As Otys announced last week, tomorrow is going to be a major update day for the Sanctum.
Live updates will be given on the site announcement's Discord.
At present, the plan is to start around 16:00 London Time (11:00 EST).
This is an unusual update, in that our primary focus is going to be on the site's server, rather than anything on the front end. The nature of the update means three things:
1. The site might or might not need to actually go down to complete the update. As always, we intend to plan for the worst and full notice will be given if downtime is needed, but the site might remain operational throughout and thus we cannot give a set-in-stone time for an outage. Updates will be given through the Discord and staff will be on hand to answer questions.
2. There will be noticeable slowdowns, which we expect you will start to feel around 18:00 London Time (13:00 EST)
3. This update will be long, far longer than our typical updates, likely a number of hours, though we are hopeful that it won't stretch overnight
As always, we will be making full backups of the site as needed and work posted to the site will be safe. That said, we do recommend saving drafts off-site, particularly during the course of the update as the slowdowns might affect your connection.
It has been suggested that I stream movies during the update... and suggestions would not be unwelcome
