World The world and lore of the Shootin' Stars

PLANETS:​

Devin-5: Devin-5 is a small planet, less then half the size of its nearby neighbors. It was at one point a lush forest world but it didn't take long for settlers to hunker down and populate every mile of its humble surface space. Resources were stretched thin and things got worse when the Federation forcibly removed the poorest individuals from their capital planet and relocated them to Devin-5. The people are scared, angry, and hungry. Wars are waged for water, but the cities and slums continue to spread like a disease. The Federation patrol teams are hesitant to spend too much time on the streets of Devin-5 wich makes it an excellent world to dissapear from the law on.

Factions:​

The Federation: When humanity first ventured to planets and world's well beyond its own, it discovered more intelligent life then its people could ever have predicted. Unfortunatly humanity did not play well with their new intergalactic neighbors and it wasn't long before they dedicated what resources and money they had left to waging war among the stars. Fast foreward to the present day and the Federation is no longer an all human establishment. They have subjected so many races and taken over so many worlds that the face of the Federation is that of every major goverment. The riches individuals in existence joined the Federation and gave it new leadership. Their goal is simple. They wish to make every world theirs and turn them into cash cows for the one percent. They are strict and military like in their operations and are currently the most powerful war-fighting force that is known of.

The Maurauder Corp: The Maurauder Corp has positioned itself as the Federations greatest opposition and often portray themselves as freedom fighters, but anybody who has crossed their paths know that they are just as bad as the Federation. The set up bases and camps on any planet they want and take from the natives without any concern for their wellbeing. They are known for their hardcore insurgancy fighting, often utilizing hostages to get what they want. The Maurauder Corp has often slaughtered and burned those they claim to champion. They are currently engaged in the great war with the Federation. The Shootin' Stars have had several violent run ins with these red armored maniacs.

The Chosen of Karn: The Chosen of Karn are a well organized religious society that exist on the outskirts of various systems around the universe. They act as a shelter for refugees and openly oppose the Federation and their tyranny. They spend hours a day in a trance like state "speaking to the stars" and very rarely leave their monastery ships. They are almost always space faring as it's a sin in their religion to dwell too long on the surface of a planet. (Soon to finish.)
