Seeking a Writing Partner for a Dark & Gritty Religious Urban Fantasy
Do you love modern settings laced with the supernatural? Do you enjoy stories where biblical lore isn't just myth, but an undeniable force shaping the world—where angels walk among us, demons whisper in the dark, and exorcists fight unseen battles? Then let's craft something together.

I'm searching for a writing partner interested in exploring a Religious Urban Fantasy setting, where the modern world collides with divine and infernal powers. Whether we follow the path of an exorcist struggling with their faith, a detective investigating unexplainable crimes, a journalist uncovering forbidden truths, or a lawyer making deals with the damned, demonologist with shady past, excommunicated priest that want's back into the light of God, or just someone caught in the middle—there are endless possibilities!

I don't have a fixed plot in mind, but here are a few potential hooks we could tweak and explore:

💀 The Blood of Saints – A street-level occult detective and a Vatican-trained hunter uncover a secret society trafficking vials of saint's blood—each drop granting temporary divine power, but at a terrible cost.

💀 The Possessed Prophet – A journalist investigating supernatural crime is saved by an exorcist after an encounter with a possessed man. The demon leaves behind a cryptic prophecy about the end times—one that seems to involve them both.

💀 The Hollow Saint – A vigilante claiming to perform miracles is gaining a cult following. An exorcist and a reporter investigating them begin to suspect that their miracles might not be divine at all—but something far worse.

💀 The Forgotten Apostle – A woman wakes up with stigmata and no memory of her past. Hunted by both holy and unholy forces, a skeptical detective and a rogue priest must uncover who—or what—she really is.

💀 Ezekiel 33:6 – A priest has been plagued by visions of death and destruction, but when he ignores them, the events unfold exactly as he foresaw. Now marked as a failed Watchman, he is being hunted. A skeptical journalist and a hardened exorcist must protect him while uncovering the meaning of his visions. But if he refuses to share what he sees, their souls may be the next lost.

Of course, these are just starting points! We can mix and match ideas or build something entirely unique together. I am very open to mix in other elements than biblical; like folklore and sub-cultures.

Character Dynamics I Love to Explore
Regardless of the story, I love dynamics that create tension, depth, and emotional investment. I do demand some kind of tension/romance in the plot, and will pass on wholly platonic stories. Some favorites:

⚔️ Protector/Protected – One character is vulnerable in some way (possessed, cursed, hunted) while the other is tasked with keeping them alive—even if they don't trust each other.

⚔️ Enemies to Reluctant Allies – A skeptical cop and a devout exorcist forced to work together, a demon and a priest with a shared enemy—opposites clashing before forming an uneasy bond.

⚔️ Slow Burn Tension – Romance or attraction simmering beneath the surface, complicated by faith, duty, or the weight of the supernatural.

⚔️ Forced Proximity & High Stakes – Characters stuck together due to a curse, a divine mission, or a shared secret that makes them targets.

Pairings can be any (MxF, MxM, FxF, etc.), and all characters must be 25+. For this plot, I want to play one character, but I will write NPCs when needed.

About Me & Writing Preferences

🔹 Who I Am

30+ F | CET timezone – You should be 25+ for compatibility.
OOC chat friendly – I enjoy discussing the story, bouncing ideas, and sending memes or inspiration.

🔹 Writing Style & Expectations
Post length
: ~300-700 words per reply (give or take, depending on the scene). I appreciate a partner in the same range—substance over fluff.
Posting frequency: A couple of replies per week. Some weeks might be slower, others faster. I need a partner who can stay engaged even if life gets in the way.
Storytelling over excessive prose – I write enough to create imagery and emotion, but I'm not a fan of overly detailed descriptions or deep internal monologues in every post. I like to keep the plot moving.
A balance between plotting and improvisation – I like to establish a foundation but enjoy discovering twists and turns organically through our characters. Background reveal IC is chefs kiss from me

🔹 Content Preferences
Dark themes & supernatural horror welcome! Let's explore the eerie and the unexplainable.
No excessive gore or smut – While I don't shy away from these elements if they serve the story, I prefer them as undertones rather than focal points.
Moral ambiguity, dilemmas, and personal stakes – Give me characters who wrestle with their beliefs, face impossible choices, and deal with the consequences.

What I'm Looking For in a Partner
As I myself haven't dabbled in urban fantasy for many years, I'd love for you to have some experience with modern/urban fantasy settings, or at least an interest in the genre. Someone who understands what makes religious horror and supernatural themes compelling—whether it's forbidden knowledge, lost faith, or the thin line between salvation and damnation.

If this sounds like something that sparks your imagination, shoot me a message! When reaching out, please include:
👁️ Some thoughts on potential plot hooks, character ideas, or themes that intrigue you.
👁️ What kind of dynamics/tropes you enjoy in a story like this.

Let's weave something dark, thrilling, and unforgettable. Heaven and Hell are waiting.
