I'm keen on this being in a setting that is modern but I am also open to modern/ fantasy setting. Is this a marriage to join two rival companies together or neighboring kingdoms? The woman would rightfully have reservations, yet her family would emphasize the importance of tradition and duty. Perhaps the man is charming and composed, with an intensity in his eyes that both intrigues and intimidates the woman. Initially, their relationship could be polite and tentative or it could be distant and cold with the pair staying away from one another unless the man wants sexual relations from the woman. There's something about the man's confidence and expert guidance that draws her in, and she finds herself wanting to please him. He sets different boundaries and rules to give the woman a false sense of security wishing to see what her limits might be before pushing past them. As time passes, the man's controlling nature could become more pronounced. Making decisions for the woman, from her wardrobe to her social interactions, and things in the bedroom. In the beginning, she might appreciate the attention, but over time she begins to feel suffocated and less like a person.
