Welcome to the VORTEK OOC. I figured since it's turned into a reasonable sized group an OOC would make sense. Here anything that need clarified , ideas that ppl have or questions can be put here.

Also wanted to say I am extremely grateful, if slightly overwhelmed with the interest . So if you can bare with me while I get my stride that would be appreciated.
There will be more world information added to the world build thread as and when I feel it's significant.
Your characters position in society may mean some of you are party to information others are not . For this I will DM you as necessary.

-Multiple martial arts (specifically Kendo and Muy Thai)—albeit only against holographic attackers in show-combat so far,
-Strong social, cultural, and political skills,

Strengths: A shrewd and analytical politician, a cultured and charismatic entertainer, a skilled diplomat, possessor of strong social graces, highly empathetic and emotionally intelligent, a creative and well-educated mind, strong abilities in engineering and business. Appearance: Sex is male. Height of 100 cm. Mass of 35 kg. Hirsute of black hair. Facial skin complexion is of a cacao color while the skin under the body hair is more of a honey-brown. Eyes are dark brown in color.
Skills: Area Knowledge of Vortek Station, Climbing, Crewman, Spacer, Electronics Repair, Vac Suit, Gestures ( includes charades and sign language ), First Aid, Housekeeping, Kung Fu ( Leopard style ), Melee Weapons ( Short Sword ), Partying, Streetwise.
Strengths: Small size enables access to small enclosures/spaces. Strength equal to 120% of an average human plus an additional 40% arm strength. Agility-Dexterity scores 40% greater than the average human. Reaction speed at 116% of normal human. Running speed of 25.2 kph. Tough skin. Brachiator with significant climbing ability. Space environment certification and familiarity with zero-G environments. Electronics repair technician. Martial Arts training.
Weaknesses: Small size can possibly hinder reach in environments with gravity. Semi-erect posture.

Name: Moz
Race: 017B18-16E - No Data. Looks humanoid, passable for a human.

Appearance:
Moz looks human if it werent for the extra fingers and the difference in eyes. Standing at 6.2, muscular with various scars that dot along his face, arms and skin. Its also clear - he views everyone, everything with a great sense of distrust. Wearing a combat jacket, with fitted plates, a sidearm which is able to change from burst to single powered shots and with the replacement of the chamber able to fire high calibre slug rounds. His hair is a dirty burnt blond, kept short, his eyes hidden behind shades and his hands often kept in gloves. He tends to look more like any usual mercenary or hired gun. No ID, no fucks to give and partially augmented because he didnt have a choice. For most he looks in his late twenties to early thirties however his kind live considerably longer lives than that of humans - anywhere from three to five hundred.

Personality:
Its clear he has serious ingrained trust issues towards anyone - with the exception of the symbiotic relationship with Lee. Shared suffering in such a space has made them almost inseperable and he has found that sometimes sharing conciousness with another might be better in his own mental state and theirs. Its not that he doesnt want to trust people, its that because of him being the last of his kind - last time it got him here and now he wants out. Sublte signs that he has lingering post traumatic stress hint that something in his past has irrepairably damaged his psyche and because of it - he refuses to let that get in the way of his work to earn a way out of this station that seemingly no one wants to leave.

However friendship with Moz can be earned, actions, a kindness here that isnt expected to be reciprocated. Even something as simple as taking the initiative to ask or share is an echo back to his former life. Before his people were ended and he - the only of his kind. Loyalty often with him is similar to honor - for someone who hes loyal to and that they have earnt it. They'd find someone deeper than the rough facade that he portrays as a mercenary without a heart. Someone who actually never wanted such a life and actually prefers the silence over the hustle and bustle along with the grind of station life.

Skills:
Tactical awareness - possible hints of being military trained.
Electrical and mechanical skills.
Zero G skills, knows how to use a spacesuit and operate in low or no gravity environments.
Basic first aid skills - doesnt really understand how others like humans and other aliens work tho.

Firearms trained and possibly expert in some energy weapons <He has only got a pistol but if others are handed to him, he will figure it out>.

Moderate Hand to hand combat in what could best be described of similar human origins from CQC Krava maga ,which includes brutal strikes that aim more to break key bones or incapacitate. This ties into his own abilities in evading grapples using precoc and tachipsychia to end a prolonged fight with targeted blows. However- against multiple opponents he prefers fighting at range than CQC more so because - one it doesnt burn him out as much.

Lastly - knows how to cook however - since his new addition of a symbiotic creature has allowed him to experience complex sugars, hes been realising what noodles are and other dishes that once before he could never eat and sadly only throw up.

