket Grunt and drops his camera. A mysterious figure arrives and says the studies and technologies being worked on at Aether Paradise will be of great use to Team Rainbow Rocket.
    • Lusamine's mansion is no more, and in its place stands its warped version, the Team Rocket's Castle.
      • Faba sold out Aether Paradise to Team Rainbow Rocket to further his career.
      • What happened to Lusamine's manor is a product of multiple dimensions converging.
    • Maxie and Archie, who occupy offices on the opposite sides of the castle, reveal they came from worlds where they have achieved their goals of, respectively, using Groudon to expand the landmass and using Kyogre to raise the sea, and have been transported to this world right after having done so.
    • Lillie takes the teleporter and is welcomed by the mastermind behind the invasion, Giovanni. After defeating Giovanni, Lillie also discovers Lusamine unconscious and, according to Giovanni, brainwashed with an Ultra Beast's toxins. Giovanni gracefully retreats, and the manor reverts to its normal appearance.
Two years after the events of Generation VII (Generation VIII):
    • Rose makes a public announcement, revealing that he's going to bring about the second Darkest Day to save Galar from an energy crisis a thousand years in the future.
    • The Darkest Day is the result of Rose awakening a Legendary Pokémon known as Eternatus.
    • Once Eternatus seems to have been defeated, however, it suddenly transforms into its even more powerful Eternamax form.
    • Zacian and Zamazenta awaken and come to defeat Eternatus, putting an end to the second Darkest Day.
Three years after the events of Generation VIII:
    • The IP retrieves compilations of information on terastillization, paradox pokémon, and Teragos from the academies of Naranja and Ulva.
    • Seafoam Islands freeze over, leading the Kantonians to believe Articuno has returned to lay its eggs.
    • Intelligence gathered by Agent Looker forewarns of an old Team Rocket boss returning to the region to capture the legendary pokémon while it is vulnerable.
    • The International Police sends its Romeo team to deal with the situation.

    TOP SECRET

    Mission Brief: Operation Freeze

To: Special Agent [Codename], Romeo Team

    From: Head of Operations

Subject: Urgent Deployment - Seafoam Islands Crisis

    Special Agent,

You have been selected for a critical mission of utmost importance to regional security. Recent developments have led to a severe disruption in the Seafoam Islands of the Kanto Region, where unprecedented climatic anomalies have rendered the tropical environment into a frozen wasteland. Legend suggests that such phenomena may signal the impending arrival of Articuno, one of the legendary Pokémon, though this remains unverified.

Intelligence indicates a potential threat to the safety and sanctity of Articuno and its habitat. The notorious Team Rocket Executive, known only as the Masked Man, is believed to be involved and may attempt to exploit the situation for his own gain.

    Your mission objectives are twofold:

Protect Articuno, its roost, and potential offspring: Safeguard the legendary Pokémon and its habitat from any potential threats or disturbances.

Apprehend and detain the Masked Man: Identify, locate, and neutralize the criminal mastermind known as the Masked Man, who poses a significant threat to regional stability and the safety of Pokémon.

You will coordinate with fellow operatives at the designated rendezvous point on the east island. Accommodations have been arranged at the Cinnabar Gym, courtesy of its esteemed leader.

Exercise extreme caution and discretion throughout the mission. The success of Operation Freeze rests upon your expertise and determination.

This communication will self-destruct upon completion.

    Good luck, Special Agent.

    SEAFOAM ISLANDS
    • As part of your preparation for Operation Freeze, it is crucial to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Seafoam Islands, strategically positioned along Route 20 within the Kanto Region. These islands serve as a vital passage, dividing the route into two distinct segments, thereby necessitating traversal for onward journey.

Seafoam Islands, typically characterized by their lush tropical environment, present a picturesque yet challenging locale for trainers and operatives alike. The islands boast pristine beaches, verdant jungles, and crystal-clear waters teeming with diverse Pokémon species. Despite their inviting appearance, the islands harbor hidden dangers and formidable challenges that demand utmost vigilance and preparation.

The islands' turbulent waters and unpredictable currents pose a significant obstacle to navigation, requiring seasoned trainers and operatives to demonstrate exceptional skill and resilience. Many water-type trainers are drawn to these islands to test their Pokémon against the indigenous wildlife and the formidable aquatic challenges presented by the island's rugged coastline.

