Tempest of the Fused World
A Fantasy Roleplay

Since the dawn of time, space and everything, both part and between, the Planes existed in well-defined separation. Where there might have easily been chaos and disorder, there was enduring stability which ensured that everything was and always would be in its place. Each was plane distinct from one another, obeying the rules of each reality encapsulated within, like a ethereal patchwork that extended into infinity, woven with care by beings whose power was matched only by their care. Thus, in the great vastness and countless bodies of the multi-plane existence, and in the immeasurable time that it existed, never once had even a single plane come remotely close to even brushing up against another. But, suddenly, in an era otherwise wholly unremarkable, a portion of the great patchwork somehow folded over onto itself. Three planes: Yimeria, Kulsarix and Vurdoma were pressed together and gradually began the process of fusing into one.

Of the three planes, Vurdoma was the newest addition to the ethereal patchwork and as such, akin to a unshaped marble awaiting an artist's hammer and chisel. Thus, Yimeria and Kulsarix warped around it, changing Vurdoma into a plane that was unlike any that had come before it. For the beings that existed within Vurdoma, as they were able to observe it, the change was subtle at first. Despite the incredible importance of the events that had occurred beyond their perception, life largely moved on as if everything was still rightly in its own place. Steadily, however, the imperfect fusion of the planes began to twist into paradigm shifting focus. And, unfortunately for those of Vurdoma, it was the infernal plane of Kulsarix which manifested first.

Kulsarix, a extremely chaotic plane by nature, thrust its horrible volatility onto Vurdoma. It began with a turn in weather patterns. The summers grew longer, the winters became harsher. Then, the shifting plates far beneath the surface became more active, their collisions more frequent. In a few short years, the shift became far more pronounced. Storms and geological events of unprecedented magnitude tore through both sky and soil, wreaking havoc and devastation across the plane. Rifts in continents formed, tearing great continents apart, new and active volcanos burst up from the deep and filled the air with ash. New rivers, seas and oceans were formed as water rushed into the cavernous depths. When it seemed that the worst was over, the denizens of Kulsarix began to partially materialize on Vurdoma and, for their brief stays, wrought fear and panic into all those who laid eyes upon them. And while unable to remain on Vurdoma, their monstrous and distorted visages and their penchant for indiscriminate violence and hunger for destruction, was forever imprinted into history and legend. The shroud of Kulsarix finally settled.

Yimeria, a densely wild, richly natural and untamed plane, manifested shortly after Kulsarix's incursion and was, in stark contrast a healing salve for Vurdoma. The broken lands began to heal, the jagged lines of scars that marred the continent began to soften and an air of calm swept across the plane. However, unlike the first event, the barriers which had held Kulsarix partially in check had been considerably diminished and Yimeria's influence on the plane was even greater than its predecessor and the great untamed wilds of Yimeria surged into Vurdoma. The wilderness reclamation dragged great cities into dense forests, towering mountain ranges cracked the planes to form new borders, the oceans took on new depths and spread further than previously charted and so too did the deserts expand into greater seas of sand. The wildlife took on new vigor and became greater in size, number and in some cases, ferocity. Vurdoma had, in that healing, taken on considerable mass from Yimeria and become largely unrecognizable. The blessing of Yimeria finally rested.

In the years following the two great events, the beings of Vurdoma gradually rebuilt their lives, homes, cities and infrastructure as far as the wilds would allow. They took on the new challenges faced with the rebirth and reformation of wildlife and like those who came before them, domesticated all that they could for sustenance. Thus, while life seemed to have settled into a new calm, a new chaos was bound to breach the horizon.

The first sign came with the Sun Mother. The skies over the capital had seemingly burst into beautiful flames as she crossed from Yimeria into Vurdoma and gracefully descended onto the fertile soil of a farm that was nestled against the border of the forest which surrounded the outskirts of the city. Though her grace and patience allowed for the fevered excitement and current of fear to mostly settle amongst those who gathered at her landing, the news that she brought with her was nearly enough to set the crowd into a frenzy. With her first breath, she told all who could hear that Kulsarix was coming. With her next breath, the Sun Mother offered a potential solution to the impending invasion, that Yimeria would stand with them against infernal plane. With her final breath, The Sun Mother the might of her creation, the great spirits that inhabited the wilds of Yimeria to bolster Vurdoma's strength in the coming days, weeks, months and years against Kulsarix. And, without another word, the Sun Mother rose into the sky and faded from perception.

In the coming days, the Sun Mother's promise bore fruit in the vessels chosen and reborn by the will and power of the great spirits.

Welcome to the recruitment, OOC and discussion thread for Tempest of the Fused World! This is a fantasy roleplay that will hopefully be filled with all sorts of fun and harrowing adventures! The basic plot is that our characters have been chosen as vessels by the great spirits of Yimeria and given the power to fight against the forces of Kulsarix which are trying to take over Vurdoma completely. At the start of the story, we will all be based in the capital city and surrounding lands which will be the first to experience the invasion. The denizens of Kulsarix are vast, varied and vicious, so be ready for a fight!

Everyone is free to create their own adventures (big and small) and help to shape the world's story as it gradually unfolds! If you'd like a bit of direction, input, or help in setting these events into motion, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to lend a hand!

While there will be a considerable amount of action in this story, that doesn't mean you or your characters wont have the opportunity to stop and smell the roses. Explore the city, the forests, mountains, seas and so on! Spark up relationships with other characters and enjoy those slices of life!

Most importantly, have fun! What adventures await your characters?! Let's find out together!

For More Details, Check The Posts Below!

The thread is open! Let's talk!

Character Sheet

Note: The following is a rough idea of what you can/should include in your character sheet. I'm not really a stickler for things looking one way or another, so long as they can be read and understood. Ultimately, I really want to give everyone to evolve from the base that a character sheet provides. We're getting to know them as much as they are getting to know each other. With that in mind, I want you to think of your character sheet as opposed to a rigid set of details that your storytelling must adhere to. With that said, here's the basic character sheet:

Name: (Formal, nickname and otherwise)
Age: (Must be 18+)
Gender:
Sexuality:
Appearance:
(Feel free to use a picture or a description)
Personality:
Great Spirit:
(name and describe the spirit that has chosen your character)
Elemental Affiliation:
Abilities:
(what are some of the abilities/powers bestowed upon your character)
Backstory: (What is your character all about? How was your character chosen? Be as detailed as you like.)

Feel free to add any additional details or categories that you feel help flesh out your character!

Note: When you submit your character sheet, I may ask you for clarity on points before approving them for the roleplay. And again, remember, I'm not really strict about these things. So, most likely you're gonna get to play your character as proposed unless it's like, wildly out of touch with the story and setting.
