YC hears of a solitary witch that had moved and opened up shop in the town just outside of his territory. With bias against her kind, he investigates. She is a strange woman with soft eyes and an even softer voice. She doesn't appear to be an outright threat, still he will leave her with a warning. Before he manages to exit the shop, she follows up with her own threat, leaving an impression on the man.
Some time passes and there was accident that lead to one of his pack members being poisoned. Recalling the conversation that he had with the witch he seeks her out, demanding that she cure the wounded wolf. Complications arise but she is able to stabilize the wounded.
MC brings up that now YC owes her a favor. Although it seems ominous at first, she makes her request: sanctuary. She doesn't elaborate on what exactly she is running from but he accepts it nonetheless.
Plot: MC is running from a crazy ex, who also happens to be a werewolf. YC is the alpha of his own pack.