Please note that the nearest Pokémon Center is situated in Fuchsia City, emphasizing the importance of self-sufficiency and preparedness for extended operations in this remote location.

Beneath the towering mountains that dominate the islands, an intricate network of subterranean caves sprawls, serving as clandestine passages connecting the two landmasses. These caverns are shrouded in darkness and conceal numerous hazards, including treacherous terrain and swift underground rivers. Traversing these caves requires caution and preparation to mitigate the inherent risks effectively.

Operatives must exercise utmost vigilance and resourcefulness when operating within the environs of the Seafoam Islands, as they present formidable challenges that demand both skill and resilience to overcome.

An unprecedented and seemingly endless blizzard has engulfed the twin islands of the Seafoam Islands, plunging the region into an icy abyss. The sudden onset of this phenomenon raises questions about its origin and significance, particularly in relation to the potential presence of the legendary Pokémon.

Whether this blizzard heralds the arrival of the legendary Pokémon remains uncertain. However, it exacerbates the already hazardous conditions of the islands, rendering them even more treacherous and inhospitable than before.

Operatives are hereby advised to exercise extreme caution when operating within the Seafoam Islands. The blizzard presents numerous challenges and dangers, including limited visibility, sub-zero temperatures, and heightened risk of exposure-related injuries.

In light of these conditions, operatives must ensure they are adequately equipped for sub-polar temperatures. It is imperative to pack uniforms and gear specifically designed to withstand extreme cold and harsh weather conditions.

Maintain constant vigilance and adhere to all safety protocols while navigating the blizzard-ravaged islands. The success of our mission hinges upon your preparedness and resilience in the face of adversity.

Despite the lush tropical terrain of the Seafoam Islands, Blaine's decision underscores the significance of this location as a center for Pokémon training and development. Operatives should be mindful of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by this vibrant ecosystem.

Upon emerging victorious in a gym challenge against Blaine, trainers are awarded the prestigious Volcano Badge, symbolizing their mastery in battle. Blaine's extensive residency on the Seafoam Islands positions him as a valuable source of local knowledge and intelligence, offering insights crucial to our mission objectives.

Operatives are encouraged to engage with Blaine diplomatically and leverage his expertise to enhance our operational effectiveness within the region.

Originating from Kanto, the Masked Man capitalized on the dissolution of Team Rocket 14 years ago, rallying the remaining grunts to resurrect the organization in Johto under his leadership.

The Masked Man's nefarious ambitions centered around capturing Celebi, the mythical Pokémon revered for its time-traveling abilities. His relentless pursuit of this goal was thwarted, thanks to the timely intervention of law enforcement authorities. However, his influence persisted as his loyal administrators assumed control of the organization, culminating in the infamous Goldenrod incident.

Recent intelligence suggests that the Masked Man's clandestine research efforts may have contributed to the creation of Team Rainbow Rocket, a formidable criminal syndicate with aspirations of multiversal conquest. Despite the passage of time, the Masked Man's identity remains shrouded in mystery, evading all attempts at identification and apprehension.

Operatives are hereby instructed to remain vigilant and exercise caution when operating in areas under the Masked Man's influence. Gathering actionable intelligence on his whereabouts and activities is of paramount importance to our ongoing efforts to combat his criminal enterprises.

Exercise discretion and employ all available resources to neutralize the Masked Man and mitigate the threat he poses to our mission objectives and the safety of the region.

BACKGROUND⠀⠀
background ;

Agent Vandal grew up in Undella Town in the Unova region, but instead of starting his journey as a trainer after his 10th birthday, decided to pursue academic goals and was accepted as a student at Blueberry Academy. He did well as a student, catching his fair share of Pokémon, became part of the Elite Four in his school, and even became an exchange student that sent him to the Naranja Academy in Paldea. It was while in Paldea, during the academy's Treasure Hunt that Vandal's battle prowess grew in leaps and bounds, eventually becoming a Champion caliber trainer. By the time Vandal went back to the Blueberry Academy he had the option to graduate and did so with high honors. It was questioned if Vandal would take part in the gym challenge in other regions, but Vandal instead pursued prestige in other venues.