Strengths:
Physiology below the skin is different, different bone density, muscle fibers and nerve design with three times redundancy. Two hearts and a considerably higher blood sugar level.
Double iris around the pupil, instead of a single ring there are two - capable of breaking the light into various lengths and able to see both in natural light, infrared and low light. At various points can induce eyeshine effect depending on light spectrum.
Hands consist of an extra finger to the human standard of four fingers and a thumb - increased grip strength.

- Precognition the ability to glance ahead at time between five to seven seconds further ahead at the expense of burning large amounts of blood sugar or induce a tachipsychia effect.

Weaknesses:
  • Unable to process Alcohol and its toxic
  • Caffine in any substance is a highly addictive substance to his kind. Withdrawals cause aches and pains in bands around the joints and back. Excessive caffination ie, three or more doses can kill and be classed as an overdose
  • Cannot use the tachipsychia indefinatly nor the precog ability either. Irrespective of having access to sugar, the time between uses increases after each sequential use and side effects.
  • Precog - Burns through blood sugar, can cause dizziness, fainting, nausia and sluggishness depending after how many times this was used. If used once, just causes a feeling of fatigue. If used more than three times, can and without sugar access kill him.
  • Tachipsychia - between a dose of sugar and fifteen minutes, this can be used at three to five seconds to a max of four times. With Leesi's enhancement this can be used one additional time however with extreme fatigue making it need to go to sleep for a period of four hours.

Name: Leesii - Moz calls itLee
Race: Aeelsa
Appearance: Appears to resemble that of a worm or a descaled snake with red beaded eyes and no mouth. Its capable of locomotion and can at certain points levitate. Her colour is that of albino white, evidence of scar tissue along its back indicates the larger protective scales were removed. However current regrowth is showing but - until the scales are restored they are exceptionally fulnerable and hence Moz wears protective gear until she has restored her own scales. These scales are made of a rich and dense mineral which makes them impervious to small arms, knives and bladed weapons along with resistance to some energy blade weapons.

Skills: Enhanced shared awareness - once bonded to a host they can share an awareness of others both the energy that they give to a limited short area.
Other enhancements are further increases strength as the limitations subconciously over the body are reduced and healing is greatly increased. For the most part this is a symbiotic relationship and while highly intelligent can assist with more from past hosts. Leas skills are a mixture of electronics, hacking and spaceflight before its capture. If Moz is rendered unconcious, it can access and control his body as a back up consciousness and access his skills shared with it.

Telepathy: Short range and more so with the host.

Strengths: Enhancing the host it is bonded to.
Weaknesses: It needs a living host to exist. Without a host this will cause the creature over the period of three hours start to die, wither and endure agonising pain. When Moz found it, it was within a tank that provided the false echo of a living host and access to nutrients but this was merely delaying what was a painfilled existence where the scales were repeatedly removed from it for mineral extraction.

Mahelassa

Appearance:
Mahelassa is a refit human woman who stands about five feet, four inches. Her physical appearance changes constantly with the latest trends and fashions of the pleasure district. She currently sports raven black hair that trails down her back and purple cybernetic eyes. She is about to turn thirty five however her augmentations have made her look ageless. In fact, her augmentations are subtle and meant to highlight, smooth and draw attention to her body instead of actually being functional. Thus, she looks slightly unnatural but still attractive to the right clients.

Strengths
Working her way up in the brothel, she had learned the art of seduction, manipulation and slyness. Whatever her current client wishes her to be, she can become, thus she is very talented at hiding emotions, acting and generally dissociating from her surroundings so she can just get through the day. She also knows how to sweet talk and extract information out of her clients innocently. However, she had never used this particular skill in earnest as she will not be sticking her neck out for anyone. She also has learned how to sneak around the brothel almost like a shadow, picking up tidbits here and there. But again, will only do so if the reward is bigger than the risk

Weaknesses
Because she hadn't left the brothel in almost fifteen years, she is pretty clueless about anything that is happening outside of the immediate district. She does glean what she can from her clients but her knowledge of the wider planet is limited. Her owners prefer the courtesans to have limited info to the outside world so they can just focus on their work. She also have zero combat skills or implants that would make combat easier. She have a tracker located inside her body (actual location is unknown to her to prevent her from digging it out). If she leaves the brothel in any unauthorized way, AI sentry bots will activate and hunt her down. The tracker could be deactivated by either control key or if data was wiped from the system.

She carries a hand fan as her signature piece, using it to cover her face and be coy. She also carries a hairpin that could be used as a stabby object if so pressed.
 
