History, as you all know, is quite often written by the victors…
In this case, the victor was the huntsman, Lionel, who told the villagers his own fabricated story of what happened, to paint himself as the brave hero…
You all have heard that story a million times.
The truth?
Little Red Riding Hood, a nineteen year old young woman named Rosalyn, was indeed journeying through the forest to visit her ailing grandmother… though that wasn’t the only reason she frequented that forest…
You see, Rosalyn was in love… with who, you might ask? The one Rosalyn loved and would meet frequently for romantic trysts was the chief of the Blackpelt werewolves.
Their love of course had to be a secret, the humans of Rosalyn’s village would condemn her for loving a ‘savage beast’ as they liked to call werewolves and the werewolves of Rosalyn’s beloved pack would frown upon his love for a human woman, making him fear they might try to harm her… especially if they found out that Rosalyn bore his mating mark at the base of the left side of her neck…
Rosalyn was always careful to keep that covered while out and about in the village.
In the village, there was a popular and handsome huntsman by the name of Lionel, this huntsman fancied Rosalyn and couldn’t understand why she always refused all of his attempts at courting her.
One day, when Lionel knew that Rosalyn was going to make her routine weekend long visit to her grandmother who lived on the other end of the forest… Lionel decided to follow her… and as he followed behind her, careful to be unseen or heard… he eventually witnessed something that made his heart turn to ice and his blood boil with humiliated rage.
Rosalyn, laying upon a spread out blanket with a werewolf… the two of them making passionate love to each other… he was enraged, he couldn’t believe that Rosalyn would prefer that beast over him!
Lionel waited for the two to separate, Rosalyn continuing on the path towards her grandmother’s home after giving her lover a sweet goodbye and a promise to see him again soon.
Once the werewolf was alone, Lionel attacked him from behind with his axe, fatally wounding him immediately with a sharp strike to the back of the head.
He made quick work on disemboweling the creature that dared to ruin his chance at love and then left him there to die while he made his way to Rosalyn’s grandmother’s home to settle things up with Rosalyn herself.
When Lionel showed up and revealed what he knew and what he had done, Rosalyn was shattered, her heartbroken wails of despair filling the cabin.
Lionel proceeded to threaten the two women, claiming that if they didn’t go along with his side of the story with the villagers, he would paint Rosalyn a werewolf loving whore and name her grandmother as an accomplice enabler.
He demanded Rosalyn also agree to marry him as quickly as a priest could be procured to perform the ceremony.
Rosalyn reluctantly agreed only to prevent her grandmother from being harmed.
Together, Rosalyn and her grandmother managed to escape and fled far away to settle somewhere no one knew them.
Rosalyn also discovered in this time… that she was pregnant with her beloved’s child…
She eventually gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that she named Eliana.
Our story will pick up eighteen years after these events on the eve of Eliana’s eighteenth birthday.
During these eighteen years, tensions have risen among the werewolf tribes and their royal families’... you see, the Blackpelt tribe’s royal family promised another tribe’s royal family an alliance through marriage, but the slaughtered Blackpelt chief did not leave behind any heirs… at least that they knew of… and this other tribe was angry, they felt cheated…
The other tribe’s royal family (YC’s family) however received curious news from their mystic… the mystic reported that there was in fact an heir to the Blackpelt royal line and they had pin pointed where to find her…
The middle child of this tribe (YC), being the only male, goes forth to seek this female out among the humans…
He finds her… watches her, observes her, learns about her… and finds himself enamored by her, he makes the decision that he will bring this female back with him and make her his mate, fulfilling the promise made between their families… even if he has to take her back with him by force…