Going back to Unova, Vandal was granted entry into the Battle Institute and the Pokémon World Tournament and established himself as a Champion in both. The World Tournament also allowed him to learn news from other regions and helped whenever he could. He went to Kalos after Team Flare fired the ultimate weapon and helped quell Zygarde, went to Alola when Ultra Beasts invaded it, played a part in the Second Darkest Day in Galar, and was even allowed to explore Area Zero in Paldea despite the protests that it was too dangerous. Taking part in all these crises caught the attention of the International Police (IP) and after sending the Ultra Beasts back to their respective dimensions, was invited to join their organization.

Since then Vandal has been splitting his time between defending his titles in Unova and working for the IP. Vandal still trains and battles, but believes he's found the prestige he pursued back when he graduated from the Academy. Recently the IP promoted Vandal to the rank of Commander and is having him lead their Romeo tactical team. Vandal was honored to receive the promotion and is confident that he can deliver what the IP requires of him. All he wants is to live a successful, fulfilled, and happy life.

BACKGROUND⠀⠀
background ;
Armarogue was a Pokémon Vandal received as a trade evolution while he was in Blueberry Academy, Originally a Charcader, the Pokémon evolved when it was traded over to him and gained the Psychic typing. Armatogue proved to be a quite adept battler and was a staple in Vandal's Elite Four team. Vandal also had the Pokémon learn how to use Energy Ball to cover most of its weaknesses, though Dark and Ghost types still give it a hard time.

Despite being useful in battle Armarogue can be quite vain at times. When she's not battling Armarogue can be seen polishing her armor and adopted a graceful battle style, to look her best while in the heat of battle. Vandal attributes this to her previous trainer - a Pokémon Coordinator.

BACKGROUND⠀⠀
background ;
Caught in Paldea, Toedscruel covered a glaring weakness in Vandal's team when he was having trouble against the electric-type gym leader's team in the Levincia gym. As a Toedscool it was able to sweep most of the gym leader's Pokémon and Toedscool proved even more useful at water type Casscarrafa gym. It was after helping at the latter that Toedscool evolved into Toedscruel and has been one of Vandal's favorites to send out in battle since then.

Despite looking like it and its name being similar to the water type Tentacruel, Toedscruel is a completely different Pokémon. However, because of their similarities, people have mistakenly classified Toedscruel as a regional variant of Tenracruel, even though they don't live in Paldea's waters.

After Vandal helped Alola with its invasion of Ultre Beasts he was given a Pokémon Egg as thanks. It took a while to hatch, but Vandal's care of it paid off when a shiny Popplio was born. While it was a Popplio it found Primarium Z on the ocean floor, but Vandal doesn't own a Z Ring, though he has been thinking of acquiring one so Primarina can use it's immensely useful Oceanic Operetta.

Primarina's shiny coloring makes the Pokémon stand out in his team, especially in the eyes of Annihilape and Kingambit. Both Pokémon go a bit out of their way to impress her, and even though Primarina seems oblivious to their advances, she still appreciates their friendship. Vandal tends to put Primarina in his team if Annihilape is part of it because she's been able to quell his rage.

BACKGROUND⠀⠀

When Vandal was allowed entry into Area Zero he was told he would have to parachute into the crater as there was no other way to enter its depths. Vandal was reluctant at first but had heard rumors of the Paradox Pokémon that lived there, and his curiosity got the better of him and agreed to their terms of entry. While falling through the crater Vandal happened to land on what he thought was a Salamence, who descended and dropped the trainer off at the bottom. It wasn't until Vandal was off of the Pokémon that Vandal realized the Salamance was a Paradox Pokémon with feathered wings and a more feral appearance.

Roaring Moon, as reports called it, seemed to warm up to Vandal and stayed nearby during his stay in Area Zero. When it was time to return to the surface Roaring Moon didn't want to say goodbye, so joined his team as Vandal's newest Pokémon. When Romeo told Vandal he needed a Pokémon that could fly him, he chose Roaring Moon for this honor. The International Police provided it with a Booster Energy to help with its role, which only made the Paradox Pokémon more useful than before.
