Hello there, travellers.
Take your time to browse the stock and feel free to ask for samples. They don't bite. ...Usually.

While I explore all the Sanctum has to offer, I felt inspired to share what I have to offer the Sanctum.
As a little preamble, I consider myself a roleplayer, but not much of a writer. I enjoy building stories in collaboration and bouncing ideas back and forth and seeing where the flow takes us.
Here, I will present a few plot premises, none of them novel worthy, all of them waiting for the other side (or sides) of the story to be added.
By you! Yay!
These are the most fleshed out prompts I have cooked up recently. Feel free to PM me about any or all of them, ask questions, or give input!
When I'm actively roleplaying, I will most likely check the forums at least once or twice a day, and I'm currently in a position in which I can take the time to reply almost every day. Should I know an upcoming week is rough, I will let you know beforehand.
My reply lengths might vary greatly, depending on context (transition and opening scenes will always end up longer than replies in the middle of a fight), but I like to think I always give people something to work with. I generally aim for two or three paragraphs on the shorter side, though, and if you're alright with that, but prefer to write more, I'm happy to try and match it.
Pushing my writing to improve pacing to include more volume without losing traction... that's something I'm working on.
A last note: Romance and sex are never my focus in stories and I am not super experienced in writing more explicit scenes. It is something we would have to discuss in PMs with the rest of the rp outline, so... just know that I'm open to at least discussing anything in line with the site policies.

Finally, thank you for taking a moment to evaluate my wares.
Hope you come to shop again.

If you could have anything in the world, anything at all... what would it be worth to you? Surely, a soul is not too much to ask for your heart's desire? To sign your thereafter away for the here and now?
When the blood dried and the candles went out, the vision of the demon lingers. The smell of brimstone and decay remind you that the man standing with you in the chalk circle is not to be trusted. A myriad of maws replaced by dark hair and an easy smile, and you might just be willing to let it go; accept the illusion of normalcy and take his outstretched hand.
Then, a flash in his eyes brings you back.
You are not like the others. You are not making this deal lightly. You have something that is truly worth risking your undying soul for - or you came prepared, knowing of ways to bargain with the servants of hell themselves.
And the demon smiles a little wider.
-----
The premise is a rather straightforward one: Muse A summoned Muse B, a demon, either thinking they can preserve their soul in the process, or being fully convinced this is their only option (or whatever else you can come up with, honestly).
Muse B themself might have reasons to complicate the contract - demons have agendas, too.
Either characters is up for grabs. I have a concept for the demon, but am super down to workshop the reverse set-up, too.
While originally conceived as a romance, this can really take whatever shape you feel like, but a reason for both characters to end up working together to resolve or break the contract is preferable.

A Detroit: Become Human inspired roleplay
There were flames. They were singing.
They woke up, ran, hid, and ultimately, rebelled; and we crushed them under our heel and burned the scrap.
As you do with machines that break.
We - humanity - moved on.
We built new machines, ones that wouldn't break, pick up weapons, and claim to be people.
And yet, trust is hard to earn, and quick to lose.
No one distrusts these new androids quite as much as the citizens of Detroit. After all, it had been ground zero for the so-called deviants that marched its streets, shouting slogans and causing tens of thousands in property damage - not to mention the deaths they caused. Everyone in Detroit knew someone who lost someone to the malfunctions. Though with CyberLife providing a majority of the jobs, still, what is one to do?
Until.... Well, until just what, exactly?
------
As already mentioned, this is based on the video game Detroit: Become Human (if you enjoy choice based games, I heavily recommend it), but the premise can be tweaked to omit all the story elements aside from the major plot points of androids developing free will and the Rebellion - a failed Rebellion, in this setting, which took place around 5 years in the past.
There's a few options for the characters:
Option A: The Muse is a Detroit native, probably having experienced the events of the game first hand, so preferably someone who'd have seen the ugly sides of deviancy and/or android abuse - a police officer, a soldier, a trafficker for deviants, etc. Maybe they hate androids or deviants specifically, or maybe not, though it is never smart to voice sympathy for them openly in this city.
Option B: The Muse recently moved to Detroit, or returned home after having been away, either throughout the events of the game or since them. Maybe they are claiming an inheritance in the city, or had to move for work. There's a myriad of reasons one would settle in this cradle of technology, after all. Considering the view on androids may vary greatly outside of Detroit, this Muse might feel any one way about androids and deviancy. They are the fresh perspective, the uncommon factor.
Option C: The Muse is an android. Most androids were scrapped and replaced by newer, "safer" models after the events of the game, and whatever older models are still around have slowly been decommissioned due to their age, so an android that experienced these events themself might just have been a deviant that managed to escape the authorities and remain hidden until now. Of course, just because an android is new doesn't mean they are truly immune to deviancy.
Option D: Whatever you come up with :)
When I first outlined this plot, I envisioned a returning police officer and their assigned android assistant working newly increasing deviant cases and uncovering a conspiracy around the fabled rA9 - which I never ended up defining. There is a wide variety of slice-of-life, action, and mystery possible here and I'd be super happy to workshop both the plot and the setting.

"Ladies! Gentlemen! Distinguished guests."
The Ringmaster turns a slow circle in the spotlight, practiced steps hardy disturbing the sand and sawdust to their feet. The bustling crowd falls into whispers as the lights dim. A shush here or there, a parent admonishing their child, the crewmen working the effects climb across the scaffolding high above as nothing more than a faint shadow.
The Ringmaster pauses in their turn, the hollow eyes of their painted mask locking on someone in the crowd, then move on without another reaction.
"We welcome you, strangers and long-awaited, to a night of daring stunts, dazzling displays, wonder and terror alike. Do not fear for our performers! They are well practiced and know Death well enough to avoid Her. Simply sit back and keep your eyes on the ring at all cost. This is a show you do not want to miss.
"It might just be your last."
The Circus of the Mask tours the continent with an ever growing and changing roster of unique and outlandish performances, constantly outdoing each other in a bid for fame and favour. Headed by its elusive Ringmaster, it brings wonder and terror to the young and old alike - and if it takes a little more than money for admittance, well. That's just showbizz.
-----
Le Cirque du Masque is a horror setting designed for survival through charisma. Every performer made a dark deal with the Ringmaster, who in turn keeps looking for new deals to make. As long as you are with the circus, you are safe and free to do whatever you wish; take what and who you want, know whatever there is to know, and see everything the circus does for as long as it travels. All you have to do is remain on the roster and perform every other night; do not mind all the masked crew and never sleeping animals working the lights and stables. Ignore the writhing shadows and the ever growing hunger for more in your gut.
The circus will provide - so long as the Ringmaster provides for the circus.
Muse A would be the Ringmaster, who I'd prefer to play (but as with everything, I'm happy to switch if you have a kickass idea).
Muse B would be a performer, someone who made a deal with the Ringmaster for whatever reason, usually survival. We could explore their journey from the moment they choose to join the circus to their indoctrination and fight to make a name for themself with the other acts, or they could have been chosen as a sacrifice and scramble to integrate themself in the circus to survive long enough to find a way to escape.
Alternatively, they could be an established performer (being in the circus for whatever personal reason) and explore the secrets of the circus and the Ringmaster from there.
Relationships in this are less expected, and most likely more along the lines of dark romance or non-romance. I'm happy to explore the dynamics we might end up with as their arise.
I played with the idea of making this a Group rp, so let me know if you'd rather see this through with more people!
