Background

It began imperceptibly, thin metallic threads across the skies, tightening and loosening, uncoiling and unspooling entire skies' worth of volume and space, shifting and contorting— everything.

The threading took us all by surprise. It happened without warning. It could not fit into any scientific framework. The only thing any of us could grasp in that moment was that the world as we knew it was changing, and the baseline that we had all grown accustomed to no longer existed. It was a complete upheaval of all our lives, of civilization. It is difficult to explain even now, wiring snapping into place across all matters of the world, showing most apparently in the skies but also across walls, clothes and belongings, not even the cold cup of coffee turned bitter and sour in the open air was exempt from this change in complexion. It happened faster than could be quantified, the entire state of everything changing, no single room like itself anymore. The change didn't leave behind empty space either. People were showing up in places speaking tongues none of us could understand, adopting from culture and entire civilized backgrounds that did not show up anywhere in history.

The only definition we've been able to arrive at for threading is this: re-arranging and jumbling of disparate places without any sense of order. It was like all our lives had been tossed in a blender. You could find houses at the bottom of the ocean, with residents carrying about their daily lives as though nothing happened, real human beings with lungs. We couldn't survive at such depths, or so we presumed. All manner of logic and sensibility could not be thrown at this phenomena with any hope of disentangling it.

Perhaps more odd still was the fact that most of us forgot about it. This violent and sudden rearrangement of everything as we knew it came and passed, and the new normal was upon us, reinforcing itself as normal oft do. It happened as if overnight, and was accepted on the same conditions. Suddenly it was normal to sit at a restaurant where the walls swallowed up all the light, to feel for our food and drink in the dark. You could walk down the road and find a street displaced entirely by molten rock, and find people walking across it like nothing had happened.

Whether panicked or excited, my colleagues and I could do nothing but sit back as an entirely new era unlike anything we'd ever seen before suddenly forced itself upon us. Each day spent was another year of the past forgotten, and in our embarrassed state we retreated from the study of the natural world and instead focused on the preservation of history as it was being torn from our grasp, gripping to it like a cliffside, desperate not to fall into the ocean of uncertainty that waited below.

Overview
This is a text based roleplay with a twist on multiversal roleplay, instead of traveling across different worlds, these worlds are colliding together. Your role is that of a resident of these worlds, where the threading has irretrievably changed your life.

Rules
No smut, but romance and allusions to the accursed thing are fine.
No one liners, semi-lit is the bare minimum, lit is preferred.
For powered characters the default cap is set to URM, if you insist on bringing in powered characters DMing me in advance may be wise.
Follow the Rules of the Sanctum.

Narrator's homeworld: Tinia
States: WIP
Cities: WIP

Character restrictions: Your character can come from any place, be part of any race or species, it does not matter.

Magic: Magic in lore can take a variety of forms and is indistinguishable from the arts. I have entire magic systems on file that are available if asked for (if you would rather use my stuff). The world of Tinia classically is aethopunk, but it is forcibly being combined with several other disparate worlds which could take on any other genera. You don't need magic to find a home here.

Plots: You are part of a bus gang that rides around town, providing free public transportation to anyone that wishes for it. Because the conditions of the world are so different from place to place, only the hardest street born people are equipped to provide this service, you need to be ready to assist a multi-surface vehicle as it carries its passengers across water, over mountains, through volcanoes, and most dangerous of all, asphalt roads. Nothing is as it seems, and you must be ready for that. The bus gang in question is composed of characters that are delinquent in some way or another, but do not consider this classically. Delinquency across numerous different cultures has no absolute universal law of any kind. Anyone can be a delinquent provided their context explains it.

Naturally bus gangs were developed to protect themselves from the UMLF (united militarized librarian faction) and their patrolmen who ride around on acid dipped mops, using magic and other means to root out and terrorize deviancy. However, it is also worth noting that other Bus gangs developed to protect themselves from bus gangs. The competition for passenger satisfaction is very serious and can involve light bleeding from the ends of the hair, you have been warned.

More plot ideas may come about in the future but this is all I have for now.

For the initiated: You are encouraged to remix heavily, take an old throwaway character or npc, and turn them into a deuteragonist, repurpose an old character made for an rp that never took off, maybe even take multiple characters and crash them together into some abomination. I want all your repurposing, all your recyclings, everything.

Slots: Limited to three for the time being, as more plots develop more slots will be available.

Any help building the world of Tinia as the background for this rp is welcome. Multiple chefs can and do work well in restaurants large enough to justify them. This is the multiverse. As this goes on I will probably share a bit of my lore just to help newcomers who may not have much to work off of just yet. (Unfortunate as it is but, by default veteran roleplayers and worldbuilders will have the easiest time here). Nonetheless I have a large enough backlog of fictional ethnicities, environments, worlds, and so on that I'll probably be posting in other places once I find the right spot to throw them.
