Welcome. I go by many names, but I wish I were known for none of them.
It's a pleasure to be here! I'm a new member, and I'm excited to tell you a little more about myself.
I have limited experience, both with roleplaying and with writing. I used to write my own stories, before I got sucked into Discord (disgusting). However, I've realized that I can still use the power of fiction to rekindle the spark of creativity I've lost over the last few years.
My writing style tends to fall somewhere between poetry and perfectionism. The struggle of finding exact words to match emotions is one I've been learning to master as I live. It hasn't been an easy task. The English language offers very few materials to work with, in that regard - so, you'll have to excuse me for (frankly) sounding more like an incel than an introvert. I hope you know that, despite how I may be perceived, I will never lie.
I'm here to remind you, and myself, that there is love to be found in ultimate darkness. My characters, however, could have the potential to live in a godless world, in which there is no love from heaven to hold them. Respond to my roleplay however you please, but keep my inexperience in mind. I won't have the best answers. I might jump in when it's not my place. I'll come across as cringe at times.
I'd attribute it to autism if I were allowed to do so. But, I'm not, since I can't afford a diagnosis. Who can, in this abysmal American economy?
When I write, I take inspiration from anything I've seen that's impacted my worldview in some way. I'll be criticized for enjoying what I do, at my big age (21), but I've finally lived long enough to take pride in what I love. That could range from a flower blooming in a crack in the concrete, to the entire library of Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
I fully believe that every breath I take, and every beat of my heart, is a gift from my Creator. I love Him with my whole heart, and I won't hesitate to be proud of that, either. It could really get me killed someday, or so I'm told! It's easy to hide behind a computer screen and pretend that my life isn't miles better with Him in it - but there's a fire in my heart that just won't let me do that. With that being said, you'll forgive me for taking inspiration from the Bible, and its concept of spiritual warfare.
A question I often ask myself is: what if the battle of good and evil was physically visible? What if surrendering to the influence of evil was always made manifest in one's appearance? And, in this situation, would those submitting to the discipline of a good life always be seen as heroes?
In my experience, the duality of man is an incredible concept - one that I can't help but explore in detail. There are two sides to every story, as they say. And, as someone who knows what it's like to live in the trenches of Dissociative Identity Disorder... I find some existing stories about it to be disturbingly accurate. Jekyll & Hyde, for example, is obviously a self-side scenario gone sour. And my most favorite original character is based on that very tale.
This place seems to be full of people eager to tell stories of their own. Thank you for reading mine.
Sincerely, K&V.
