Name: Kaye Silva
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Personality: He has a sterling reputation and is known to be a kind, compassionate, gentle and tame soul by the public. Kaye shows sympathy and concern for others throughout his days (regardless of whether they are an animal or a human) and thrives in the public eye. As well mannered as he is, there are many situations in which the tone of his words doesn't match the pitch of his voice; almost as if he's suppressing his real intentions behind his enticing smiles and inviting movements. He is guided by practicality, typically finding the most direct route towards his goals, ignorant of whether or not it is morally just or the right one.

image0.png

Appearance: About six feet in height, Kaye is tall and athletic, with a relatively muscular build and defined muscle structure that's usually visible through form fitting clothing. He has light colored hair of a pale platinum tone, and most of the time it is parted neatly in a civil, well kept manner, though several stray strands tend to cascade loosely down the sides of his forehead. Kaye has softly arched brows, a slender nose, and riveting eyes that seem able to pick apart and devour anything he sees. His bright pupils are a compelling mixture of emerald and gold, oftentimes more green and others more aureate. Out of fear for any lingering mutations from his serums (stray feathers, scales, talons) he is always covering his entire body in public— wearing suits when at work or conducting interviews or meetings and long sleeve shirts and pants when he has the opportunity for casualwear.

History/Backstory: Kaye works as a veterinarian for exotic animals, in which his primary duties are treating the fancy pets belonging to the wealthy and famous inhabitants of the city. As a side job and responsibility, he is the owner and conservation land manager for a forest reserve for endangered animals. He is known as the primary funder and donator of wildlife sanctuaries located around the outskirts of the city, and also has the reputation of housing exotic rescues within his own estate.

Most of the condemned experimentations on humans and creatures that he is involved in takes place under or around the forest reserve both for security and for ease of discreet access and transportation. Virtuous, but only in his mind— he desires a utopia, but is willing to go through any means necessary to make this dream a reality. A firmly rooted pragmatist, he will do whatever it takes to inaugurate the ultimate evolution.

In recent days, he's teamed up with a known supervillain that goes by Bionic, and the two have formed a codependent relationship in which the duo will create half machine half living organisms to test the extent of evolution and constructs combined. Kaye will provide serum injected creatures or humans in which Bionic will alter with cybernetic parts to create an even superior type of monster or beast.

"People will never bleed enough to fulfill your vision of justice."

Villain Name: Medico

unknown.png

Villain Appearance: He is fitted in a mixture of sable colored armor and crimson cloth. Beneath the crimson hood that hangs over his face is a plague mask crafted from a harsh iron or steel material, and the curved beak seems sharp enough to lacerate any flesh it may or may not come in contact with. At long range or in elevated positions, Kaye wields a bow and arrow in which he lathers the pointed heads with his experimental serums. In any other combat scenario, he will rely on a crossbow attached to his wrist with metal bolts with similar trial serums built within the shaft. Upon impact, the bolt will inject into the victim's wound and body whatever fluids were pre-deposited inside.

Superpowers/Abilities: He experiments on animals/creatures with the explicit goal of splicing their DNA with regular people to ultimately create the "ideal" human. The genetic mutation he participates in will enhance humans with traits (speed, hearing, smell, sight) with the express intention to evolve humanity enough that they could surpass calamities and create a utopia in which technology will reach a never before dreamed of potential. This also includes prevention of illness and disease, as well as the eventual attempt at averting death itself. Kaye himself gains atavism through his serum— he gains traits that have been lost down the line of evolution that he has reawakened through his procedures with animals and humans. Once injected into his bloodstream, he gains a mixture of animal abilities and traits that alter his appearance according to the particular strain. Examples would include wings from avians, fangs and claws from canines or more discreet adjustments such as the strength of large animals or the reflexes of felines.

Weaknesses: Too much of the serum can induce awful consequences like vomiting, internal bleeding, paralysis and on a more fatal spectrum, death. Too little of the serum can cause fleeting illnesses like a cough, sore throat, common cold or fever. At the perfect dose, he will gain his desired mutations and abilities, though for how long they stay it is hard for him to tell. Some traits have remained with him for years before fading, while others disappear after only a couple days or weeks. When modified with certain traits, he may or may not gain the more primitive/primal instincts of that mutation's animal as well. Due to these hazards, Kaye has spent hundreds of nights perfecting his dosage, but as he grows older or experiences slight change in weight or appearance, it too will consistently change and need adjustment.

Name: Chase Lanson
Age: 25yrs
Appearance: Standing at five foot nine, Chase has a slim to medium build. With the constant struggle to put on weight and keep it on, he has only been able to hold onto some moderate muscle tone from his frequent fights. He has fair skin and muted blue eyes that are often shadowed by his heavy brow. It isn't rare for people to think he's glaring at them, leaving him to explain that it's "just his face". Thick brown, wavy hair covers his head, usually untamed... he doesn't even try to fight it some days. He's lost one too many combs to the stubborn locks, so usually he just resorts to shoving his fingers through it to keep it looking somewhat styled.

