Hola, fellow creative writing enthusiasts, and roleplay-centric aficionado's!
For all intents and purposes ( and to the point of anonymity in usernames ) I'm Duck! I'd like to say that there is a lengthy backstory and well-earned justification for the name, or anything at all which may have any particular depth to it... but alas, that is not the case. I just think ducks and their rubber counterparts are amusing and find the usage of them in slang vulgarities ( mother ducker, duck you, just duck it, etc. ) to be entertaining. Grown men, more oft than not, are not all that grown. That really is the length of it. Sorry to disappoint.
I'd heard of this place in passing a time or two and I believe once upon a time may have made an account ( though never got around to ever using it ) - but until recently I regret that I haven't really had the availability to sit and write. It may not seem like it, but the peace of mind and body and/or place really can be a luxury sometimes. Over the last bit of the grand adventure called life, however, I've been able to settle in to a new chapter, retire from doing questionable and nonsensical things for the U.S. Government and now find myself neatly retired in my 30's and a stay at home dog-dad. That being said, let's get into a little bit about me from a writing perspective.
I've been writing off and on in one capacity or another for the better part of 25-ish years, which may seem like a lifetime for some, but a drop in the bucket to others. I started ( like many in my generational abyss ) in chatrooms and text based games, the occasional opportunity to partake in a D&D campaign, and then developed into various play-by-post and play-by-email sorts of roleplaying and creative writing endeavors. It's something that I feel most of you here will understand, or come to if you haven't already, to be something that has a very particular and altogether unique itch that it scratches deep in the confines of a creative mind that no other medium really manages to approach.
I'm excited to delve into something so new and yet altogether familiar, and hopefully look forward to crafting enjoyable stories with you all. I look to have my roleplay request / overview thread up here after awhile. I look forward to writing with you all!

TL;DR : 30-Something dude from the Midwest recently retired from doing dumb shit for the U.S. Government now looks to engage in witty penmanship with you all. Get ducked.
