Guinevere Llewellyn

Age: Fluctuates depending on plot, but usually between 23-26

Weight/Height: 56 kg, 160 cm

Brief History: Gwen is an SOE agent operating in Northern France during the second world war, specifically Brittany but this can change depending on the plot. She is of Welsh ancestry, despite the fact that she has never been to Wales in her life. She was born in the Shanghai International Settlement in 1917 and spent her childhood in the Far East; her teenage years were spent in the countryside of northern France, but her adulthood was spent predominantly in the United Kingdom. Her father was a wealthy and influential man who headed a shipping business between London and the Far East; he was able to capitalise greatly on commerce following the Great War through shipments of exotic goods. While his children were raised on foreign soil, they ultimately attended higher education back in England. Guinevere found herself in a linguistics program in Cambridge and her fraternal twin brother, Cecil, found himself an officer candidacy in Sandhurst. However, by 1939, another great war erupted throughout Europe, forcing the two children to select their next paths in life. Guinevere enlisted in the Auxiliary Territorial Service while Cecil received his commission into the army as a second leftenant. Initially having made the decision through a zealous sense of patriotism, Gwen would soon realise her overprotective sentiments for her twin brother.

By 1940, the situation grew grim and as a consequence the Special Operations Executive was formed. Among their first few recruits was Guinevere, now a multi-lingual college graduate that drove ambulances in the ATS. Her talent was wasted on such a remedial duty and thus, through connections she had formed in ATS's Corp commander's office, she was selected for training within SOE. After a three months course(initially at Wanborough Manor, then Airisaig, Scotland for Commando training, and finally RAF Ringway for parachute training), she became an official member of Churchill's secret army. From here, her story diverges. She could possibly be sent to France to act as a liaison for French resistance cells or even form spy cells with other SOE agents deep within occupied territory. She could also be found in Bletchley Park as a linguist(or more nefarious, as a counterintelligence officer spying on fellow brits). I have also thought about playing her as an MI6 agent during the Cold War, but as you will see, I have another character for that!

Personality: Guinevere embodies the ideals of lawful neutral. She is guided by Judeo-Christian beliefs and enlightenment values, but the former has created a rift within her psyche as she struggles with the realities of her sexuality. Her current duties within the SOE has also made her insecure about her femininity, though for the most part, these thoughts are shoved into the back of her mind and covered by excuses. She is also a dreamer and tries to sees the best in people, but upon witnessing the truths of occupation, she has slowly began to wane in this aspect. A natural born leader, she has an uncanny talent to remain calm and serene under high stress situations. Professional almost to a fault, she will usually place the integrity of the mission over personal sentiments. Her weakness is her twin brother Cecil, someone whom she loves deeply and is indeed the only individual(not including future lover) she will sacrifice greatly for, even to the point of compromising her current task.

Desired Pairings: French Resistance member, fellow SOE agent, another woman in a military role

Writing sample: Gwendolyn Christie

((I currently don't have a detailed character sheet for her, since she is kind of new, but once I do, I will link it!))

Mariya Sirkova [Мария Петровна Сыркова]

Age:
Fluctuates between 24-27 depending on plot

Weight/Height: short and underweight like all my characters (49 kg, 162 cm)

Brief History: Born in Leningrad, Mariya grew up with her older brother Mikhail under the watchful eyes of the loving State. Her father, an officer and hero of the Great Patriotic War, capitlised on his fame and rose through the Party rank structure, eventually ending as a member of the nomenklatura and "owner" of several textile factories in Leningrad. His wife, a local party secretary and head nurse in one of Leningrad's many hospitals, had their son Mikhail in 1958 and four years later in 1962, had their daughter Mariya. Being the children of reputable party members, a great deal of pressure was placed on both Masha and Misha at a young age. While this added stress has no doubt left their requisite trauma on both youths and a sense of detachment from their caregivers, it has undoubtedly made both into the unique adults they are today. Masha was particularly ambitious and by age nine, she was a member of the Young Pioneer. By age fourteen, she was a cardholding member of the Komsomol and eventually at age twenty-four, she rose to the ranks of the CPSU.

Initially pursuing a career in medicine, she was commissioned into the Soviet Army as a junior medical doctor. However, through both luck and her own expressed interest, she was selected by her local Chekist to undergo training as a member of the Cheka. For another two years, she spent her life in the K1 intelligence school near Moscow learning the nuances of spycraft and secret police work. She found a knack for the activities of the Cheka and while initially hesitant to carry out some of the more nefarious activities associated with the KGB, peer pressure has since mellowed her out. Mariya is one of my more longer running characters and I have a lot of plots for her! She could either start early around the time when she began her career as a KGB agent or several years later as a more hardened and brutal officer. In addition, she could either be more inclined towards counterintelligence/secret police work or foreign intelligence! It is all plot dependent.

Personality: Aggressive and catty, Masha is not exactly the nicest individual to grace the planet. Her alignment is complicated and fluctuates depending on the plot, but in general, she floats between lawful evil(any plot set within the Soviet Union) and chaotic evil(any plot set outside the Union.) Raised predominantly on Soviet idealism, she is a staunch believer in the Party and the work of their forbearers, though she is also acutely aware of hidden criticism and whispered flaws. She will never express these opinions however, not even to the most trusted of friends(or lovers). There was a conscious once, we are all born with it, but hers has since taken on the form of hushed murmurs, idle suggestions whispered in the back of her mind as she commits deeds for the State and Party. Her will is incredibly strong and while she tells herself she is doing all this for the sake of her country, there is an unconfronted sense of satisfaction that comes with such activities. Despite all this however, she is only mortal and it is only a matter of time before she becomes completely drained of the life.

Desired Pairings: Another Chekist, Party members, foreign spies! (for that enemy x lover shenanigans)

Writing Sample: 7 January, 1983

((Her character sheet is technically done... heh but I need to fix it up a bit))