There has been some small but important alterations to the sectors after i realised i had missed out the number VI. So If your location is important, or is going to be go back and double check. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Also to help you guys plan ahead. Within the city there is going to be this event called the bounty hunt , corporations, companies or private investors sponsor a runner to "survive" 72hrs within the city. At hour 24 Aethalgard Nexus release Hunter teams. These are teams of 4 who's job it is to tag and capture the runner and hold them until the 72hrs is up. Whoever remains free wins essentially what equates to freedom in Vortek.

Why is this significant to your characters? Well , because the hunt is very disruptive . Runners are free to go pretty much anywhere, its a huge spectacle , if there's word a runner is in the area crowds turn up , media turns up. So if you require a distraction they are available for that use. I have a table of runners, their sponsors and their equipment if anyone requires extra details. Its very roughly formatted just now so if you require info, or even want to create your own that's fine, i will just require their specs and their sponsors position /business.
I need this because the Runners are going to become significant a little ways into the story.

sorry the information is coming in fits and starts, i just want to be sure everyone has relevant world information, but i am also trying to fit my post in and prepare npcs to help knit things together .

For now as far as posting order goes. Since characters are separated across the map at the moment just tag the relevant person and they can reply.
Can we pls give each other a little grace though, consider things like time zones and work.
Give people time to reply to you before moving on.
If you are going to have a problem posting for any reason, like you are busy on weekends or something just let everyone know.

Mahelassa is unable to leave the brothel at this time so feel free to continue the contract meet up without her reactions. At the moment, her reactions will be limited to anything that happens inside the brothel.
 
It is general artificial Gravity citywide. I'm not smart enough , to figure out appropriate gravity scaling per sector. Not just that but the sector division is a little more complicated than the simplified version i implied in the intro. Just be aware that crossing sectors requires a security check of some description. If you are in an aero car a checkpoint will scan the vehicle.

From what I am understanding this is cyberpunk, there are other alien races aside from those outlined, pure humans are commodities/goods, most humans seem some mix of human and machine (so cyborgs which is what I'm imagining or 'refitters' as you call them). And these runners are set for life if they manage to end up surviving 72 hours with hunters released at hour 24.

Tentative idea to make a 'runner' who is an alien species of part dino/part human alien. Race is Dinoir. Could be a captive prince or exiled royalty who was former smuggler/pirate who is put as one of the runners for entertainment/make the sponsor money only to use it as a chance to escape and disappear into the overall universe outside of Vortex if possible...possibly banning with other runners (either allies or sabotaging them for their own goal). Not much else thought of for this.

Appearance:
Standing 3.5 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds, this boxy little unit is stout and strong. Think something like GIR from Invader Zim. He's older, with dents and welds marking repairs he's had over the decades. He prides himself on staying clean, so there's no rust or dirt if he can help it.


Motivation:
  • Prime Directive: His current main goal is to find information on what happened to his previous owner, Jester.
  • Other Driving Factors: He wants to be human and understand the emotions he was implanted with.
  • Morality: He is trying to understand the shades of gray that separate good from evil.

Skills:
  • Remarkably intelligent—which is very unusual for his model.
  • Programming focused on data retrieval and infiltration.
  • Disabling security is where his strongest skills lie.
  • Retained factory-default programming that allows him to pick up any menial task effectively.
  • Can build gadgets from scrap if given enough time.

Strengths:
  • Physically strong enough to roll over a car or something similar.
  • Often mistaken for a household droid, leading people to underestimate him or ignore him altogether.
  • Possesses strong observational skills.
  • Can see in the dark.

Weaknesses:
  • Stubby legs make him slow. At top speed, he can only keep up with the average human.
  • Energy: Must recharge his batteries periodically.
  • Emotional Filter: Both a strength and a weakness.
  • Memory Banks: Unlike most bots, he doesn't have perfect recall due to damage. He can forget things or misremember them.
  • Prime Directive: His obsession with finding Jester can override other priorities.

Items of Significance:
  • Neural connection to general data streams carrying news and information.
  • Light weaponry built in but hidden—nothing that can crack armor, but offers some small firepower.
  • One forearm hides a spinning blade (like a circular saw); the other hides a grappling hook.
  • Contains a very large encrypted datafile; he has no clue what's in it.
  • Contains a very large bomb designed to detonate if the datafile is ever decrypted.
Let me know if any changes are needed to better fit the story.

I then dialled that up to 11 with a cyberpunk aesthetic.

I actually thought that your initial picture https://writerssanctum.com/attachments/1000002433-jpg.142497/ on the first game post was pretty descriptive of a place that was built out of other ships and modules.
 
I'm going to be on vacation Wednesday night through Monday. I might be able to post occasionally, but it'll be more sporadic and from my phone.
Thats fine, its going to take a minute for us to get into our stride because i am playing catch up. So long as ppl on holiday drop in here once a week to say you are still interested , I will wait on you.
