The Regional Preternatural Investigation Taskforce (RPIT, usually pronounced "Rip-It"), later called the Regional Preternatural Investigation Squad (although the Squad is commonly replaced with Team to keep the acronym), is an extention of the New York Police Department charged with keeping the peace between the human and supernatural communities by investigating all crimes with a supernatural aspect, and apprehending and/or exterminating the guilty parties.
Its duty is to investigate all supernatural crimes, whether it be commited against humans or against the supernatural beings themselves, including Vampires, Lycanthropes, Zombies, Ghouls, and more.
Derogatorily known as the "Spook Squad", it is not considered a positive career move to join it, and it is comprised mostly of police officers who have aggravated their superiors in some way or another.
Humans Against Vampires
While there were many Anti-Vampire Organizations throughout history, HAV has focused in on overturning the ruling that makes Vampires human/people under the law. They were founded almost immediately after Vampires came out, and according to their President, they use legal channels such as petitioning and protesting through the media and the political machine.
In this way, they are said to be similar to hate groups like The League of Human Voters, with their ranks having some overlap. While some members are those who were victims or the relatives of Vampire victims, many oppose the Undead on religious grounds and general bigotry.
They preach that Vampires are just animals and need to be put down for the safety of humanity. Their agenda is to make Vampires Illegal so that they may be hunted without a court order of execution. As the name implies, they also take issue with Lycanthropes/Shapeshifters, Witches, Animators, and other Preternaturals treated as human under the law.
Publicly, the Vampires do not interact with Humans Against Vampires, and publicly HAV does not have kill squads committing violent vigilantly action against the Monsters.
Name: Dolph Henderson
Height: 6'5
Weight: 232 lbs.
Eyes: Hazelnut brown
Hair: Brown
Age: 36
Faction: RIP-IT
Notes/Personality: Dolph is a lead investigator who has a no nonsense attitude. When he speaks, he does so in curt, short, direct remarks and seldom applies plesentries (Such as saying hello or goodbye.) He's clearly had military training and was a good detective before he was transferred to the Spook Squad. No one knows why he was transferred, and most are afraid to ask because of his standoffish personality.
Name: Fluffy
Height: Regular-sized cat
Weight: Horridly light, maybe 1 or 2 lbs.
Eyes: None
Hair: None
Age: Unknown
Faction: N/A
Notes/Personality: Fluffy, also known as Fluff, was an experiment by Solace to create a life-like corpse. Fluffy believes they are a real cat, they try to purr but can't, they try to snuggle but are bones. They pretend to be a normal cat, even scratching things in the house. Solace says the experiment is ongoing to see how long its mental acuity stands.
