Intro
Hey! You can call me Udon. I'm a twenty year old stage actor who writes in their spare time. I've been writing in some capacity for pretty much all my life, and online through various means for at least a decade. There was a point where I was roleplaying with the Playstation 3 browser function, to put my long standing passion for this hobby into perspective. To get a sense for my style, A collection of writing samples can be found here!

I had previously used the site for a period last year. However, tech troubles, health issues and real life obligations bogged me down, and combined with the stress of a new term in college, I was forced to abruptly step away from things for a while. Now, though, I'm back in a more comfortable position and have secure access to the time and resources I need to properly write. Thus, a new interest check!

General Info
As before, I'm looking for MxM pairings of a mature, adult nature. Unless it's excluded in my "what I won't do" section (or by the site rules, of course), I'm likely to be up for the inclusion of a theme or topic. I generally prefer a healthy balance of drama or "angst" and lightness or "fluff" than to veer too far in either direction, though I do have a preference for the former. My characters are often complicated, morally dubious sorts of people, not (always) irredeemable monsters and criminals but certainly not paragons of heroism or goodness. I write in a literate and detailed, subjective style, from the perspective of my character with a focus on their emotions. I tend to have a strong sense of aesthetics in my writing, with cohesive and poetic visuals to match the plot's "vibe".

Smut is totally fine with me, but plot will come first. I tend not to do strict smut/plot ratios - I prefer to let things flow naturally in that regard - but I value building a captivating plot foremost. Should it arise, I generally don't go for strict dom/sub or top/bottom roles with my characters either: I find real people are usually much more flexible than that.

I love to write, but what draws me to roleplay especially is the element of collaboration. Thus, I will greatly appreciate a roleplay partner willing to do so! We have collective ownership of the plot, so absolutely feel free to include other characters, new plot elements, and any other ideas you think could spice up the story. I will always appreciate a RP partner who brainstorms and collaborates over one that either solely takes the reins or sits back and lets the other writer have complete control. I want our characters to feel like real, living people in a rich and captivating world.
Given this, I request that anyone interested please express that - DM me with your ideas, what interests you, and what you'd like to do! I'm much more likely to respond to someone who lets their passion shine as opposed to a standard "hey" or a plain request just to plot. Come with your ideas!

In a similar vein, I think a RP thrives on an active OOC. I love chatting about our characters and the plot, as well as sharing things like character playlists, pinterest boards, headcanons etc..
I don't mandate the use of references - we are writers, after all, and we can create appearances that suit us best from words. That being said, if we do decide to use references, I prefer realistic/IRL faceclaims. Please, no anime/cartoon references, and definitely no AI! On the nature of character types and appearances, I absolutely welcome "alternate" characters: People from different subcultures, of less represented ethnicities and identities, of less than conventionally perfect body types and appearances. It should go without saying, but I'm 100% LGBTQ friendly and I will always encourage variety and breaking the usual mould of handsome, perfectly gender conforming, muscly white guys.

Now for what I won't do. This is a hard set list that isn't up for negotiation - anything that isn't listed I am very much flexible on. If something isn't on here, but you think it may cause an upset, feel free to ask. Generally, though, these are the only hard nos:
-First person roleplay
-Pre-made characters or plots
-"Porn without plot"/Smut-centric RP
-Heavy gore and extreme violence
-Bathroom play
-Fetishisation of identities (trans fetishism/detrans, raceplay, etc)
-MxF or FxF (these relationships can of course feature with NPCs, I just only want the focus between the main characters to be MxM.)
-Torture/misery porn

And now onto what I will definitely do - Plot ideas!

(Some!) Pairings:
Best friends/ex-friends
Enemies to lovers
Roommates
Exchange college student x host
Runaways
Next door neighbours
Bully x bullied
Coworkers
Killer x final boy
High status x low status
Sports teammates/rivals
Brother/sister's (ex?)-boyfriend
Former exes
Artist x muse
Celebrity x fan

Themes:
Manipulation, repairing and healing, long-term bonds, letting go of the past, fighting fate, challenging conventions, the line between love and hate, "I could fix him", "I could make him worse", choosing your family, corruption, prideful downfalls, coincidences and circumstance, two against the world

Convalescence
Two young men connect thanks to their shared experience - recovering from a long term illness, or learning to manage a chronic illness. Their unique position in society draws them together in a fast-paced world.
This one is a basic plot idea that can be taken in countless different ways. The characters could meet through an in-person support group - or maybe online, and transition into in-person as they regain their strength? The characters could be eager to recover and get back into the hustle and bustle of work and college. Maybe their recovery could force them apart, as their responsibilities begin to return? Will they fight the rising tide, or be swept apart? Or maybe their relationship isn't perfect and supportive, and the rougher edges of their personalities come to blows?

