This request thread is specifically for stories set in the universe of A Song of Ice and Fire, or an analogous dark fantasy world of our own making. I am primarily a books fan, however! I also recognize that most people are more familiar with the show (Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon/A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms). That's also ok, I'm happy to fill in any lore gaps you might have. I'd prefer to create new characters for these stories mostly because a large portion of the main cast of the books is underage.
the dragon in exile:
(will play either role)
When her family was ripped from the Iron Throne, the last scion of the ruling house fled across the narrow sea. There, she waited and plotted to return to her home and take up her father's throne. Unbeknownst to most of the world, she has something that has not been seen in almost a hundred years: a live (warm) dragon's egg
Thoughts for her counterpart:
An "adventurer", aka a pirate king who has the ships she'll need to invade
A sworn sword: possibly from a house that followed her family into exile and continued to serve them
Someone else with the blood of the dragon; another distant cousin, another owner of an egg (because the idea of a romantic dragon ride is so ridiculous cool to me)
blood feuds and betrothals
Our characters are two members of houses that have been feuding for centuries. Probably since the first people settled in the riverlands. There have been a thousand slights and various murders, plots and insults between the two. Only now, they have a new king who has declared his rule over the entire seven kingdoms. And he's tired of hearing about these two houses and their messy enmity. He orders a marriage between the eldest daughter of one house, and the heir of the other in the hopes of eventually mending the breach. If not, there's always those dragons left as an ever-present threat if the two houses refuse to make nice with each other.
beyond the wall
(happy to play both, slightly more partial to the ranger)
A ranger of the Night's Watch is exploring the land beyond the wall when he is attacked and left for dead. He's taken in by a wildling, who patches up his wounds and feeds him. As a southerner who grew up hearing all sorts of horrible tales of barbaric wildlings, he's surprised to be spared by one when he expected them to slit his throat. The wildling could be male or female, maybe a greenseer or a spearwife who takes pity on him. The ranger will soon be forced to choose between his vows and the debt he owes for his life
the dance of the dragons
It's a Targaryen (or an OC house, because we do what we want here) civil war. Brother against brother, a realm divided. Battles fought on dragonback. The old king had named his daughter as his heir, but the queen (his 2nd wife) and her family had conspired to put her younger half-brother on the throne, ignoring the king's will. The princess is ready to go to war to protect her rights. The other main character could be someone in her camp - maybe a bastard half-cousin? Or someone from another dragon riding house
Other idea snippets:
- the knight of the laughing tree: a noble girl decides to enter a tournament as a mystery knight, sparking the curiosity of one of her opponents as to the identity of this smaller, slighter knight who jousts like no one he's ever seen before
Do you have a story in this setting that you want to write? Hit me up!
