Hey y'all! I have a request with a bit more !lore! and fleshed-out world that I've never been able to get off the ground because BDR kinda killed itself </3 lmao

Quick tidbits:
1. OG Thread to know a bit more about me (including the nastayyyy stuff)
2. Multi-para to Novella. 500 minimum, sometimes crawling up to 2k for exposition/long action posts/relevant dreams and thoughts.
3. Third Person, literate
4. Dark, tougher topics. Probably will be mentions of gore because, yknow, dark fantasy vibes
5. My response time is usually everyday-once a week. Honestly, right now I'd rather pick up a faster-paced back and forth if someone is down [ie, like every otherday or more]. I TEND to be busier on the weekends, but with winter coming around I'll probably be more active.
6. If we have to do character sheets, I prefer them bare-bones. And please no AI images, thank you!
7. Honestly love some good OOC chatter. Whether its talkin about the characters or telling a funny life story, im all for it!

The Plot:
At the outskirts of a vast empire, Cistonia, sits a little town named Canibri [aptly nicknamed 'The Edge of the World']. To call Canibri even a village is an overstatement. To most, they are unknown, faceless peasants that are to live and die by their fields. Except there is a little something off about Canibri that no one can quite place their finger on. The small town is surrounded by the Wood, a vast forest that the villagers have long knew not to wander in. To those that felt brave enough to go in, they either never return or they return so deranged that they are never quite the same.

With punctuality, and like clockwork, the red-haired witch comes over the hill every five years-- at the same day, at the same time, and on the same month. Her name or purpose is not known. With a careless point of her finger, she chooses someone who is unaware of their magical abilities and steals them away from their village and their previous life. The Witch drags them to the Wood, a place of utter fear; It is unknown what the witch does with the people she takes, but it is a matter that the villagers cannot fight against. What is a mortal against a powerful, immortal witch? Regardless, in a part of the world where magic is foreign to lowly villagers, she appears more like an elusive Baba Yaga than any benevolent creature, and no one she has taken has returned.

The Witch takes YC to the woods, and informs them that magic has chosen to attach to their soul. Then, with a grim expression, she plainly informs them: You are going to die, and there's nothing you or I can do about it. [why? to be revealed! dun dun dun!]

Vibes for this RP:
Politics, eldrich horrors beyond comprehension, dark fantasy, a lot of grim dark with some lighter moments, most likely some gore. Think a bit of a world like Elden Ring or the Dark Souls series.
Think Roman Empire, hellbent on expansion despite it collapsing in on itself, and a greedy emperor.
Little bit of a grumpy immortal x naive person who makes them a bit softer.
There's more to be said of this since I've really done some thinking on it, but I'd like to explore it via RP to really encapsulate your character's naivety to how FUBAR the world is.
