World Vile's Demons

They cause suffering in others because trauma is their sustenance, which also gives them immense pleasure. Entrapping souls is just a step in the process, giving them a temporary food source until the soul is corrupted into a demon itself. They're incorporeal and invisible, only capable of interacting with the world physically if they're possessing someone or something. But they're governed by laws instilled upon them by angels to do the angels' dirty work of punishing those deemed evil.

Their forms are twisted, skinless, eyeless (for eyes are windows to the soul and demons have no souls) and may come in many shapes that mock those of mortal creatures.

Imps are not a species, but the new "born" demons.
