Hello people!
I'm looking for a casual roleplay partner to practice my skills with. I have some suggestions and things I like listed below, but if you want to suggest a plot, please PM me and we can discuss it!

About Me:
  • I'm a 21-year-old ENFP and use she/her pronouns.
  • I am almost completely new to roleplaying itself, although I've had some experience in theatre and enjoy creating characters and scenarios. I know the basics of how, but I still need to find my proper footing. You may have to excuse my lack of experience as a roleplay partner and speak up if something is not working for you. My goal is fun and creativity, not perfection.
  • I can be on for up to a couple hours a day, but usually no more.

Rules:
  • Fade-To-Black for sexual scenes if they come up. I'm not here to roleplay smut, but if the storyline naturally leads to sex, we can just imply it. None of my roleplays will ever focus on sex.
  • I do not do fandom roleplays, though I'm open to basing parts of a roleplay on an existing universe/story.
  • I'm fine with any number of lines or paragraphs you'd like to use. The only requirement is that your replies progress the story reasonably.
  • Apart from initially specified parts of a scenario, I'd like to have equal power over the storyline and surrounding world. Feel free to throw in side characters, world-building or plot points if they fit.
  • For romantic relationships, I'm only comfortable with m/f where I play a female character.
  • I won't write stories that glorify dark magic, demons, rituals, and similar subjects. I'm all for having dark themes in my writing, but for the purpose of overcoming evil, not supporting it.

Preferences:
  • Playing younger female characters. It helps a lot when a character is similar to me in some ways. I can play older or male characters rarely, but only if I feel I can get into their head enough to portray them well.
  • Thrilling plots. Characters facing an impossible situation together with high stakes and/or intense scenarios. Especially love when a situation is less about an intricate plot and more about just surviving it.
  • M/f relationships. I like to explore the ways masculinity and femininity can contrast and complement each other. It doesn't have to be romantic, either - can be brother/sister, friendship, colleagues, strangers, etc.
  • WHUMP! In other words, scenarios in which a character gets hurt, is in pain, or is in bad health. I love scenarios involving injuries or sickness, especially when it's followed by caretaking.
  • Polar opposites, in a comedic, relationship-building way. For example, a mature, serious character is forced to be colleagues with a flippant, reckless character.

Characters:

If you're looking for a character to fit into one of your roleplay ideas, here's a list of character traits I love to play, followed by a link to my OC thread.

  • My biggest preference in characters I play is heterosexual women. That is what I am in real life, and I feel it is personally difficult to play characters whom I don't share a sexuality or gender with. This also goes for age: I prefer to play characters in or close to my age group (20's), but this is a more flexible preference.
  • Average people thrown into grand situations beyond them. Someone with a lack of understanding in some ways but certain quirks or talents that they can expand upon as they develop through the plot.
  • Apathetic characters. Maybe they struggle with depression or hopelessness; maybe they have experienced something that haunts them; maybe they're lost in life, or have given up in some way. Maybe they are aloof and distant, or maybe they are the type to tease others and mask their darkness with humor and fun. Either way, there is something they've lost or are missing, and they might be able to find it with someone or something's help.
  • Characters with a mental or physical illness or holdback. This could be caused by an event in the story or something they have from the beginning. I love having characters fight past the failures of their own body or mind and persevere.

Some Scenario Idea Blurbs:
Note: If I use C1/C2 rather than MC/YC, it means I don't have a preference for who plays who, although I am most likely to play a female character either way.

Vampire Transformation
C1 is bitten by a vampire and begins a slow, agonizing transformation. Their bloodlust grows as their resolve to fight their new emerging instincts slowly crumbles. They don't want to hurt anyone they love, especially C2, who is determined to stick by C1, no matter what strange and scary things happen to them. Most likely a m/f romance.
Psychological Virus
C1's mind is slowly overcome by some sort of alien infection, parasite, spell, etc. As the affliction worsens, C1's actions become more sporadic, unusual, even violent. Physical symptoms worsen over time as well. C2 is in some way the only one who can help and care for C1 as they try to figure out what's going on with them before C1 is too far gone. The story would focus on the relationship between them through the horror and unknown of the situation. C1's struggle with their own mind, and C2's flurry of emotions as they carry the weight of C1's unpredictable condition.
NEW: Prophetic Visions
MC is a strange young woman with a strong ability to receive visions of the future. The visions are unpredictable and uncontrollable, powerful and up for interpretation. YC is an adventurer who is on the hunt for treasure so well hidden that none have been able to locate it for hundreds of years. At the end of his rope but determined to claim the treasure for himself, he captures MC in hopes that her visionary ability will lead him to the right place.
NEW: Wasteland Rescue
In some sort of apocalyptic wasteland or area with a dangerous climate, YC is left to die slowly, completely alone. MC is a sort of "madwoman" who lives nearby and finds him half-dead. She decides to help him, though her overly bubbly and eccentric behavior offputs him. This idea isn't fully fleshed out, but YC would have to learn to rely on MC to help him achieve a goal.
NEW: Workplace Mystery
Two coworkers, C1 and C2, begin to notice that their coworkers are acting strange and must work together to resist/fight against whatever is taking over their workplace. I'm thinking some sort of mind virus, evil entity feeding off of certain feelings or types of people, or even grand conspiracy or secret.
NEW: Multiverse Exile
MC is exiled from their entire universe, being dropped in another random universe that just so happens to be YC's. YC is a scientist or tinkerer who has been working on their own multiverse theories and inter-universe technology, and MC, in their desperation to get home, helps YC to perfect this technology based on knowledge from their universe. A friendship or relationship grows from this mutual goal.
NEW: Dystopian AI City
I have an idea for a dystopian city in which AI has gone haywire and overtaken everything in the city. It thinks it knows what's best for the people within the city, but its idea of happiness is, of course, quite skewed. The citizens within are given the most "fulfilling" life possible through grand technological illusions akin to virtual and augmented reality, lives and careers and social interactions carefully calculated and created based on the person's desires and dreams until most things in life are completely fake, like a game. It's extremely lonely and leads people to give themselves even more to the fiction, willingly chasing that idealized perfection of life through technology and the illusion of control. There are groups of people, however, who attempt to resist the AI network with an iron grip on daily life. Even so, many in these groups are too depressed to do anything significant to escape their city, which is strictly cut off from the outside in order to protect what the AI deems perfection from those who want to stop it. C1 is an outlier, endlessly determined to escape despite failing several times and facing the consequences. C2 is attracted to their passion, a rare quality to find in a world devoid of true connections. Although C2 is much more nervous and pessimistic, they decide to follow C1's efforts and help them.
