Many years ago, the Elves, who had ruled these lands for over a millennia, were washed away by a wave of corruption that was their undoing, and this gave rise to the Time of Men…
Centuries after those Humans came to power, having built great and prosperous nations, they too succumb to greed and corruption, opening the door for the Darkness to rise and cast its Shadow of Desolation upon the lands…
But that Shadow does not rule or desire order; it craves ruin and chaos, death and destruction. All that remains of those previous ages are isolated communities and the ruins of a more prosperous and gentler time.
But there are sparks in the darkness, and should a fire take hold it could burn away the desolation, but few dare to hope…
The Dark Wizard’s Apprentice
It is a dark world. Societies and social order is in decline and magic is looked upon with great suspicion. Those in the kingdom who display any magical affinity are taken to the Enclave to be educated and trained in its use, usually against their and their family’s will. Few of these candidates survive the challenges they face once behind the dark structure’s outer walls. With the shadow of desolation having fallen over the land, even the council who lead the Enclave have fallen to corruption and despair.
One of the wizards at the Enclave is not what he appears to be. He is a dark being of some hundreds of years old. He has watched helplessly over the past century as the darkness spread across the lands and he can see that even the Enclave itself has fallen to its cold embrace. Now, he’s determined to either push back the darkness or take command of it for his own purposes. But first he needs to deal with the Enclave’s corruption and for that, he will need the help of a special student…
This is meant to be a dark story set in a dark world. I’m looking to play the dark wizard, looking for a suitable apprentice with which to take control of the darkness and rule over it and the world. The apprentice can be bratty and/or difficult, completely subservient or created however you like, as she or he will need be forced to bend to the dark wizard’s will. For those interested in FxF the wizard could be a sorceress in disguise, and this would be revealed to the apprentice early on in the RP.
