The Knight and the Witch

Medieval/Dark Fantasy (World Building)
I envision this to be a very dark story set in a very dark world, which would include many dark subjects, some directly connected to the story and some indirectly. I could do MxF and play the male knight or the female witch, or it could be fun to run this story as a three-way story. I further envision that these characters would begin In Media Res as they confront each other for the first time, and then on from there. Where the story goes beyond that is to be discussed. I have ideas and I’m open to hearing yours.
The Set Up: The world has been at war for several decades now, and no part of the continent remains untouched and unaffected. What started as a fight of good vs evil is now a struggle for survival with the line between the two having become blurred over time. Those who claimed to be good are as guilty of atrocities as those accused of being evil. Some pockets of civilization remain near the coasts, but these have become filled with refugees fleeing the catastrophic downfall of humanity.
The Holy Order of Knights: these knights (imagine the Templar Order) have been fighting since the beginning of the war, in some shape or form. But as the church that controlled the order grows more and more corrupt and desperate as the war rages, all of these knights have been affected in some way. Some have embraced the corruption and are as guilty of atrocities and genocide as the evil they have sworn to destroy. Other knights struggle with their faith, torn between following orders and following that faith, guided by the order’s old code.
The Coven: long ago, before the war there lived a small, peaceful order of female druids, living along the shores of the Great Lake that rested in the large central forest. At first they were content to remain out of the war, but soon the war came to them. The forces of evil tried to corrupt them to their cause, while spreading propaganda into the human lands, suggesting they were sacrificing human babies and children to keep their grove hidden. It was then the Druidic order was split into two factions. Those determined to maintain the order as is and to remain out of the war have since perished or vanished from the world. Those who chose to fight tapped into the world’s dark energies, turning the Druidic order into a coven of witches with loyalty to none but themselves. While this group has remained in the fight, few of their number remain.