Sojourn
A prodigial but financially disadvantaged student is offered the chance to study at an illustrious university abroad. He finds himself in the care of a host family, in a bustling town far from home. Struggling to make friends in a foreign land and culture, the student finds himself drawn into a close bond with the host family's son. Dramatic hijinks ensue as the two of them navigate clashing cultures, student life, and their own contrasting personalities and ideas.
Another very flexible plot: Just about everything is decided by the characters. Where is the student from, and where is he going to stay? What's the town like - rural, urban, coastal, forested? How did he end up with the host family: Did they take him in as a stranger, or is there a past connection between them and his own family? And, of course, the varying personalities and backgrounds of the two characters will sway things heavily. The setting being fixed to one location also lets us develop and flesh out the town greatly. This is a plot that will take some forethought, but that I think has the potential for a really engaging and charming story!

This Town's Bones
Two characters brought together by circumstance (see pairings for ideas) have spent all their life in a small town. Their shared love for horror and the supernatural spurs them to become amateur ghost hunters, picking apart the many supposedly haunted locales around them. Their investigation into supernatural phenomena - real or fake - brings them closer together and forges an unshakeable bond.
Or maybe very, very shakeable. You know how emo boys are.
This one can be supernatural, but it doesn't have to be! I'm open to it being a more slice of life-esque thing where the duo are less like ghost hunters and more like ghost debunkers. We could also press the horror angle further - maybe there's a reason this town is so haunted? And what do the locals know? How do they feel about these two irresponsible youngsters going and digging up the skeletons in their closets, and what will they do to silence them?

Sticky Floors
The early 2000s saw an explosive renaissance for the music industry. Gone were the days of the ivory tower record companies - indie music was more popular than ever, and indie artists saw real success playing into the new millennium. This plot will explore that setting: Whether as bandmates, musical rivals, dedicated fans, or a classic whirlwind romance with a groupie.
Based heavily on the documentary Meet Me in the Bathroom, and very grounded in the aesthetic of early 2000s indie music. Think the Strokes, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys etc.

The Red Means I Love You
This one is by nature a lot darker than the others, but still has room for Wes Craven-esque horror comedy. Basically, it centres around two characters caught up in a spree of serial murders. One of these characters is determined to unmask the killer and stop the murders—the other is the murderer. The plot follows the two characters as their relationship grows and blossoms—and twists into something far darker and more toxic when the truth comes out.
There's a lot of ways this can go: The initial setting I had in mind was a college campus, but it could feasibly be set almost anywhere a community can gather. It could start from the beginning and mix romance with thriller and intrigue as the murders unfold, or begin in medias res towards the end of the spree and the reveal of the killer's identity. How will the characters react to each other's unfurling motives? What motivates the killer to act out and begin his serial murders? Is his obsession enough to win over his mentally strained final boy, or has he created his own nemesis? Or, both?

The Inhuman Race
Two young men find themselves afflicted with the curse of Lycanthropy. This can be from any sort of method: Maybe it's a disease, or a curse. Maybe they've both been bitten the old fashioned way—or maybe one bit the other, either by accident or intentionally. Maybe it's transmitted through other ways, like a more conventional illness. Whatever the case, they must navigate the world of the supernatural together, encountering all manner of opposition like rival wolves, suspicious townsfolk, hunters, and their own animal instincts.
Again, another very flexible one. We could play fast and loose with the concept of werewolves, so as to dodge the finer details of worldbuilding—or go all the way and create our own interpretation of classic supernatural tropes. The curse can be as restrictive or as free as we choose, with any sort of conditions or liberties taken with it. It can be a low-stakes personal meditation, or an action adventure with all manner of enemies for the two to fight off together. It can also change drastically depending on the setting: Are they lurking in the woods of a rural town, or stalking the streets of a city with a thronging nightlife? This can also be mixed with any of the plots presented so far—a werewolf slasher flick, werewolf runaways, or werewolf bandmates are all interesting remixes of the ideas I'd love to explore!

And They Were Roommates
Two young men sent to a conservative college far from home find themselves boarding together. Maybe they're old friends, sports teammates, rivals, or complete strangers. Whatever the case, their blooming relationship will be harshly scrutinised if the truth of it ever emerges. Will they keep things quiet to please their families? Or fight against it to live authentically?
Once again, this can go many different ways. What brought either character to the college can vary wildly - family tradition, punishment from their parents, a lucky scholarship? Are they aware of their sexuality from the beginning, or is college the start of an awakening and discovery for them? A very character-driven plot that's swayed heavily by personality and backstories, and also an environment rife for the inclusion of extra "NPC" characters.

Your Plot Idea Here!
Anything you might think we could share a mutual interest in, I'd love to hear! I'm always open to suggestions and ideas.

BONUS: I love exploring unconventional settings - I'll rarely go for the usual standard of "modern day America". As such, I greatly welcome any potential plots set in the past or in countries outside of the American norm. We can play it period and politically accurate in terms of attitudes to gay people, or alter it if that's something that we'd prefer to avoid.

If you're interested, feel free to shoot me a DM! I won't be responding to reactions, only DMs. Partially so I know you've actually read this, and partially because I can't exactly gauge interest from a like or love.

As of now, I'm currently open and accepting new RPs. Feel free to reach out again if you have before, too! I unfortunately didn't get to finalise many plans the last time I was active, and I'd love to hear from you again if we were plotting.
