Since it's early discovery in the twenty-second century, Alphaios has floated covertly in the far trenches of space. The US government charter for the exclusive right to reconnoiter and inaugurate, commencing in two and half decades of mining and terraforming and a cache of valuable resources. Interest of the otherwise lifeless exoplanet spread like wildfire.

"Equating two Earth sizes, its lavender hue twirls innocuously like a stained pearl amongst the stars…"

A planetary exploration station is established in its low valley, housing the first crew eager to lay the foundation for colonization. Eighteen months into the mission, all communication goes dark. All attempts to reestablished channels fail. Military contractors are dispatched to investigate the source of blackout; they discover abandoned projects and partially consumed meals but fail to locate any member of the company. All salvageable research is collected and the project is closed for a short-time.

Ten months later, a foreign distress transponder originating from Alphaios is logged by a passing freighter-who, in the midst of reporting the phenomenon to the International Extraction Corporation (IEC), experiences a sudden systems failure that forces the ship to dock.

"And it's glory, crept across the universe, casting penumbras as ugly as the most violent of scars…"

As the balmy afternoon wanes into gelid night, the crew murmur rumors of the 'ghost crew' amongst themselves. Though, the initial theory arises that resources were diminishing and the remaining survivors turned to cannibalism, crew logs indicate something far more sinister occurred aboard the station.
