About Me and My Wants and Needs:
About SexFirst of all: I'm asexual. If it was up to me smut in the roleplay would be kept to a minimum. Like, I don't mind mentions of it, or if a relationship in the story develops in that direction, I don't mind playing it out, but it will by no means be the main focus for me.
About Violence and Gore
I don't particularly have anything against violence in roleplays. Shit happens after all. Although I do draw a line at gore simply for the sake of gore, I won't object if your character is involved into something like a fight or accident and your writing goes into excruciating detail about the wounds you receive, inflict and/or observe.
Even then, my objection with gore for the sake of gore is not the violence. I've just realized that I've come to see it as the cheapest possible device in the horror genre. As if 'Instant Horror: Just Add Gore' is a thing.
No, just no.
About Post Length
I don't always write with a specific length, preferring to match my partner in that. That said, I'm most comfortable in the range of 300 to 800 words. Shorter than that, and I tend to miss details I want to include. Longer than that, and it tends to become full of information that really doesn't matter all that much. That's not to say super detailed writing is bad, it's just that there's details and there's /details/, and the latter tend to interrupt the flow of my writing.
About Spelling, Grammar and Posting Frequency
I don't require all that much from a partner when it comes to spelling and grammar, although I would of course prefer it if it was at least decent. When it comes to the speed of posting, it depends on the size of the posts. I do prefer to get in 2 or 3 replies a day, but I get that not everyone can handle that, and I'm fine with that. Still post at least a few times a week though.
About my first Pet Peeve: Inconsistency
If there's one thing that kills my mood for roleplay though, it's if you're inconsistent about your characters.
[If you call her Ruby in the first post, then keep it as Ruby, and don't change it to Sapphire in the second post, or Anya, or Raven or whatever whenever the mood strikes you. Unless, of course, those turn out to be aliases.]
Still, at least explain that. Similar things to keep consistent are physical looks and age, unless, again, there's something at play, be it a curse that changes physical features or something.
About Communication and Negotiation
As for communication between me and my partners, of course I'm open to that. I might not always be as chatty, especially when I'm working on posts, but I will try to reply swiftly. Do note that I'm narcoleptic, and that swiftness may vary because of it.
When it comes to negotiating though, I can be a bit inflexible in some regards. That's not to say I don't like if others add to things, in fact, I would love if it's not all on me, but if something goes against what I have planned I might get stubborn if I see what change it would bring as something that seriously influences the core of my ideas.
[There was this time for example, when I was working on a roleplay with a few people. I was in charge of fleshing out quite a few of the races and possible subplots, as were some others. One of the first ideas of someone was including vampires and werewolves in a High Fantasy setting. That was fine to me, I could even work with that.
So I spun this entire possible subplot about elves hunting vampires for ideological reasons, and werewolves being a tribe of cursed druids that often aided them in that, they themselves hating vampires for twisting their natural gift into this form.
But then someone saw it as a good plan to take the immortality of the elves away, and make them live for a few centuries at most. If he had told me about this idea beforehand, it would have been fine, but at that point there's was so much (9 out of 12 of the possible subplots I had created for the roleplay) hinging on elves having an undefined life span in some way, that I just locked up.
He was stubborn about this, I was stubborn about this, and the roleplay fell apart before it even began.]
--Next post will include my ideas--
