Hello! You can call me Midge. I am a thirty-plus year old swamp hag who has been writing on and off for something over two decades now. I'm back to the site after a long hiatus and am looking to take on one or two new partners. I already have one incredible partner that has spoiled me, so I don't want to take on too much to the point where that story suffers. Apologies up front but I will be picky - and I would expect you to be picky too! Please know there will never be any hard feelings if we just don't "mesh" as writers, but sometimes it just doesn't work out and that's okay.
Anyway, onto what I am looking for, and what you can expect from me as a partner!
EXPECTATIONS: the must haves
GENRES/SETTINGS I LOVE: be still my heart
GENRES I LOATHE: not a fucking chance
DO YOU WRITE SMUT/GORE/VIOLENCE/ETC.?
Yes! I do enjoy a certain level of spice, angst, and dramatic tension in a story. It should not be the sole focus of the story and should come naturally. I would much prefer that a connection forms organically between our characters instead of trying to force something just for some smut. And since most of my stories tend to involve darker themes, things like violence tend to be prevalent.
DO YOU WRITE FANDOMS?
Nah, bruv. All of my plots are usually inspired by something, but I prefer the worlds and lore usually be original. I will happily spend all day fawning over ACOTAR, Tamora Pierce, or Mass Effect with you but I just feel like I have more creative freedom in a world we create ourselves.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PLOTS/STORIES?
I'm so glad you asked! Below are the plots I have come up with, but I am very outside plot-friendly! If you have a plot or idea you want to try that you think I might like, by all means please share it! Okay, now we're getting down to the nitty gritty. More will be added as I come up with them. If I have a preferred character I would like to play, it will be *marked.
DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD?
I guess all I can say is if you think we might be good partners, hurry up and send me a DM already! What are you waiting for?

- 25+ years old
- My posts typically range between 500-1000 words and I write strictly third-person past tense, but as always quality over quantity! Shorter posts for dialogue or quick action, longer replies for more introspection, you get the idea. You can get a feel for my writing style here.
- I'm rather vanilla and prefer MxF pairings but I play both male or female characters depending on the story
- Comfortable with darker or adult themes like sex, violence, trauma, or gore (always happy to discuss beforehand, but expect these types of themes in my many of stories)
- I can typically reply at least once every few days (often daily) but at least one reply every 2 weeks is the minimum that I ask for in reply. If you are capable of multiple replies a week, even better!
- World building is an absolute must for me. If you have a thirst for creating lore or enjoy OOC planning, sharing headcanons, etc. then we should get along just fine. It's not required, but it helps not being the only person coming up with ideas.
- I have never tried doubling but I usually like to include side characters or NPC's to help keep the story moving along
- DM's only for OOC chatting, at least for the initial communication (I barely understand how to use Discord, humor me). Feel free to share things like mood boards, pinterest boards, or inspo boards though!

- Fantasy: The more fantastical the better. Give me fae, magic, shifters, dragons, elves, beasts, and more. Let's create a world of wonders and horrors together. Historical fantasy is also acceptable, but I usually prefer to create fictional worlds.
- Science fiction: Generally what I consider to be THE underrated genre. Here again, the "space-y"er it is, the better. Aliens, belters, space stations, life on a cramped ship, apocalyptic planets, dying stars… I can never get enough.
- Supernatural fantasy/historical fiction/mythology: More specifically, I have a plot for a supernatural western (think cowboys and werewolves), but I am also down for supernatural or mythological stories too! Just no modern, sorry.
- Romance: I'm a basic bitch and I love romance okay, fight me on this. I'm talking those slow burn, touch-starved, "I would destroy the world to get to you" kind of romances. Some of my favorites are:
- Enemies to lovers (or enemies to begrudging ally to lovers)
- Forced proximity (give me that drama of having to huddle around the campfire for warmth, or waiting out a storm)
- Slow burn (there's nothing wrong with an instant connection but let's build some tension)
- Mates/fated mates ("her soul calls out to mine and I answered" kind of shit here)
- Dark romance (give me the stories with cruel twists of fate or that punish them for wanting to be happy. I'm not saying they don't get a happy ending, but make it worth it)
- Beauty x beast (a tormented soul who finds kindness in someone else)
- Forbidden romance/lovers on opposing sides (I mean, c'mon)

- Modern: Snoozefest.
- Slice of Life: It's absolutely boring as shit, sorry, not sorry. I roleplay for the escapism.

- The Wolf and Lady Gold - OPEN
- Genre: Fantasy
- Themes: Arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, slow burn, forced proximity, reluctant allies
Characters: Male (A) (any race, could be magical of some kind; invading king and betrothed) x *Female (B) (any race, could be magical of some kind; warrior princess/betrothal offering)
When a bloody and never ending war threatens to extinguish both of their lands, the young and newly crowned King of Wolves (A) succeeds in averting more bloodshed by subduing a rival king in single combat. When (A) fells the significantly older and weaker king, he does so without murder and his demand is simple: a bride for an end to an unnecessary war. (A) had no need or want for a wife, but the young king's need for allies was great and his council of advisers were easy to sway him. It mattered not to him, if it meant his people would get the resources they needed to fight a new and looming enemy that threatened all of their kingdoms. The king's eldest daughter, (B) is chosen, the treaty signed, and wedding planned in the span of two days. It's only when (A) and (B) meet for the first time on the day of their wedding they they both realize they met actually have met before - three days ago on opposite sides of a blade.
Against her father's wishes, (B) had been leading a double life, waging knee deep into battle beside her people for years. She was always careful to conceal her identity, donning a gleaming gold helm that over the years earned her the battlefield moniker of Lady Gold. She was some mysterious golden valkyrie that had swept in and turned the tides on more than one fight. But three days ago, the Wolf King and Lady Gold crossed paths for a final time which left (B) severely wounded and at the Wolf King's mercy. Ultimately, (A) takes some time to establish some basic healing (and basic restraints) and begins his interrogation. The two have a surprisingly civil, if not oddly meaningful, conversation before (B) manages to slip away and escapes. Three days later, (A) and (B) meet again for what they both think is going to be the first time - on the day of their wedding. (B) dreadfully awaits (A)'s retaliation, but there is no order given for beheading and no cry for shackles to throw her in a cell. Is it possible that that (A) doesn't recognize who she is? Or does he have a different reason for keeping her secret?

- Prayin' for Daylight - OPEN
- Genre: Historical supernatural fantasy, fictional town in the American West, late 1800's, werewolves and cowboys
- Themes: Slow burn, forced proximity, forbidden lovers, beauty and the beast
Characters: *Male (A) (lycan, alpha and outlaw gang leader) x Female (B) (human, potential to be 'turned' definitely on the table)
The once sleepy cattle town of Grayhollow is suddenly embroiled in a land dispute between two rival lycan packs parading around as outlaw gangs when a suspiciously lucrative land deal abruptly makes a small but greedy rancher the wealthiest and most powerful man in the Northwind Basin. The Blackrock gang, led by (A), are losing their foothold in the local territory thanks to the new posse, the Farrow Creek boys, that were trying to carve out a name for themselves from the purses and pockets that once belonged to (A)'s gang. This proved quite easy now that they were on the rancher's payroll alongside the local sheriffs. The rancher's daughter (B) finds herself indebted to (A) after he unwittingly stumbles into her encounter with a pack of Farrow Creek thugs. After he discovers who she is, (A) knows he now has the exact leverage he needs to unseat the rancher and the Farrow Creek alpha. When (B) ends up in Blackrock's hands, she learns that maybe all of the horrifying stories her Pa told her about the outlaws weren't completely true and that there may be more to (A) than she was always warned.
