The New World
(Medieval Fantasy)
Be warned, I don't usually participate or run group games as I find they are difficult to keep going and keep active, but I've decided to see if there would be interest in this idea anyway.
The Free Kingdoms has seen peace and prosperity now for several decades. The last wars had devastated the lands and the people, but now it seemed as though all that was to be left in the past, and everyone looked to the future, and for many, the future lay across the vast sea.
Explorers have discovered the new world and has left a few small outposts on the coast while the ships returned with the news, and to collect colonists to come and reap the rewards of these newly discovered lands. The Kingdom has gathered a fleet of vessels and put out a call to any who wished to travel to the New World, to lay claim to the resource rich lands.
But the journey across the sea is a long and perilous one, and of the twenty-two ships that leave, only 6 reach the shores of the new world, the others lost in storms or perhaps they simply lost their way in the thick fogs that seemed to last for days on end. As the survivors make landfall and reach one of the small outposts what will they find? What supplies were lost on the journey and what the future might hold for them, in this New World.
Additional Notes: So I'm looking for a few characters to join up and help explore the area of The Outpost. I'm hoping to avoid overly powerful characters, so no archmages, high priestesses and powerful knights of the realm. Instead, I'm looking for tradesmen, apprentices (magic users) sent by their masters, acolytes (clerics) sent by the church to administer the flock, a young druid looking to discover new plants and animals, explorers, a squire looking to make a name for himself, simple guardsmen, carpenters, farmers, woodcutters, etc...
If this would be of interest, let me know here. Once we have a few players willing to discuss we can create an OOC thread to discuss specifics like character races, and what exactly looms in the New World, evil elves, orcs? Perhaps great wars took place here centuries or millennia before and those who had lived and fought have become extinct. What legacy or dark, evil forces did they leave behind? All open for discussion.
