come one, come all!

my name is brittanee — britt for short, and for ease. i’m relatively new to umbra, and am itching to dive into some roleplays. ideally, i’d like to search for a small handful of writing partners who i can build a close-knit writing relationship with. in my experience, this normally leads to multiple roleplays with one partner. as an AuDHD woman, this is something that i tend to prefer, as i find it lends to my desire for routine and spontaneity all at once.

now that i've got that low-key trauma dump out of the way, i’m going to write a few things about myself, along with a few things i would like in an ideal writing partner. then, we can get onto the fun stuff!
about me
☆ i’m twenty-seven.
☆ i live in rural australia.
☆ i work five days a week as a teacher’s aide at a local school. we’re wrapped for the year; however, i’ve got a lot of other commitments these holidays that will mean i'm still not available constantly.
☆ i study part time, and am currently undertaking a summer semester.
☆ i’ve been writing on-and-off since i was eleven. this means i would consider myself a literate writer (despite the severe lack of capitalisation in this post), capable of writing anywhere between one-line replies and upwards of 1,000 words per character.
☆ i will admit off the cuff that i tend to prefer to keep all of my roleplays and OOC chat in one place, and that one place, for me, is emails. i can be swayed towards discord as well, though emails are the one thing that i check regularly and keep up-to-date.

what i’m looking for
☆ someone who can commit to writing with me, at minimum, once a week. despite this, i understand that real life should be prioritised over the things we do online, and i understand that there are situations in real life that cause disruptions to our usual routines; however, i would appreciate if this can be communicated to me where possible.
☆ someone who is comfortable playing male characters. despite being pansexual myself, i have the most experience writing straight romance in my roleplays. slash has always felt somewhat clunky for me to write, which may have something to do with the fact that i haven’t experienced it in real life.
☆ someone who is comfortable doubling.
☆ someone who is committed to making the roleplay roughly equal-parts plotline and NSFW content. while i love a good, smutty pairing as much as the next person, i need plot progression and character development in my roleplays!
☆ someone who is comfortable with a considerable amount of OOC chat. (i love to yap! i love to plan!)
now that i’ve gone through that absolute slog of information about myself and what i’d like in a writing partner, we can move onto the fun stuff: what i want to write about! most of these will revolve around romance tropes and pairings, as that is what i love to write. anything with an exclamation point by it is what i’m particularly craving, though i’m open to writing any of these ideas.

fandom pairings
lucius malfoy x narcissa black (something that i’ve never written before, but am itching to delve into the minds of)
draco malfoy x hermione granger
head student house a x head student of house b (imagine this with a slytherin x hufflepuff slowburn)

general pairings
grumpy x sunshine!
princess x pirate!
athlete x medic
cowboy x city
bodyguard x celeb!

tropes
enemies to lovers
rivals to lovers
friends to lovers
ex-lovers reunited
small town!
unexpected pregnancy!
slow burn
single parent!
age gap!

plot bunnies
☆ too busy with their career to meet anyone naturally, a wealthy person pays a stranger to be their partner for the holiday season.
☆ two celebrities, who are constantly compared in the tabloids, threaten ruining their reputations all in one chance encounter. their PR teams work together to figure out a way out of this: they have to be friends to quell the rumours surrounding the nature of their relationship.
☆ your typical small town romance scenario: one character has lived in the small town their whole life, and never once ventured from beyond its limits, while the other character is either from the city, left the small town for the city, etc., but had to return home for whatever reason. the two meet, and we go from there.!

that’s essentially the crux of it! i’m also open to any suggestions as to what other people might be itching to write. i’m comfortable with a vast majority of things, so feel free to shoot me a message. i don’t bite… too much.

looking forward to hearing from you guys!
