Name: Felicity D'Marc (Goes by Felicie now)
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Sexuality:
Partner: Axan
Appearance:
She has a birth mark in the shape of a dragon on the front of her left hip. It matches the Crown Prince's dragon mark. She is petite and stands 5'3"
Past: Born with the mark of a dragon, Felicity's parents knew they had to take her to the capital and present her to the king and queen so that they could find the dragon who she belonged to, which was a royal decree in the kingdom. Any who are born bearing the mark have to be brought before the Royal family. Imagine their surprise when it was discovered she was none other than the Crown Prince's bonded. Giving their word that they would teach Felicity everything she needed to know, the Count and Countess took their infant daughter and 4 year old son back to their estate outside of the capital.
As soon as Felicity was able to walk, her dance lessons and etiquette lessons began. They left out the important training though, the teaching about her mark, the teachings of the history of the land, what the royal family was, and politics. Her next visit to the palace was when she was 5 years old. She was still a carefree child at that time. Smiling and laughing, running about the garden, playing hide and seek with the prince, duke, and all the servants. They stayed for about 3 months. It was a calculated move by the Count. He wanted to see just how much this dragon bond affected the prince. He did seem to have a fondness for the girl from what the Count could see. It was after that visit to the palace that the abusive training began. They used ways to beat her without leaving scars. Mostly special magical items used for torture. Her mother began to train her to seduce the prince after marriage. They wanted to use their daughter as a means to gain power and climb the ranks of nobility. They also took it upon themselves to beat the carefreeness out of her. A proper lady was supposed to be reserved in high society.
The next time they visited the palace, Felicity was 14. It was at the persistence of the Royal family that she be brought again for the Crown Prince to see her. The Count and Countess were trying their hardest to not bring her back, but when it became a royal order, they had no choice. She was dressed in a high neck, long sleeve, conservative style dress to hide the bruises that were still left on her body. She was more reserved now, didn't smile at all, and had this look in her eyes as if she didn't want to be anywhere. She wasn't cold to the prince, but she certainly wasn't warm either. Fear made her not let him embrace her in a hug. She was told by her parents that if her bruises were discovered she would be rejected and beaten even more. So she kept her distance from him at all costs. The Count took the look that was on the prince's face as displeasure for her behavior, they quickly left the palace after just a few weeks.
It was this ride back, which even in a boosted magical carriage took a month to make, that the beatings had become harsher. Her father started on her the third night after leaving the palace. They were having to camp out, so in the Count's tent he was yelling at the trembling Felicity. He lost his control and beat her with his own fists, cracking a few of her ribs and breaking her wrist. So blinded by rage he grabbed her by her throat and began to choke her. Before she lost consciousness though, her brother Fredric had come into the tent and pulled their father off of her. While he restrained their father, she made a run for it straight into the woods. She had no idea how she was going to survive, all she knew was she had to get away from their as fast as she could.
Out of seemingly no where, a woman appeared in front of her and Felicity begged for the woman's help. The woman was from a band of travelers, often called gypsies, who put on carnivals to earn gold. She brought Felicity to the elder and with one look at her, he decided she was going to stay with them. Knowing her father would probably try looking for her that same evening, they gathered a few of their mages and transported her and a small group of gypsy women and men to another location that they would meet them at in a fortnight.
It took the Count a year to locate her again, but this time his purpose was not to bring her back, she had tasted too much freedom. He was intent on wiping her and the caravan of travelers out completely to avoid the royals finding out the truth. He did not expect the gypsies to be well trained fighters though. However, he was informed that the deed was done and his daughter was dead by one of the mercenaries he had hired. Which his own knights then wiped out to keep their mouths shut. A year after that, the Count informed the Royal family of Felicity's death. If it hadn't been for Fredric informing the Duke in secret that Felicity had actually survived and what really happened, there was no telling how the Crown Prince would have reacted.
Under the premise of the "death of a dragon's bonded while in their care" the Count and Countess were stripped of their titles and land. Fredric became the new Count D'Marc and took control of everything. He did his best to inform the prince and duke where Felicity was, but since the gypsies travelled so much between kingdoms it was difficult to keep track of them over the years. It was a miracle she had survived that fateful night, but because of that night she had also lost most of her memories.
Random information: She is a mage with healing abilities, however she has had no formal training and does not know of her abilities. She starts to discover them while living with the gypsies as the elder's adopted daughter. It was that innate ability for healing that actually saved her life when her father's hired mercenaries almost killed her.
Name: Dracen Pyralis
Age: 85
Gender: Male
Race: Dragon
Sexuality:
Partner: Elaria
Appearance:
He stands 6'4", his dragon mark is on the right side of his chest.
Past: The only son of the General and Commander, Duke Dracen runs the estate as well as performs his duties as the Crown Prince's personal guard. Not that Axan needs protecting. It was more to try and keep the two of them out of trouble. Saddle Dracen with a responsibility and suddenly he took things seriously. His father, the General is the Queen's older brother, which makes Dracen Prince Axan's cousin. Both Axan and Dracen were under the age of maturity when an infant baring a mark was presented to them. Axan and Dracen being the only two marked dragons without their bonded, they had to be present. It was no surprise to him the tiny little human bore the same mark as Axan. He had felt nothing towards her, no fondness, no love, nothing. Marked Dragons knew right away when they were in the presence of their bonded. There was a pulling sensation drawing them to their bonded. He remembered listening to other marked ones who had found their bonded already.
He couldn't wait for the day that he would find his bonded. He wanted to know what it felt like. He was slightly jealous of Axan who met his while she was still just a baby. When she was taken from the palace, he was confused. Why weren't they making something so precious to the crown prince stay there to be raised until her age of maturity? However, he was not in a position to question the King's decision. The next time the little girl came to the palace she was 5 and quite the lively character. He couldn't remember the last time he had laughed that hard as she played tricks on Axan by hiding from him and the servants. What seemed like a short time to the dragons had passed before the girl was brought back again. Dracen always found it shocking how quickly humans grew. She was not the toddler they had seen the last time. She was almost a full grown woman. She acted much different this time though. She didn't smile, she didn't laugh, she barely ate food, and she didn't even hug Axan like she had done the last time she was there. Something wasn't right. He became suspicious of the Count and Countess, though before he could bring it up, they had rushed out of the palace and back to their estate.
It wasn't until two years later the Count and Countess returned, but the girl wasn't with them. They gave a sob story of how they were attacked by a band of thieving gypsies and Felicity was brutally murdered. This angered the entire Royal family, Dracen included. A marked dragon only had one soulmate in the whole world, and if they were lost, the dragon could be lost as well. Marked dragons cared for their bonded like no other, they were the missing piece to their soul. With concern in his eyes he dared to look at Axan, but Axan seemed, not as upset as he should have been. Even though the girl was still to young for the bond to form, maybe Axan still felt a connection?
It wasn't until a little later that Fredric D'Marc, the newly appointed Count, had managed to get him pulled aside and inform him of the truth of what had happened in the D'Marc household. Fredric tried his best to protect his little sister, but with him being away at the academy for nobles a majority of the time it was difficult to protect her fully. Of course by this time the former count and countess had already been removed from the premises and escorted to a teleportation device to send them to a summer cottage within the D'Marc lands. Dracen decided they would stay there until after Felicity was brought back to the palace and made the Crown Princess after the bond was in place.
With all this, Dracen had not had time to look for his own bonded.
Random information: His true form is that of a large black dragon. His scales are an inky black like his hair and when hit with light can change to shades of blue or purple.