History/Backstory: Chase was born into a lower class family, his parents working paycheque to paycheque and buried in debt due to his Father's gambling problems. With both parents working long hours he was often left home alone, dreading the daily banging on the door from the debt collectors. The loud pounding of a fist on their door seemed to shake their small apartment, and left him curled up in a closet, hiding in the dark. He felt powerless and alone until one day when the banging on the door finally shook the lock open. At the time he was in his early teens, just hitting puberty, when a group of men stormed in. Without his parents home, he was left alone to face the group of men that began to tear apart the apartment looking for money, and when none was found they turned on him. They said they wanted to 'teach him a lesson' so he didn't turn out like his 'good for nothing parents'. He could remember how hard his heart was pounding, the fear that jolted through his body, and the overwhelming desire to do something more than hide and cower. That was when his abilities torn to the surface, violently ripping free from his body and striking down every person in the apartment, including his father that had only just rushed through the door.

His Mother never forgave him, labeling him a murderer and abandoning him shortly after. Thankfully his Grandmother took him in, but Chase was never the same. He began to build walls around himself to keep people out, to keep them away. He never revealed his abilities to anybody, he wouldn't even use them in private, but he could feel the power practically flowing under his skin, yearning to get out. It wasn't until his late teens, when he came across a guy from school getting bullied. It wasn't an unusual sight to see at their school, bullies were everywhere when you went to a Reform school for 'troubled' teens... Because thats what his Grandmother said he was... troubled. It definitely helped him build a backbone, and maybe it was the formation of that confidence that urged him to help that bullied kid. He fought with just his fists, and despite being bloodied and bruised, he won. It was the first time anyone ever thanked him for his help, and the feeling it gave him was overwhelming.

He could help people.

Chase began to practice using his powers, and as his confidence grew so did his desire to keep helping people. He began to sneak out at night, stopping muggers and stalkers. He kept going and going until once day he heard people talking about him at school. That was where he earned the name Shade, thanks to his dark abilities. His name began to spread around and eventually he faced his first villain and won. That was when he began to get recognized as a Hero. But the fame didn't only come with perks, it came with critics. His biggest critic being a well known Hero named Captain Freedom, a hero known as a true patriot and hero for the people... With a super lame name, in Chase's opinion. He dragged Shade's name, claiming his powers were dark and foreboding, that there was no way he was a true hero. Because, of course, true Heros were bright figures of power and hope, while Chase was anything but that. People began to look at him like a threat, the only ones knowing his true nature being those he helped, but those voices were quiet compared to the Heros that didn't want him gaining any more traction that he already had. Freedom had even told him in person that he didn't 'belong' in the 'big leagues' with the rest of them. The big leagues being heros backed by companies and paid accordingly. The heros kids watched on TV and were plastered on their boxes of cereal. But that was fine, he didn't want the fame or the money. In fact, at first he truly wanted nothing but to help people, but as time passed he grew bitter towards other Heros... Their fakes smiles, tight spandex, and annoying catchphrases...

That was when he began to do things for his own self interest, his morals began to slip in and out of a grey area. He wasn't afraid to get blood on his hands or take lives as necessary. He became more cynical and his views on the world became jaded. His walls once again began to build up, keeping people at arms reach both in his personal life and his life as Shade. Despite all his flaws though, he still believes he is fighting for a noble cause, and deep down he still wants to help people... but every now and then he catches himself smiling as his hands take another rotten life, and it scares him.

Hero/Villain Name: Shade

Hero/Villain Appearance: He wears simple, all black street clothes and tactical attire. His mask is custom made metal that projects a holographic interactive HUD. With a voice distortion device built in it add an extra layer to protect his identity. His outfit is made for function, allowing him to blend in with crowds and shadows if he needs to make an escape. They are also shapeless and offer more for disguise than a skin tight outfit.

Superpowers/Abilities: Dark Energy Manipulation. The ability to create, shape, and manipulate dark energy. Usually drawn from and inter-dimensional or other similar sources. It can be channeled and used in many ways such as causing an absence of light, it can form into a solid, liquid, or gaseous state that can be shaped/manifested in several ways. Dark energy focuses on direct, destructive, and violently outward aspects of the spectrum.

In physics, dark energy is a hypothetical energy that permeates space, similar to dark matter, which makes up about 68.3% of the universe and is hypothesized to be responsible for the universe's constantly increasing rate of expansion.

