Quick announcements!!

Small first:

1. Our own @Mikaela Corvid is going to be running some Chat D&D games on Wednesday nights in the Gaming Dungeon room!!!

2. Our new Smilies from @Jumbled haven't received an official alert so, here it is.

3. I am currently planning a September movie night, right now the plan is a Tarantino movie stream!! Requests are welcome, as are suggestions for a second movie night

The big one:

So a few months back, we updated our site rules to account for the growth in generative AI models

Specifically: "Content created by AI tools. large language models and similar technology are permitted only so long as no representation is made that the work created by such software is the creation of the person posting them"

We have however, had a couple of recent incidents where it was noticed that AI tools had been used for the creation of challenge entries. These entries were noticed immediately and removed, but it has been made clear that either this policy was not known or is not being respected. So, to clarify:

1. Use of any AI tool must be disclaimed, at the top of any post where it was used for any portion of the content. It can be used to fix spelling and grammar mistakes, but nothing more.

2. Any use of an AI tool for the writing challenge is completely and totally banned outside of the brainstorming stage. These challenges are about presenting your own work.

3. Any violation of either of the above will be treated in the same way as plagiarism. This is a writing site and the presentation of copy-pasted work as your own in any form will not be tolerated.

As always: Questions, comments, complaints, condemnations, death threats and clarifications can be posted below!!!

I mean... It's dead now.

Ghost. I did it.

Question: Do I still need to post a disclaimer to notify people of AI grammer and spell checking?

Or is the disclaimer only mandatory when the written content of paragraphs are tempered with??

The latter. As long as the writing itself is yours, using AI for minor corrections is allowed without disclaimer.
