Hey y'all!

This is an ad for a specific plot and characters that I've been trying to find the right partner for, so I'm gonna dive into that first cause honestly it's a waste of time to read a bunch of other details if you don't like the plot and this is already gonna be a lot of words! But if you really want those details first, just skip the next...uh...nine paragraphs or so.

This story follows two women. They were born to nothing. They fought, clawed, tore their way up, leaving everything, even themselves, behind in a desperate, violent rise into everything. Now they're surrounded by people who love them that they cannot relate to and the future is nothing but bright. It's a story of contradictions. They've spent their entire lives carefully crafting their own cages and now they're wearing holes into the floor with their incessant pacing in the confines. There's a hunger inside of them, to be seen and known, that can't be sated by anyone they've met. Until each other. Their meeting, however it occurs, is visceral. Whether it starts with love, hate, or a secret third option, the connection cannot be denied and encouraging it will lead to nothing but pain for them and everyone in their lives.

On one side of the coin is Aspen Elizabeth Decker. Made her way through high school with sparkling grades and a simmering reputation. Full ride to Berkley to study physics. Graduated in 3 years, Masters in 2, PhD in 4. Met Dr. (medical) Benjamin 'Benny' Wescott in year 2 of the PhD, engaged in six months, married a year later, pregnant during dissertation defense. First child, Selene Decker (Benny took Aspen's last name), delivered during the first three months of Aspen's new job. David (named after Benny's grandfather) Decker came a year later. Tubes tied as soon as physically possible after the second pregnancy and a vasectomy for Benny. Five years later, Aspen is at the forefront of her field and has two beautiful children and a husband who is devoted to her and their family. She's accomplished everything she was ever told to achieve. Now all she has to do is maintain it. For the rest of her life.

Who is on the other side of the coin? She's successful in her own right, has her own dark past, her own loving partner, and a life that should (but doesn't) fulfill her, but who is she?

Okay, that's the short version and now here's a writing sample that I spoilered to save space and a few more ideas about this plot (character dynamic might be the more accurate label in retrospect) in no particular order and then I promise I'll tell you my name.

Writing sample:
The candy red trike lay on its side, the third wheel squeaking as it slowed to a stop. Golden light filtered out the front door into the dusky air. Shrieking laughter echoed from within the house. Aspen sat inside her BYD Han on the driveway, windows rolled up, and stared at the door. Her chest was tight, breath measured. Benny came to look out. The light reflected off the grey streaks in his charcoal hair. He smiled at the sight of her car and waved. She waved back. He raised an expectant eyebrow so she got out and walked over.

"Long day?" he asked.

"It was fine," Aspen said.

He nodded. They'd both had their fair share of 'fine' days. Home was a space away from that. A place where Aspen didn't have to answer any questions about her life outside of it.

"Mommy!"

Selene and David attached themselves to her legs before Benny had a chance to close to the door behind her. Aspen tousled their hair.

"Miss me?"

"Yeah!" they yelled in unison.

Benny's scruffy whiskers were coarse on her cheek when he kissed her from behind. "So did I."

He grabbed the kids and pulled them off her. "Come on, you two. Let's get dinner set up for your mom."

Aspen stood in the entryway, listening to their shrill voices redirecting to the new task. There were a few minutes before her presence was required. She went to her bedroom, disrobed, and turned on a hot shower. The water reddened her skin in seconds. Work was good. Family was good. She was happy.

Dinner was a raucous affair. Aspen had long since given up on it being anything else. Children were loud and had copious energy. It was a fact of life. She watched Benny chase them around the table, trying to get them to settle down, and longed for the next 13 years to be over and the house empty again. Then she sighed, acknowledging that they would have children of their own and her peace would be short lived. God, what if one of them got pregnant in high school? The thought made her shudder.

That was the future. A twisted mass of unknowable potential. This was the present, where all the data indicated that children with two active parental figures were less likely to make heinous life choices. Aspen joined in the chase and, with her and Benny's powers combined, they got the kids settled and eating. A ghost of her past flitted in front of her while they were prattling on about all of the important things they learned in kindergarten and first grade. The light disappeared, the children sunk into themselves, and Benny became–no one. He was Benny. They were Selene and David respectively. She was Aspen. Here. Now. Present.

