Even if all you have seen is the films, that is completely fine. I want you to feel free to breathe life into Eomer as you might see him. If YOU have a specific idea/plot, PLEASE tell me, it could very well be better than mine! THIS IS NOT A SET IN STONE PLOT.
I am also open to writing spicey love scenes between our characters. I am as heavily detailed in my smut writing as I am in my normal writing. Eomer is described as a passionate man, feel free to explore ALL of what that entails!

Greetings to the curious writer who has ventured in! It would mean so much to me if you would take the time to read the following if you have gotten this far. For a while now, I have been craving a Lord of the Rings based roleplay. Specifically between the character of Prince Eomer and a possible OC of mine that can be made into the actual canon wife of Eomer as part of the plot.
I understand that playing a canon character is not the cup of tea for most folks, especially for a character from the long-winded Lord of the Rings franchise. However, I do believe that Eomer is a fresh canvas as not much screen time is given to him, making him an ideal candidate for a writer who loves fantasy settings to be able to explore and breathe their own life into the Prince of Rohan. The culture is largely based on the Norsemen or Vikings of old.
What we see of Eomer on screen and in the books is that he is a rather serious man, a warrior of Rohan, a skilled Rider and a leader of men, but we aren't given opportunity to see much else of him, not even how a man like that lives, celebrates and even loves, which is a shame because he is described as a passionate man. That is the freedom I hope my writing partner will explore with me. I will include a bit of the history of Eomer's life below, just to help out someone who hasn't the time or inclination for research. Cliff Notes if you will to reference back, and it's totally fine if you do not memorize all of this, I had to look up most of it to remember!
First born and only son of Prince Eomund and Princess Theodwyn (sister to King Theoden). Older brother to Princess Eowyn (the White Lady of Rohan). Noble house is known as the House of Eorl.
He is of the kingdom of Rohan, which is a neighboring kingdom to Gondor, Lothlorien, Isengard and Mordor - meaning their land is in the thick of all activity
The people of Rohan (the Rohirram) are known mainly for their horses. They are very proud of their steeds, their breeding the best and finest mounts. Their symbol is a white horse upon a green flag. Their armor, their helms, their swords and shields, everything is marked with a horse motif. Even Eomer's helm bears the blond tail of a royal horse.
Orphaned at the age of 11 (Eowyn being 6). His father killed by Orcs, his mother died of grief.
Adopted soon after by his uncle King Theoden who raised them alongside his own son Theodred like they were his own children in Meduseld (the royal hall of kings of rohan as seen in the film).
Eomer has a very positive relationship with his uncle and older cousin (even if Theodred is not serious enough to Eomer at times)
Eomer rose in ranks to become the Third Marshal of the Riddermark - meaning he is essentially a military leader of a faction of the Riders of Rohan. His duties include overseeing the safety of the East-Mark of Rohan, but also overseeing the breeding of their horses.
After being named Third Marshal, Eomer returned to reside in his ancestral home in Aldburg, a heavily fortified and old town in Rohan on a green hill near the base of the White Mountains.
Eomer's sword he has named Guthwine - "Battle-Friend"
Eomer's faithful steed is a dappled grey swift horse modeled after an Irish sport horse known as Firefoot.
Eomer has been knowingly betrothed since childhood to a princess named Lothiriel of Dol Amroth, a Kingdom on the coast of Gondor, though he has not seen her since childhood (Note this can be my OC, depending on the route of drama you want to take.)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: When the films begin, aka when Frodo leaves the Shire, Eomer is nearing 30 years of age. He has iconic golden hair, bright blue eyes and a staggering height of 6'6". The man is built like stone wall, broad shoulders and barrel chest with tree trunk legs and arms. He has a deep voice and a wracking battle cry. Book description - He was tall, strong, and possessed of great passion and also was considered a valiant and splendid warrior and a discerning and decent man.

