The Mysterious Angel
It was Christmas Eve, and the Millers family was dining together, laughing, making a small talk. There were lots of goods on the table, from roasted chicken, to green salad. Adrian and Eva were playing together with the wooden blocks. Marietta watched their game go on, the mirth in their eyes. She sighed, sadly. Annika, a very good friend came to pat her back and sympathise, but it didn't help.
After some time, the whole family was scattered all around the spacious room, making small talk with each other. Adrian and Eva stayed mostly together, being twins and all. Many people commented on their luscious golden curls and their bright blue eyes. Marietta took these compliments with a smile, although her curls were brown, and eyes were green as the christmas tree in the corner.
Then, all of a sudden, a knock came on the door. Marietta felt her heart skip a beat in anticipation. Perhaps another guest? Who knows. Marietta went to open the door, and once she did, the whole room stilled their doings.
Golden curls of hair.
Bright blue eyes.
That same, warm, silly smile.
The entire room then seemed to overflow with happiness, and mirth. Marietta couldn't find words to describe what she felt. The man in question hugged Adrian and Eva, both of which were shouting "Papa!". She hugged him, her traditional dress sliding over that camouflaged military outfit of his, the one she had seen him wearing when he left that very same door 3 years ago. She pecked his lips, and leaned her head onto his shoulderm feeling strong arms hug her back.
