Story

For most, free will is but an illusion, yet most will never know the truth. They think they have choices, but in truth, they are set in stone. Precious few can truly make their own decisions, decisions that can shape the world. Yet someone who can truly See the destinies of the world comes only once in a millennium. They can See not only what is, but what has been, and what will be.

For years, the Raesheng Empire flourished. It was a sight to see. There was nothing that could stand before its army. The Empire expanded rapidly for years on end. The harvests were plentiful, the cities boomed. But the birth of the Empress's daughter marked the beginning of the end. She was a frail child, and far worse, utterly blind. Many close to the Emperor saw it as an omen of dark times to come. Her existence was kept secret for her early years until she began to exhibit spells of fainting – that sometimes took days to wake from. This was an early sign of the Sight, manifesting itself in ways few could understand. She was sent far away from the capital and given a relatively normal, noble life, not knowing her mother was the Empress.

Two years later, a son was born. He was an inversion of sister –a strong, healthy, babe, who grew up with anything such a boy could want. He was schooled in combat, tactics, politics – everything he needed to be a great Emperor. Through the following years, life appeared normal in the Capital. The usual backstabbing and politicking, nothing more. But on the fringes of the Empire, the tides were turning disastrous. Their once unstoppable army finally stretched at the distant end of long supply lines, lost to a fortified mountain hold. As they retreated, uprising after uprising began to appear as news of their defeat, and the end of the imperial dynasty began to thread.

Most tacticians and generals felt that the defeat shouldn't have happened. Savages, the lot of the empire's enemies. No one could have predicted it – yet one did. The daughter of the Empress. Her caretakers thought her mad and catatonic for days as she began whispering the of doom, and fractured empire and provinces bathed in the blood of revolt. Her caretakers were horrified when the news reached them, and rumor spread quickly of a secret imperial heir who could spin the threads of fate, and see the whole tapestry they created.

A year passed, then two. Rumors of the heir faded to behind closed doors and nearly was forgotten entirely. Then, an unknown assailant slit the throat of the Empress, throwing the Empire into complete chaos. Two actively vye for the throne - the rightful heir, and the Ursuper. But the talk of the secret heir was not forgotten by all - and suddenly, she is the most wanted woman in the Empire, for she holds the fate of the future in her very mind.

Requirements

  • Multi-Paragraph (2-4, Depending on scene), Literate RP. If you don't think you can meet this, this probably isn't the RP for you.
  • Ability to play multiple characters. They can be central to the story, though that is optional. Mostly, this will just be random side characters when necessary.
  • Able to reply once a week. Exceptions can and will be given, assuming it does not become a regular occurrence.
  • Communication! This is a group RP, and a rather unique one at that, with visions of what is to come - I'll get into that later. That means communication is even more important than normal.
Characters

Taken By: Me!

For years, Momei was nothing more than a lunatic, living a life of luxury by her blood alone. But all of that changed five years ago, when her predictions came true, beyond all beliefs. Suddenly, guards surrounded her estate, and the Empress regularly visited her, albeit in secret. Her condition never improved - she was still as blind and frail as she had been born, but she learned to control the Sight, as best she could teach herself.

**Note**

So, this is my way of pulling off a prophetic character. Visions will guide many of the RPs major events and will be discussed as a group. I've also considered her giving her some power over the dead - but not sure with that one.

Taken By:

Backstory is pretty much set in stone, but he is your character. Take him where you want him.
M

Could be another Noble, could be an enemy of the empire. Again, up to you!
M/F

Could be advisor/companion to Emperor, or protector of Momei.

It's possible that both of these could be characters, depends on interest.
M/F

It's possible that more characters will be added later on, or as side characters. If you have suggestions, feel free to ask.

Interested?

I prefer PMs, letting me know what character you want, and a general idea of where you want to go with the character. A character sheet is optional. Make sure you meet the requirements before doing so.