With no guidance, he has learned to control his powers himself, and due to that he has not mastered them.
- He is able to us his abilities to form weapons from dark energy to fight with.
- He is able to release it to amplify physical attacks.
- He can absorb it into himself for a temporary increase in his physical abilities.
- He can conjure portals and forcefields

Weaknesses: (In their ability?)
- His ability can be directly countered by light manipulation.
- Accidental release of negative energy may occur.
- Focused purely on outwards and destructive/direct effects.
- Dark Energy is extremely dangerous, destructive, unpredictable, and sometimes unstable. The energy can possess damaging effects on the user's body and their sanity if they have poor control over it.

Villain Name: Bionic
Villain Age: 32
Villain Gender: Male

"Anyone who can be replaced by a machine deserves to be."

reliah-a-szade-amenhotep-royal-portrait.jpg

Villain Appearance: With a height of about seven feet, he is taller than most, if not all people that have been unfortunate enough to encounter him. He has very neat, arched brows and gleaming eyes with large, viridescent pupils. The tone of his eyes are nearly a neon green color, and they glow with an otherworldly light, though there is little to no emotion held within them. Bright emerald markings curve above his eyebrows and beneath his eyes, as well as forming smaller symbols at the bridge of his nose. More compact markings are sketched across the rest of his face, almost giving it a blueprint-esque feel to it. His entire jaw is made of a mixture of tungsten and titanium, virtually indestructible metal that tracks down his neck and shoulders towards the rest of his body. Bionic is capable of looking completely human except for his unexpressive eyes— all he needs to do is layer flesh colored material above his cybernetic or mechanical parts, though more often than not this 'skin' of his is stripped off his body during fights with heroes and other villains.

Superpowers/Abilities: At this point in his life, Bionic has more mechanical and cybernetic parts than human ones. Decelerated aging so long as he keeps his parts oiled, updated or replaced. Bionic is extremely intelligent and has enhanced endurance, durability and/or speed depending on how progressive his machine parts are. He has a completely mechanical arm that can reconstruct itself into almost any assortment of blade-like weapons. He has taken part in creating killing machines in the shape of robots or androids, all who take on the form of humans, and most of whom look human— most mimic people entirely, with realistic skin and hair. It's nearly impossible to tell them apart from a normal person until you scratch below the surface and find metal and wires instead of muscle and bone.

Weaknesses: If any of his parts are damaged or removed, he will have to create another one, and it can take up to several days of sleepless nights or longer depending on which one needs replacement. Extreme surges of electricity will interfere with his cybernetics and cause malfunctions or electric shock. Water will ruin his bionic body parts if it manages to seep through the protective exterior and into the inner wires.

Other: He seeks to bring on a mechanical revolution, claiming that humanity is inferior to machinery. Bionic wants to "evolve" the human race by replacing blood and flesh with oil and steel, believing that mortal flaws are easily corrected with steel parts. He has zero respect for anybody— villains, heroes and regular people are all considered to be beneath him due to their lack of potential when placed beside him. However, Bionic and Medico have maintained a shaky alliance over their similarly shared goal of seeking progress and evolution for humanity.

Captain Freedom
Aka: Freedom
Age: 30

Hero Appearance: Standing at six foot five and weighing in at over two hundred and fifty pounds, Freedom is solid muscle. With wide shoulders and muscles lining every part of his body, he is feared by those he faces and swooned over by his admirers. Freedom is the poster boy for Heros everywhere. Tall, muscular, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a charming smile... he is everything someone could want from a Hero. He is good at plastering on a smile for the cameras, but that smile doesn't always reach his eyes.

Powers/Abilities: As if his body is made of metal, his skin is nearly impenetrable, deflecting bullets and blades alike. Punching him would be like trying to slam your fist into a steel wall. Freedom's strength is also unmatched, able to rip entire houses off their foundations and crush cars like nothing. He is also able to take to the sky, flying with ease. Thanks to that he pops up all over the city. Wherever he appears, people scream his name as if he's a superstar. The amount of fans he has is endless, and he loves the attention. His powers seem pure, he is powerful but uses that power for good, so naturally people praise him for that. But things aren't always what they seem. Even the city's most loved Superhero has his secrets, and powers that are kept under the radar.

Other: Saying he's confident is an understatement, he is full of himself. He gets so high off the attention and praise from the public, it's almost like a drug. He loves the spotlight and it loves him, so he doesn't intend to share it with anyone. He will do anything to keep himself on top, even if that includes putting other Hero's in their place. He has a specific hate towards Shade, though the reasoning for it is unknown. He targets the younger Hero, appearing before him randomly to either keep tabs on him or threaten him. The two argue almost every time they cross paths, though it's always initiated by Freedom. He has dragged Shade's name since the Hero started gaining traction and he hasn't stopped since.
