This might be a little long, but it is important for you to read first and then decide if we're compatible or not. So, grab some coffee or a snack and let me tell you about myself.

About me:

I am Bartimaeus and I am thirty something years old. I have a family (including small kids), a job and that takes quite a bit of my time, so keep this in mind. My gender is not relevant since I am not looking for any match in real life. As a roleplayer I can play both male and female characters.

About my writing style:
English is not my main language, but I do my best to be decent. I write in 3rd person and I can't do otherwise. I love details and I do tend to write a lot, mainly if I have enough to work with so I can even go novela. What I require is to have someone that likes to build up the story together and not wait for me all the time to move on from scene to scene or from an idea to the other. I also like to play and use as many side characters as needed to make the story even more interesting. I like to slowly build up the relationship between the characters and eventually for them to become romantically involved. Also, since I see the roleplay as writing together a great story, I love to give my partner some insights so they have something to work with in the back of their minds as we develop the story and the characters, without the character to know or get directly impacted by it. Is not anything spoiler like, I promise.

Reply frequency: Keep in mind that I have a real life and that I really like to work on my replies. If everything goes well I can reply once a day or once every other day, depending on how hectic my real life goes.

Talk outside the RP or OOC chat as they call it: I definitely like to talk and plot with my partner. Mostly rp related, since I tend to be a private person. I don't pry into your real life, you don't pry in mine. I don't mean it couldn't happen at some point, but don't be intrusive. Also, I consider communication to be the key to good roleplay. I don't mind brainstorming or even being told if something is not to my partner's liking as long as you're not being aggressive or rude. Being honest and open is very important to me.

Another thing that I find important for you to know is not to mix me and my character along. We're not the same. I don't use myself as a reference when I make them and I ask you not to do it as well. Don't give any of them your real name either. It might end up making me feel uncomfortable and wanting to end the rp. I like drama in the story, not in ooc chats and real life.

Ghosting: I find it to be a very rude practice, hence I don't do it. Is it okay to do it only if we didn't start the rp, even though you could be honest and say you don't think we click enough to write together. I promise I won't get upset. But if we started the rp already, please let me know if you lost interest, or if you need a break or whatever. Don't just vanish. I really get into the stories and it ticks me off when I am left hanging. I am sure it's the same for you too.

Pairings I do: I only do MxF/FxM pairing or MxM one. I just can't play anything else. Also, not good at playing transgender, or gender fluid and other things like this. I have nothing against them, I just can't play them. My characters are male or female and strongly love their gender. For male characters mine are usually very manly, but I don't mind if a partner in MxM gets to be more feminine and sensitive as long as they don't turn into a female like character. So please keep this in mind. Other things we will discuss when we get past this introduction.

If I end up playing a female character, keep in mind that I might want a male character who is very confident, strong and not easily intimidated. I don't mind them having moments of weakness, but don't expect a female character from me that plays the mommy/nanny role. It's just not my cup of tea.

Sexual content: I don't mind writing and being descriptive BUT, I don't really like to make the whole story about it. I find it better to have it when the moment comes. I don't like writing only smut scenes. Also, I don't mind sexual scenes that are not very descriptive if they're not between our main characters and they help one way or the other the story. Again, don't abuse it. I don't hunt for sexual stories and I don't find pleasure in writing porn.

If we reach here though I am quite open even though I don't have a kink list. To have that might mean I'd go too far and I don't think it's needed. But, if the story goes great and we reach this point, I am open to talk about it. Used to play in this area a lot and I ended up being bored.

Genres that I prefer: I just love a good story that has a lot of plot twists, angst, inner turnoil, trauma, psychological issues, crime, thriller, mystery, assassins, revenge, fantasy (just to a point - not good at writing extreme fantasy and create worlds and such), drama, love issues, culture differences, age gap (both characters must be adult though), enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, kidnaping soulmates finally meeting each other and much more. I could even do Slice of Life if it's not monotone and has something interesting going on.

What I DO NOT play: SF, aliens and spaceships and such are such a mood killer for me. Also, I don't like to focus a plot on themes like LGBTQ community or racism or religion and such. These are quite sensitive topics and I won't roleplay around them. And in the end I must say I won't do Fandoms. I could never understand it, I don't judge it at all, but I am not into it.