Most of the events of Eomer's life are covered in the films - him being arrested and banished by Grima Wormtongue, the Battle of Helms Deep, the death of King Theoden, etc. the only thing the films did not seem to touch on was that he became very good friends with Aragorn aka King Ellesar, and that he traveled with him all over Middle Earth ridding the world of the evils Sauron had left behind after his defeat. Eomer did become King of Rohan after losing both his cousin and his uncle at the end of the story, and it was said that his reign was a golden era for Rohan, one of peace and prosperity and he reigned for 65 years, the 2nd longest reign of Rohan's Kings. Eomer passed away peacefully with good friends Merry and Pippin at his side at nearly 100 years old.

Now for the introduction of my character/possible headcanon for Lothiriel.
Seemingly a low-born noble woman, Caera is a blind falconer. Her father is old friend of King Theoden and Prince Eomund (Eomer's father), and was appointed in a low Lord, but highly entrusted position, as Overseer of the Gap of Rohan - a narrow pass only a few miles wide cutting through the mountains beside a main river route as passageway between Gondor, Rohan, even Mordor and Isengard and the Dunlands.
Physical Description: Fox-fur red hair of weaves of fire from her head, eye color (unknown to most) gold, she is 5'6", fair and charming with a fit feminine form, and dappled in freckles.
Caera, though perceived blind, navigates the world through the aid of her loyal raptors of the skies aka falcons. One particular falcon in her service is always with her. Though she has many secrets, she is eager for someone to see beyond her blindness and to take the risk for adventures. Caera is often very impulsive, whimsical, and a jovial young maiden, determined to live life to her fullest as she possibly can.
Caera was not born blind, but she was blinded when a child. By happenstance, an elven man blinded from the old wars was crossing through the Gap of Rohan on his way to the Grey Havens when she was still young, and opted to spend a decade or so training the fearful child how to navigate the world as a blind person (which he perfected over hundreds of years)
Thanks to certain bloodline gifts I do not want to reveal yet, with years of training and her falcons, she has keen abilities for defending herself. She is quite handy with a quarterstaff and to everyone's astonishment, has an ability for archery - this is only achievable with the help of her falcons, not some mary sue 'oh she can hear the brush of a coat on the wall and can aim exactly for there, no, her trained falcons indicate to her where and when to fire. Although her sense of touch and smell and hearing are heightened to the point she can identify the world, even if she cannot see it. She sees with her hands, so she often asks people if she may touch their hands or face to know them.

I have many ideas for a spicy romantic adventure where the two begin as strangers set out for the common good of Rohan, and along the way, they learn of and from one another, and the heart and desires want what they want.
I had the thought that we might begin this adventure a couple of years before the events of the films' protagonists are set into motion. Possibly Eomer visiting the Gap of Rohan either on business of reports of the West-Mark being attacked more often than normal, or him simply seeking out a hunting falcon for a much-needed relaxing hunting trip. Or Caera possibly being sent by her father to deliver reports to the capital for the first time and meeting Eomer that way and allowing some time between them to establish a friendship before diving into the action.
Such ideas include a small hunting trip for her to show him how the falcons work, a festive dinner with dancing, a rejected suitor attacking Caera in her chambers but stopped by Eomer which he then has to pass sentence on later as the highest ranking official in the area, exploring Fangorn (as its relatively close to the Gap of Rohan), etc.
The action will begin with creatures of dark magic coming after Caera (specific backstory reasons), which will lead the pair on a journey to Angmar to destroy a coven of witches hell bent on ending the young woman's life to honor the Witch King of Angmar. Again, backstory reasons which will be revealed through the journey! (Unless you wish to know everything forefront, if so, please ask!)
Such journey ideas include Caera and Eomer being chased into the Dead Marshes by wargs and Orcs with Eomer saving her from the dead calling to her, Caera following Eomer and his small company to help take down a troll before he's eaten, a small adventure in Fangorn with an Ent, the Witches of Angmar also trying to sacrifice Eomer as a vessel for the Witch King (the leader of the Ring Wraiths).
This is all POSSIBLY pre-events of the films, I have further ideas to coincide with them and add Caera into Eomer's life with them and play that out such as the battle of Helm's Deep and onward. Nothing is set in stone, so I am all ears to other ideas and plots, please!
