M/C, a relatively successful financial analyst living in NYC, is living a pretty stable life that anybody would be jealous of: he owns a home in a wealthy neighbourhood, has a steady 6-figure income, and although his fitness levels and appearance that may not be what they were a decade ago, he is nonetheless conventionally attractive and fit enough for his age bracket.
But everyone has a secret in their life.
M/C's secret is that he is a single dad to Y/C, but only as far as the laws are concerned.
They're not biologically related in any way, as M/C simply won legal custody over Y/C against his ex-wife, who was (e.g., abusive, neglectful, etc.) making M/C feel that Y/C growing up in her house any longer would only make things worse for him. M/C genuinely did, and still does, care for Y/C and chose to become his father despite zero blood ties.
But at some point, what was once purely paternal started to morph into something else.
M/C wishes to continue to be there for Y/C as his legal father, and as someone who watched him grow since the age of seventeen. Perhaps some distance is required for him to get over his immoral feelings?
