Welcome to November Sanctum!!!
A couple of minor (and one major) things to talk about today!!
- The Big Sanctum Survey
-
First: Sometime tonight, everyone on site will receive a private message from @sanctumstaff. This will include a link to and explanation of a survey we have spent the last few weeks planning out. Specifically, it is a way for us to answer a few questions like:
1. Who uses the site?
2. How they use it?
3. How they found us?
4. How we can improve it?
The survey is strictly anonymous and most of the questions are optional. In addition to the multiple choice questions, there are a few places for users to make anonymous requests and suggestions regarding the site. This will help us make decisions regarding everything from Forum layout to add-ons.
I will add up front: These are suggestions only. We are not going to commit to implementing any specific suggestion or request, we merely want some insight into how people are thinking and what they'd like to see. We are of course limited by the site software, staff logistics and by the simple desire to maintain core aspects of the Sanctum's identity. - Autumn (Theme) is Upon Us
-
Short and sweet announcement: @Jumbled has created an Autumn theme for all of you to enjoy. It's up and running, available to be picked.
Oh and it is foxy!!

- For those of you planning to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, just a reminder!! You can post about your progress, snippets or anything else you care to in our Novels Forum!!
- New Rules for Dungeon Masters (and how to apply)
-
The Sanctum created the Dungeon Master role all the way back in 2016. At the time, our intention was simple: Allow people to run tabletop games on the forums. And, of course, some people did. But over the years, the role has been used in a lot of diverse ways. We used it for a time as subject matter experts for The Outer Sanctum and a few users have used the title to run games on Roll20 or in chat. However, we have been held back to a degree by the limits on what the site can provide.
With the addition of the Announcement Server, we, at last, have a means to offer voice chat for site-sponsored games. Mikki has been running test games and this seems an outright success. As such, we are both opening the floor for new Dungeon Masters and expanding their roles.
The requirements:
1. Dungeon Masters must have been members for at least 3 months
2. Dungeon Masters must be actively writing on site
3. Dungeon Masters must have at least some off-site DM experience. Note, this is not limited to D&D. Any tabletop game is acceptable.
4. Before officially getting the title, dungeon masters must successfully run at least one game through the site, under staff supervision
The benefits:
1. Dungeon Masters get the unique name colour and badge
2. Dungeon Masters will be able to request recruitment threads for Tabletop games be pinned or featured
3. Dungeon Masters will be allowed to use the site announcement server voice channels. At the moment, that will be for Tabletop games, but we will consider allowing it for other games.
If you wish to apply, please message @sanctumstaff with a message titled "Dungeon Master", layout your experience, what you would like to run and when/how often you would like to run it. - Survey Link

Okay!! Now that you've read through those announcements, I'll also be posting the survey link here. I estimate it will take less than 15 minutes and we strongly request that as many users as possible fill it out.
If you notice any errors or bugs, please report them to me directly.
