Romaine spent most of his childhood and adolescence in a monster hunter's school. His days were filled with combat training and simple medicinal classes centred around healing and performance enhancement, but Romaine did not prove to be an attentive student for the latter.

Abandoned as an orphan on the steps of a brothel, Romaine was raised by the working men and women of one of Khare's pleasure houses for before being gifted to one of the continent's monster hunting schools at the age of eight. He spent the next 10 years being schooled in the ways of the Hunter, honing his skills in tracking and slaying. Upon graduation, the Hunter set froth from the fortified walls of the school to make a living off the land by way of his services, slowly building a modest name for himself in certain circles for his fighters capability, and either a stellar or deplorable one for his capabilities in the bedroom, depending on who you asked.
