The Godfrey Sisters

Athena Godfrey is a classic beauty, with a waterfall of dark auburn hair that flowed down the length of her back. The intensity of her green eyes only dulled by her sultry, bedroom eyes. Her small, full lips usually turned into a come-hither smile. The only marks on her otherwise flawless, fair flesh was a small number of freckles on her nose and cheeks. Her body was slender but toned.

Athena uses her sexual allure to her benefit quite often, and is often seen chatting up powerful and wealthy men. It was apart of her job after all. While in college she bartended at a few bars and that's were she met the people who helped to grow her name. It wasn't just her beauty that captivated those around her. She was smart and quick-witted.

If you thought Diana Godfrey was a cold hard bitch it's because she was. Full of spunk and attitude she was a natural born rebel. Her jet black hair was finally growing again after her most recent cut; nearly reaching her shoulders. Extremely athletic and competitive beyond belief. She tackles any problems or obstacles head first. Like her sisters, her skin was fair but she did have one flaw visible on her face. A scar under her left eye from a childhood accident, to which she makes incredulous backstory on how got it.

Phoebe Godfrey is the youngest sister. She is often seen as the most reserved and fragile of the three. The duo combination of her albinism and heterochromia sets her apart from her sisters. The story of her conception also didn't help. Even if she hated it, she was compared to a fairy. Her skin is extremely pale, her veins spun into webs visibly under her skin. . Her white hair was usually straightened, however it naturally fell into curls that reached her back. She is the silent type; she shies away from any and all attention.

Shared Memories
Unable to contain her excitement, Phoebe jumped up and down trying to catch a glimpse of James as he put the finishing touches on a large bowl of ice cream meant to be shared between herself and her sisters. Judith had to run to her own mother's house, the aging woman couldn't do for herself anymore. As he picked up a small jar full of maraschino cherries, the top of Phoebe's head came into contact with his elbow. His nerves exploded and down to his fingertips making his drop the jar. The sweet red syrup oozing onto the floor. The four-year-old rubbed her head, clearly having felt his elbow. If she wasn't already on the brink of tears, James reaction assured her reason to cry. He took the tiny hand that was rubbing the spot on her head, pulled her up and popped her three times. Her sobs filled the kitchen and Athena rushed to the scene.

Without saying a word, she moves swiftly to remove James' grasp on the sobbing tot. "What are you doing?" the nine-year-old stood in between her father and her sister, she was unable to hide her anger. Without so much as a word, Diana came in swinging, the young child hardly doing any real damage. The eldest pulled the dark-haired kid off and ordered, "Go with Phoebe. I'll clean up." Tears filled all of their eyes, Athena and Diana was tears of anger and rage; Phoebe from fear and pain. Diana begrudgingly took her sister's hand and taking her away. The red-haired child was deathly silent as she found what she needed to clean up the sticky mess. James was silent, guilt starting to creep in his chest. "You didn't have to whoop her." Her voice was uneven as she pointed out what he already knew. "She sees me doing something she doesn't need to be under me like that." He defended himself, hardly believing he had to. She hand picked the glass from the floor, James moving in to help with what he could. "She's four, it was a jar." He rolled his eyes; he didn't hurt her; just her feelings. "Diana has broken three windows in the past year. You never whooped her."

Athena may have been young, but she knew about how Phoebe was conceived. Her grandmother on her father's side couldn't keep that a secret from a five-year-old. It was obvious to even Diana who didn't know, his side of the family treated Phoebe different, and it wasn't just because of how she looked. While James tried to not let his resentment show, Athena paid attention. The pair finished cleaning up, "Can you take the ice cream to Phoebe. Tell her I'm sorry." Athena hesitated but responded, "I don't know if she is going to want it, but you need to say sorry. I didn't hurt her." The words stung; James prided himself on being a good father. He knew Phoebe was not his but a masked stranger, to the little girl, he was her father. She knew nothing else.

It wasn't long before Athena brought back the ice cream with venom still in her words, she relayed a message from Phoebe, "She said, 'You can have it since she made you so mad'." It wasn't long until Judith came home and they got into an argument. His fiery wife more direct with him treating their youngest differently.

The following morning, James sat in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in one hand and the newspaper in the other. Judith was silent as she made the plates for their kids before they were due to come down stairs to start their day. Athena was the first to show and she ate quietly. Whispers could be heard from the hallway and then Diana appeared and put a hand on her hip and asked, "Phoebe wants to know if your still mad at her?" she stared at James who froze in his seat. He could see Phoebe standing behind the doorframe, only showing her green eye. He could see the sadness and cautiousness and he couldn't imagine ever seeing Athena or Diana with such a look. "Phoebe, baby. Come here." He freed his hands and faced the door. Diana moved to take her seat. The little white hair fairy stood pinching her lip as if to hide her face. Judith watched the scene letting James take the time to apologize to her. "I'm really sorry." She spoke, her words were muffled. He extended his arms and the girl took a few timid steps towards him until she was at arm's length. She placed a tiny hand into one of his large, rough hands. She kept her gaze down, staring at how easily his hand swallowed her own. "Look at me Sweetie." He wanted nothing more than watch the sadness leave her eyes, "It wasn't your fault. You didn't anything wrong. I'm sorry." He pulled her into a hug. She relaxed and looked up with a small smile. Immediately withdrew when she saw the flash of resentment in his eyes.
