This might be a little long, but it is important for you to read first and then decide if we're compatible or not. So, grab some coffee or a snack and let me tell you about myself.
About me:
I am Bartimaeus and I am thirty something years old. I have a family (including small kids), a job and that takes quite a bit of my time, so keep this in mind. My gender is not relevant since I am not looking for any match in real life. As a roleplayer I can play both male and female characters.
About my writing style:
English is not my main language, but I do my best to be decent. I write in 3rd person and I can't do otherwise. I love details and I do tend to write a lot, mainly if I have enough to work with so I can even go novela. What I require is to have someone that likes to build up the story together and not wait for me all the time to move on from scene to scene or from an idea to the other. I also like to play and use as many side characters as needed to make the story even more interesting. I like to slowly build up the relationship between the characters and eventually for them to become romantically involved. Also, since I see the roleplay as writing together a great story, I love to give my partner some insights so they have something to work with in the back of their minds as we develop the story and the characters, without the character to know or get directly impacted by it. Is not anything spoiler like, I promise.
Reply frequency: Keep in mind that I have a real life and that I really like to work on my replies. If everything goes well I can reply once a day or once every other day, depending on how hectic my real life goes.
Talk outside the RP or OOC chat as they call it: I definitely like to talk and plot with my partner. Mostly rp related, since I tend to be a private person. I don't pry into your real life, you don't pry in mine. I don't mean it couldn't happen at some point, but don't be intrusive. Also, I consider communication to be the key to good roleplay. I don't mind brainstorming or even being told if something is not to my partner's liking as long as you're not being aggressive or rude. Being honest and open is very important to me.
Another thing that I find important for you to know is not to mix me and my character along. We're not the same. I don't use myself as a reference when I make them and I ask you not to do it as well. Don't give any of them your real name either. It might end up making me feel uncomfortable and wanting to end the rp. I like drama in the story, not in ooc chats and real life.
Ghosting: I find it to be a very rude practice, hence I don't do it. Is it okay to do it only if we didn't start the rp, even though you could be honest and say you don't think we click enough to write together. I promise I won't get upset. But if we started the rp already, please let me know if you lost interest, or if you need a break or whatever. Don't just vanish. I really get into the stories and it ticks me off when I am left hanging. I am sure it's the same for you too.
Pairings I do: I only do MxF/FxM pairing or MxM one. I just can't play anything else. Also, not good at playing transgender, or gender fluid and other things like this. I have nothing against them, I just can't play them. My characters are male or female and strongly love their gender. For male characters mine are usually very manly, but I don't mind if a partner in MxM gets to be more feminine and sensitive as long as they don't turn into a female like character. So please keep this in mind. Other things we will discuss when we get past this introduction.
If I end up playing a female character, keep in mind that I might want a male character who is very confident, strong and not easily intimidated. I don't mind them having moments of weakness, but don't expect a female character from me that plays the mommy/nanny role. It's just not my cup of tea.
Sexual content: I don't mind writing and being descriptive BUT, I don't really like to make the whole story about it. I find it better to have it when the moment comes. I don't like writing only smut scenes. Also, I don't mind sexual scenes that are not very descriptive if they're not between our main characters and they help one way or the other the story. Again, don't abuse it. I don't hunt for sexual stories and I don't find pleasure in writing porn.
If we reach here though I am quite open even though I don't have a kink list. To have that might mean I'd go too far and I don't think it's needed. But, if the story goes great and we reach this point, I am open to talk about it. Used to play in this area a lot and I ended up being bored.
Genres that I prefer: I just love a good story that has a lot of plot twists, angst, inner turnoil, trauma, psychological issues, crime, thriller, mystery, assassins, revenge, fantasy (just to a point - not good at writing extreme fantasy and create worlds and such), drama, love issues, culture differences, age gap (both characters must be adult though), enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, kidnaping soulmates finally meeting each other and much more. I could even do Slice of Life if it's not monotone and has something interesting going on.
What I DO NOT play: SF, aliens and spaceships and such are such a mood killer for me. Also, I don't like to focus a plot on themes like LGBTQ community or racism or religion and such. These are quite sensitive topics and I won't roleplay around them. And in the end I must say I won't do Fandoms. I could never understand it, I don't judge it at all, but I am not into it.
I also won't do anything that enters in the following labels: animals/bestiality (just no), real incest (I don't mind step X to step Y, but not real incest, please), male pregnancy, gore/vore, scat and whatever else extreme like stuff enters here. Not my cup of tea.
Characters: As I previously said, my characters will be male or female only, very happy with their gender. Now, for the male characters, they tend to be very masculine, with strong personality, analytical, sarcastic sometimes. It does depend a lot on the dynamic of the roleplay and my partner. I tend to watch carefully the way my partner replies, search for the limits if they're not well defined, maybe push them to make sure, but I won't cross them. Female characters are not the cute, silly, soft, fluffy, the most and the best and such … They're strong willed women, with lots of background that made them into whom they are. Now, depending on how the male character of my partner is playing the role she can become one way or another.
I might use same characters in more than one rp, but I mold them to fit the story we are writing.
We could do real life face claims, AI or anime ones, I don't care as long as they're both same.
Everything else we might discuss in private. I am open to talk and to answer any questions as long as you respect me. I know you might still have questions so please, ask. If the talk goes well I could also offer sample of my writing. Hope to hear from you soon!
