Hello! Thank you for being interested, but this area is currently under construction! I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with it yet, so you can just move along for now.

I couldn't find the artist the credit for this first one, but I borrowed it from the PokemonMMO website.

The artist for this one is in the upper left of the image!

There are a lot of different Poke-balls specialized into different things. Though some just look different for aesthetic purposes. If any different ones are used specifically, they'll be added here as they come up.

Poke-ball: Your standard red one. It has a chance to catch any Pokemon but works better on lower leveled and more common ones.

Great Ball: A pretty blue one. It has a higher chance to be successful against rarer Pokemon.

Ultra Ball: Black with a gold U. It has a greatly higher chance to catch rarer Pokemon.

Master Ball: Purple and magenta with a white M. It's guaranteed to catch any Pokemon. However! Very few are ever produced!

I got these from the Bulbapedia website.

-Every Pokemon has one or two typings, but their abilities aren't restricted by them. They borrow from each other all of the time; just like I'm not specifically just a baker and you're not specifically just a dancer. However, we still use typings to help sort them based on their main strengths and powers.
-Some are more affective against others, and some resist others, sometimes entirely. The chart is provided above, but numbers can be intimidating in that format. Let's break it down. The three starter types are always the best example; Fire, Water and Grass. They work in a circle. Fire is 2x affective on Grass, which is 2x affective on Water, which is 2x affective on Fire. Then you can take the circle back in reverse. Fire is 1/2x affective on Water, which is 1/2x affective on Grass, which is 1/2x affective on Fire. Full loop! There are a few typing circles like this, but not all types fit so smoothly. As stated before as well, there are some which aren't affected by others at all. Flying vs Ground is a great example. Flying types can't take damage from Ground types.
-There are some natural abilities, moves and items which can affect these numbers. Those are different from Pokemon to Pokemon and battle to battle.
-Now that we have that down, let's go over the types.

Normal: This type is for all those Pokemon which just seem like normal animals. They look the part, and the moves they use play the part. It's also used as a "Sound" type, for any moves to due with noise. Attacks which are Normal type hit most other types evenly.

Fighting: If it kicks and hits more than anything else, it falls under fighting type. This Pokemon trained and honed their "Normal" skills into something more than that. They hit some types for 2x damage, but the trade off is that the damage is halved for several other types.

Flying: If it has wings or any control over the air, then it's a Flying type! Though, it's mostly a lot of birds. They're pretty well balanced between the damage they make vs the damage they take.

Poison: These Pokemon are often times icky. Slimy or toxic, or sometimes a pollutant. Some look gross, others dangerous with beauty, and most are a little awnry on the personality side too. They specialize against only a few types, but there deal better with damage over time rather than direct attacks anyways.

Ground: Sturdy, hearty and built to take hits. Well, most of them; there are exceptions to every rule. If it's mud, sand, stone or other, Ground type is a safe bet. There are a few though which specialize underground, rather than being the ground themselves. These guys are heavy hitters; I mean, when was the last time you got hit with a wall?

Rock: What's the difference? These guys are more loose. Often being smaller pieces, sometimes made up of crystals. Or maybe they were revived from fossils. Still, they aren't push overs, and can deal more precise blows.

Bug: Creepy crawlies or cutie patooties? It is was it says on the label. These one are better at slight irritations as well as typing enemies up. Honestly, these guys are a little squishy.

Ghost: For all the creepy things that go bump in the night. Many spirits haunt the entire world of Pokemon, but they have their favorite spots. Sometimes playful, and often malicious, that fits these ghouls to a T. They're strong against some, but mainly they enjoy pestering and twisting things around.

Steel: Robots, parts and the strength of metal. These guys don't make things easy. They were made for battle, forged by their environment. Their defenses are honestly unmatched.

Fire: Quick as a match and hot to the spot. Anything with fire or to an absurd heat, this is where they fall. They sort of play a middle ground, not too weak and not too strong. Most also have a chance of leaving lingering damage.

Water: Time to make a splash- No wait, that move doesn't do anything.. Is it a fish? Then it's probably a water type. Can it shoot water? Water type. Honestly, what else can I say? These guys skirt the middle ground as well. At least they're great as transportation.

Grass: Roots planted and absorbing the sun. Most of these Pokemon are living plants, though some are just animals catering a biome. Cutting towards some types with padding to take damage. These guys do better when they have time to charge up.

Electric: Zap, like a lightning bolt, or the crackling in your walls. The highly energized are classified here. Many a rodent or dog ready for speed. These jolts are easily the fastest, easy to negate but hard to avoid.

Psychic: Take a deep breath and calm your mind; focus. Bending a spoon? Making things levitate? Tuning in with you telepathically? All of these fall under Psychic type. Most can produce attacks straight from their minds. Good at resisting more special abilities, but weak to more things physical.

Ice: Did someone ask for Winter? I think a blizzard is rolling in. Any Pokemon cold to the touch falls under here. They aren't the most sturdy, and they don't pack the heaviest punch. But, it's nice when you can stop someone dead in their tracks.

Dragon: Big ones, small ones. Tails, wings, horns and claws. From the fiercest roar to the tiniest coo. Dragons are a force to be reckoned with. They are very often some of the strongest, but don't worry, they have weaknesses too.

Dark: Most things nocturnal fall under here, along with any that have mean intent. The dirtier trick fall under this type, things which have a harsher tone or meaning. Their attacks are pretty normal, those sometimes they bite. And, these Pokemon are built to take a beating.

Fairy: Cute, sparkly, pink and all things cuddly. Though, to be honest, a few are quite ugly. Often these are the tiniest of Pokemon. They're tougher than they look, and are often the best counters for the more intimidating types.
