A Little About Me:
I'm the quiet librarian with a vivid imagination and a secret taste for the darker things in life. I have been RPing for about 18 years and am ready to sink my teeth into something juicy. As you may or may not have read in my introduction post, I have a soft spot for romance and thrillers. So, naturally, this has led me down the rather shameful rabbit hole of dark romance. Now, don't you worry, I've got a therapist to unpack all the implications of my interest in this dark side of romance, and therefore I don't intend to use our RP as a place to unpack that any further.
I know, I know. Another dark romance RP, how utterly redundant, right?
As an avid reader, I have a deep appreciation for plot, and I love stories that explore the more taboo, suppressed, and hidden aspects of human existence and our psyche. As such, I am not interested in simply jumping into a smut-fest. I am, however, interested in writing a thoughtful, detailed story with you in a modern, fantasy, or sci-fi setting. Whether this is a psychological thriller, crime drama, political drama, etc., is up to you (although, between you and me, I have grown weary of the hero's journey style adventure stories). All I ask is that we weave a romantic sub-plot into our story to string our characters together— and if the romance has a little edge of darkness... well, that's just a bonus. So, without further ado, here's a little breakdown of what I'm looking for, a sample of my writing, and story ideas.
What I'm Looking For:

- 3rd Person
- Intermediate or Advanced Grammar/Spelling (no shorthand, messy punctuation, etc., please).
- 2+ paragraph posts (details matter!)
- Detailed characters (emotional depth!)

- A serial killer is on the loose and has zeroed in on his next victim, an oblivious young woman who doesn't realize she's caught the eye of someone evil.
- While working for her ruthless new boss, an overworked assistant happens upon a gruesome scene in the parkade that could more than just get her fired; it could land her in an early grave.
- The daughter of a mob boss is forced to marry the leader of another organization to create an alliance, but her father tries to coerce her into spying on her new husband, and she must choose between her husband and family
- Desperate to escape a stalker that the police refuse to look into, a young woman applies for a live-in nanny/maid job in a secluded estate, but she may be stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
- He's been coming to the restaurant she works at every night for months. He sits alone. He specifically requests her each time. Yet he never says a word to her, always watching another table where the same group of men gathers each night.

As a grey fog rolls in on a crisp autumn breeze, the townspeople of Blackwater Bay begin to rise with a new day. Among them is Amelia 'Mia' Hawthorne. Across from the long stretches of sandy shores and tree-lined walking paths, tucked between the other local shops and cafes, Mia and her best friend, Bell Winslow, open up their shop at the same time as they do every morning. Blackwater Books & Blooms is a book and flower shop. While Mia organizes the orders and sales of the books, Bell oversees the flower arrangements and floral orders. Except this particular morning, while the sun has barely risen above the misty horizon, something is very different. Something throws a wrench in their usual quiet morning routine.
The sign to their front door has already been flipped to open, and a strange red smudge covers one corner of it. The two young women glance at each other before Mia pushes the door open while Bell reaches inside her tote for the small canister of pepper spray her father once gifted her. As they inch into the darkened interior of the shop, it makes it hard to see. Grey daylight reached only so far through the front display windows. Fear left her mouth dry, and she licked her lips nervously as she fumbled for her phone. Swiping it on, she clicked on the flashlight feature and slowly raised the device towards the back of the store while Bell fumbled behind her to flip on the store lights. Suddenly, a swift-moving shadow whizzing past the check-out counter caught Mia's watchful gaze. Instinctively stepping deeper into the store towards the checkout, she ignored Bell, hissing at her to stay put.
As she reached the counter, the lights flicked on, and a large black mass pounced onto the counter, making Mia cry out and stumble backward, trip over her own heels, and tumble onto her behind. There, looming above her, was a long-haired calico cat. With green eyes, mostly black fur with patches of orange and white, it sat primly on top of the counter and tilted its head at her, releasing a soft chirp that sounded like a question. Breathless laughter erupted from both women, and as Bell helped Mia stand, the cat hopped down and did figure-eights between their legs, begging for their attention. Mia, slightly flushed, reached down to pet their first customer of the day, but the cat skittered out of reach, disappearing behind the counter. Following it, she rounded the counter and froze. While the cat sat grooming itself beneath the register, Mia's eyes landed on the garbage can. She felt the blood drain from her face. There, on top of yesterday's trash, was a bloody knife. Her eyes followed the trail of blood drops and smudges to the drawer built into the counter. Pulled it open with shaky fingers; bile rose to sting the back of her throat, and her eyes watered. With a scream lodged in her throat, she stared at the trophy left behind by the monster she thought she'd escaped 4 years ago.