"Oh wow," she said in response to one of David's stories. "The caterpillars were on your face?"

"Yeah! On my face! They were wriggly!"

After dinner, Aspen helped Benny clean. He told her about his day and the patients that he wanted to help but couldn't because of the constraints of his position. It bothered him. He would argue that he was the right amount of empathetic for the medical field. Aspen disagreed. Internally. Externally, she reassured him that he was doing everything he could and his patients were lucky to have a doctor who cared.

He smiled. "You always know what to say."

They entertained the children for another hour before putting them to bed. Then Aspen and Benny used the precious evening hours to take care of more work things before getting into bed themselves. Benny kissed Aspen's shoulder before rolling onto his side. It wasn't long before the silence was broken by his snoring. Aspen turned out the light on her nightstand and closed her eyes.

She was happy.

Obviously Aspen's married to a man and has the definition of success by straight standards, but she's not straight and I do intend for this to be a romantic affair. Having a lot to begin with means plenty to lose before the end of it. There are no constraints requiring your character to also have built a straight success, in fact I'd prefer it if they were actively queer and childless because the more opposition between their lives the better.

Speaking of children, Aspen's will be minor characters at best, never POV characters, and will not play major roles or be involved in any of the darker elements of this story. They exist to function as the ball connected to Aspen through the chain that is her husband and that's it.

Aspen is 34. When it comes to romantic entanglements, I'm a sucker for age gaps. I'd be happy with the difference being above or below 34 (though nothing below 25). My initial concept of Aspen had her as the elder participant but it would work equally well if she was the younger. Her journey of lesbian discovery has lots of fun opportunities either way.

Since YC remains ambiguous for the moment, I don't have any solid plans for how these two will meet and stay in each other's lives. The 'infatuation at first glance' route carries a lot of potential. The early stages of not understanding why they're so drawn together, fighting against it, trying to distance themselves emotionally and physically yet always finding themselves back together no matter how hard they try. Or not resisting at all! Why would they resist the best friend they've ever found? On paper it doesn't make sense, and that's concerning because they've put a lot of work into making sure their lives make sense, but they've also never been understood like this and it makes them happy in a new, fulfilling way that yeah sure puts everything they've built in jeopardy but it's nice! The hatred route has its own appeal. Are they at each other's throats because of personal disagreements over morals/personalities/whathaveyou? Or is it born of seeing themselves in each other and it makes them both averse to and allured by each other? What circumstances are powerful enough to keep them together while this hatred is burning? I love the idea of constant frustration building within them because they know exactly how to get under the other's skin because they see what no one else does.

A lot of the actual plot will be based around how these two and their lives interact together which is something I'm excited to develop together! I may add to this post as time goes on, but anyway here's the stuff about me and how I rp!

I'm Misha, 30, she/her, AKDT. I've been writing and roleplaying since I was a teenager and now there's nothing I love quite the same as crafting a fucked up lesbian romance with another person. I write as much as the scene calls for, whether that's a few hundred or a few thousand words, and I prefer quality over quantity every time. For this story, though, I anticipate the average post will be 1-3k. I generally respond at least once a day on weekdays and can sometimes do multiple a day depending on how life goes, weekends tend to have less frequency. Because of the desired length of posts, though, the response rate may be more like two or three times a week. There are a few things wonky in my brain health wise, so there will undoubtedly be periods where I don't respond and I'll communicate when I'm absent and ask the same in return.

I don't write with men. I recognize that labels are variable and mean different things for different people. If you identify as a man please don't contact me.

As you can see in the writing sample, I write third person past tense and ask that you do the same. Aspen was created specifically for this story and I'm looking for the same with your character. Smut is second to character and since this is a sloooooooooow burn they're not even going to get to the point of sex for a while. Kink isn't something I envision playing into this story enough to warrant kink lists, but we can exchange those if you like and we can have a more extended discussion about it. Open to most things, won't shame even if I'm not into it, so feel free to ask questions in that area.

That's all I got for now! If you've read this far, thank you! Even if you don't reach out, I appreciate your time. If you do plan to reach out, please note the effort put into this post. I don't expect you to give me the same amount back (cause like I said, been sitting on this for a minute now, lots of time to ruminate), but I don't waste time with people who don't show real interest.