I also won't do anything that enters in the following labels: animals/bestiality (just no), real incest (I don't mind step X to step Y, but not real incest, please), male pregnancy, gore/vore, scat and whatever else extreme like stuff enters here. Not my cup of tea.

Characters: As I previously said, my characters will be male or female only, very happy with their gender. Now, for the male characters, they tend to be very masculine, with strong personality, analytical, sarcastic sometimes. It does depend a lot on the dynamic of the roleplay and my partner. I tend to watch carefully the way my partner replies, search for the limits if they're not well defined, maybe push them to make sure, but I won't cross them. Female characters are not the cute, silly, soft, fluffy, the most and the best and such … They're strong willed women, with lots of background that made them into whom they are. Now, depending on how the male character of my partner is playing the role she can become one way or another.

I might use same characters in more than one rp, but I mold them to fit the story we are writing.

We could do real life face claims, AI or anime ones, I don't care as long as they're both same.

Everything else we might discuss in private. I am open to talk and to answer any questions as long as you respect me. I know you might still have questions so please, ask. If the talk goes well I could also offer sample of my writing. Hope to hear from you soon!

Talking in your sleep

"This night seemed to be darker than usual. The moon was trying uselessly to pass through those thick clouds and the dense mist. The park was empty and quiet. Strangely quiet. Not even a nocturne animal could be heard. Only one man was standing there on the ground completing this whole scenery. Not moving, not making a sound, the cigarette in his hand almost burning his fingers. His long and dark hair was mixed with mud and withered leaves, partially covering his neck and face. The same suit he wore for more than a week was now ragged and dirty as well. An icky smell surrounded him, a mountain of empty bottles and the cigarette in his hand were more than a heavy proof of that. He seemed dead. Only the light movement of his chest when breathing showed that he was still alive.

His eyes were squirming under the lids and his livid lips were trembling making his pale face look almost scary. He wasn't asleep for very long. He lit the cigarette and closed his eyes only for a few seconds. He was so tired ... The fifth day without sleeping ... the fifth day of wandering the streets with no direction, looking for death, redemption or ... maybe for nothing.

A dark silhouette appeared before him and whispered in a strange, broken voice "I trusted you ... You're such a liar!" Soon after that, another voice yelled into his mind "WAKE UP!", but then the silhouette whispered again before disappearing "I'll keep watching you!"

The cigarette in his hand finally burned his fingers and the pain woke him up. Wincing and opening his eyes, Ofir looked around trying to find the person that talked with him earlier. Was I asleep?! he asked himself ... No ... No ... he thought, shaking, his head lightly leaning onto his hand. I can't sleep ... Passing a hand through his hair, the man managed to stand up with failed attempts of cleaning himself and making the clothes on him look more trimmed."
***

It is the story of Ofir Valtery, a man in his thirties. His whole existence is surrounded by mystery. He appeared out of nowhere to the orphanage, devoured all the books he could lay his hands on, he proved to be a genius, and ended up working as a detective to just disappear out of nowhere. He is now in this park trapped in between two worlds. Currently writing a book on this idea so it's not up for a rp.

"As he grew older, he could see and understand on his own things that he never thought of when he was younger. And he never had anyone to talk to, anyone to caress and care for him. His mother started to drink a lot and act so weird towards him. His hate for her grew stronger and it was eating his last drop of humanity becoming an empty but beautiful shell. In the end he figured out what that woman wanted from him. He was not a small helpless child anymore and it seemed that his anger and his burning eyes were lighting a fire deep inside her, a fire that she demanded to be cooled off. He remembered the gross feeling of her skin on his and the disgusting scent of her body. He was not his father but he was forced to act as if he was. Taking care of her detestable desires, cooling off the fire within her, but making his hate grow stronger beyond imagination. After a while she became weak in his arms, talking about something he had no idea what it was, offering caresses he could never understand nor accept. And that was her fatal mistake. Instead of raising a son, she raised a soulless person. It was what brought her to an end. The only moment he felt what he read about to be similar with happiness was when he saw life disappearing from her eyes under his strong fingers, right on what was supposed to be the ultimate pleasure for her. And no one dared to investigate too much the death of the new master's mother.

