Halito! ("Hello" if you don't speak Choctaw. Thank both my heritage and my job for hammering that into my daily vocabulary. 😂) Thank you for taking the time to check out my req thread. Based on my last req thread, I think I'll try that format here again as well.

Well, this can really go one of two ways, but they both come from the same main idea.

Whether the writer is still around the same age, or if those days are behind them, everyone remembers that one week around March that every student looked forward to. I am, of course, referring to spring break. That's what we have here.

Having come home for winter break made MC a little bit homesick. However, whether it was the town itself, the family/friends he got to see, or that one particular girl, he just felt like spring break didn't exactly need to be one where he had to go on a road trip to Florida or California or anywhere else like that. Instead, he decided to head back to the tiny lakeside town of Preston, Texas, the small town that made him into the man he is now.

Where YC comes in, there are really three options right off the bat:
  • YC also attends the same college as mine, and whether they both know it or not, they both return to Preston. We can either have them be friends with each other and decide to share a ride back home to maybe get to know each other a bit better along the way, or maybe they don't (whether they were in the same graduating class or not) and only cross paths at some point during the week, possibly as soon as the day he returns.
  • YC attends a different college (any college in the world that has that spring break, whether a real college or one you just made up) and our spring breaks just happened to link up during the same week. I'm thinking this one could have them being in the same graduating class (so therefore roughly the same age) but if we're basing this off real life, they could have a slight age difference. I do also have a bit of an idea to go with this one as well if you want to go this route.
  • This one also has multiple options as well, centered around YC living in town still. Whether she never left, left and moved back, or moved to town before MC's winter break, she calls Preston home whichever way you want to put it. If there's a pre-existing acquaintanceship between them, that's where this story could stem from, or maybe she works somewhere in town and that's how they meet.
If you can't tell, these follow your basic small town romance storylines and I know some of you ladies are a sucker for this one, so feel free to hit me up with any other ideas for this if you'd like.
MC isn't homesick this time around and while he considered going back home, he spent the last few breaks, going back to last spring break, visiting his hometown, and this could very well be his last spring break, so he decides to hit the road and head down to the Gulf Coast and take in South Padre Island, near the Texas/Mexico border.

Where YC comes in:
  • She defies to accompany MC in a tandem trip, just the two of them. One or the other had talked during the early part of spring trrm about wanting to get out of town for the week and the other kind of threw SPI as an idea, and from there, they made plans and saved up money for the trip. Maybe one of them had feelings for the other that they wanted to explore, while the other had zero idea about them and it just came out of nowhere for them. Or perhaps it was just lust and they wanted to get it out of their system and thought the week away from everyone would be enough to do so while also enjoying the sights and scenery of another town.
  • Kind of the same basic idea as above, but they go as a group. One of the members of the group came from money and decided to rent an Airbnb for the week and everyone else pitched in while also planning for some food, drinks, booze, weed, gas, anything else to make the week worth it. We can both play the others in the group here and there, but remember our mains get top billing. It could go along those same lines as above. One had feelings for the other and wanted to explore, or simply wanted to get it out of their system. The latter choice, we can also switch between main and minor for those intimate scenes as well.
  • Both characters came to the island as part of a group... just not the same group. This one can actually go in two directions really. Either they go to the same college but have different friend groups or they go to different colleges and they're meeting each other for the first time (obviously). The former can have long-term potential, especially once we come to the end of the week (and can then roll into another part of the story), while the latter I see as being more short-term (unless we somehow decide they hit it off really well).
  • This one will more or less be more short-term, if anything. YC is a local of the island and therefore will have no expectations of leaving once spring break is over. She meets MC, either while on the job or while taking in some of the many spring break activities with the others around her age, and they hit it off pretty well. There's also a pretty quick attraction between them (doesn't mean they have to get intimate right away though). I'm not really a fan of cheating storylines, so I'd rather there not be any secret boyfriends/girlfriends to have to deal with. We can come up with something for this story though.
I do kind of want to follow these stories as closely as possible, but if you have any ideas to add onto them, I'm always open to it.

And now that you've read through those ideas, let me introduce myself to you, my next writing partner:
  • 90s baby
  • Writer for over a decade
  • US Central Time
  • Resides in the US South
  • Checks in daily for replies, messages, and other notifications
  • Will write at least 1-2x per week, depending on my availability
  • Works overnight schedule Sunday-Wednesday
  • Has Discord available for any OOC chatting
  • Writes exclusively in 3rd person
  • Usually mirrors my partner, but you can expect 2+ paragraphs of varying length per post at least 90% of the time
In addition to just writing the provided content, hopefully the last two apply to you as well. Even if English isn't your first language, I'll still write with you. I'm not the perfect writer myself, so don't feel bad if you're giving an honest attempt.

Also, this is just a bit of a side note, but I do write other college-based RPs as well, so if you wanted to incorporate a pairing between the two characters, feel free to do so. The ones I mainly do have MC be a college athlete, and some pairings I've done with those have been with another athlete (for this one, let's say MC is a football player who's in his off-season training and YC is also involved in a fall sport, so think of things like volleyball, soccer, or cross country), a cheerleader, a sorority girl, a nerdy girl, and even a goth baddie.

Anyway, I'm glad you took the time to read through this. If you've read through this, and like me have learned any word/phrase from your culture recently, and this is completely optional but preferred, include it in the title of your interest DM. I prefer DMs for interest, then consider comments on the thread, and if nothing else, I will then see if anyone reacted and take that as interest as well.

Chi pisa la chike! ("Until we meet again", since there is no direct translation anywhere in the Choctaw language for "goodbye" or "farewell".)