He was 21 years old when that happened. Because of the lust and drinking problem of his mother in the last years and the sickness of his father, the business went down. He had to struggle and put it back on track. His luck was that he was always paying attention to the lessons he was given about how to run the business. He heard his parents talking a lot, the employees, the ones that were sometimes visiting their house to sign some contracts. And his observation spirit always helped him to make a difference between traitors and trustworthy people. So, he fired all the old employees since they all took advantage of the difficult period of time the family business went through and he gathered a few men to work with. He tested them long enough and only when he was sure that they deserve he offered them his thrust. Even though he always used to say … "Never trust anyone, not even your own shadow." And so, the village that was 2 h away from the mansion was filled with the new families of his employees. Things were going back on track and prospering. Was a lot of work, but he could relax a bit now.

But he was a young and beautiful man. His deep green eyes with the mysterious gaze were like a magnet for the young girls that were crossing his path. The long brown hair that reached his waist was adding more to his tall and domineering appearance. His hate for women was too big though to let any one of them bring light into his cold and dark soul and so he used everything he had to trap them and twist their minds. Even so, there were a few that caught his interest because of their personalities so he developed new games, slowly discovering other paths of pleasure. His rage was going berserk and cooling it off was giving him a sort of power of decompression. And he tasted it with all his being. Their innocent appearance was in such a big contrast with their desires, desires that he managed to pull out eventually. There was no woman that dared to defy him. In the end they were all lowering their heads in front of him in obedience driven either by fear or desire. Whichever it was, Kedar didn't give a damn. And so, now, into the big mansion it was him and the ten most beautiful women of that land. Working for him in more than one way, cursed to be bound to him till the end of their life. His senses were always alert, never trusting anyone, always doubting. "Words always lie … Tears as well …"

"Alice was born in a small town, quite close to the countryside and since she was a teenager she dreamed of living in a big city and facing every provocation she might encounter. Even though her hobby is painting, she works in an IT company on development. That offers her the possibility to combine work with travel just fine.

The phone was ringing way too loud and for way too long to be someone from work so she just grabbed it and answered it half asleep, without even looking at the screen.

"What?!" she said, mumbling with the face still buried into her pillow. "Oh, mom! … Can you stop being so persistent everytime you're calling?" she asked with a whiny voice.

She just had her mother left. Alice was an only child and her dad just left them both when she was around 16 years old for another woman. She was old enough to understand everything and because of that she promised herself never to get into any kind of similar situation. So she just focused on her studies and then work and hobbies.

"What's up mom? What's burning that you had to be so persistent about it this morning?" she asked, crawling out of bed and heading to the kitchen yawning, wanting to make some coffee. "A wedding? And what has that to do with me? You know I dislike weddings, mom …"

She was holding the phone in between her cheek and her shoulder, listening to her mom telling her how there was this relative of his father that she actually still gets along with pretty well even if they didn't see each other for years.

"And why do I have to go, mom? She's your friend! I don't want to go to any wedding mom. Especially not at any wedding that has even the slightest connection with dad and even worse ... One that could actually get us face to face" she grumbled with a grimace on her face.

"But Alice … It's an event that lasts a whole week. I cannot get off my schedule for an entire week. Besides I have that contract to sign with the investors right on the day of the wedding." said her mom before getting a short moment to breathe. "I am sure they won't get upset for sending you instead. Please?! Do that for me. You can go, right? Pleeeeeease!"

Alice sighed and nodded before telling her mom that she was okay with it.

"You owe me big time for this, alright?! Yeah! I love you too! Send me the details!" she asked before cutting the call. "I cannot believe this!" she mumbled while pouring the coffee into a mug. "Weddings and all they represent are a synonym for trouble and lies but nicely wrapped. Tsk!" Her phone beeped and she looked to see that her mother sent her the details. So she had to wear a nice dress and this wedding was faaaar away in a God's forsaken place she never heard about. "Great!" she whined again while making her luggage since she had to depart the very same day and it was a 5 hours long trip.

On the road she was doing just fine till very close to the destination when her car stopped and some smoke seemed to pop out from under the hood.

"Awesome! Great omen! Thanks mom! Gosh! Stupid car!" she said while kicking the car's wheel. She took out her phone thinking she could call someone for help but there was no signal there. And it was also too late to start walking till that town.

"Can this get any better?!" she sighed exasperated and plopped down next to the car hoping that at some point someone will pass on that deserted road and help her out."

This is supposed to be a funny plot kinda. It was the first time I thought of playing a female character, but never posted it anywhere. I mostly thought for this to be something funny ... I never thought of how it can continue, but I'm up for discussions.
