Hybrid Abilities: Angel possesses superior speed and strength. He was also designed to be a combat pact leader; as such he has many Alpha male characteristics. He is an expert at hand to hand combat and all manner of small arms weapons.

Non-Vocational Skills and Hobbies: Angel enjoys most outdoors physical activities, from snorkelling, scuba diving and rockclimbing. He's recently taken up playing chess as a hobby.

There are two types of Hybrid, Type A and Type B.

Type A Hybrids, also often referred to as full hybrids have very strong animal characteristics, for example they're completely covered in fur, canine types might have a full muzzle, others might have very long tails, floppy ears, claws, etc…

Type B Hybrids have less of the obvious characteristics, they might only partially be covered in fur, or possibly even less. They could have a mostly human face, but with animal ears, teeth, etc. Type B hybrids might be able to pass as humans in certain conditions, but never under close scrutiny.


Quick Note: It is possible for older hybrids who have adapted well to life as a free being to have taken up a vocation. For example a military wolf hybrid could certainly be part of the security team, another private scientist hybrid could work as a nurse in the medical ward, etc…

Game Intro:

There is an island in the South Pacific, called Sanctuary Island, or simply Sanctuary. Very few people know this place even exists as the island isn't on any of the charts. What would surprise people even more is what's located on the island and the real reason why the Island is called Sanctuary. It is a closely guarded secret, thanks to a network of agents who work diligently around the world to keep it this way… To understand why the Sanctuary exists, one needs to know the history of this alternate earth…


Hybrid tech became popular in the early 21st century; it started with various military organizations around the world trying to cross humans with animals to make superior soldiers. Canines and vulpine of all shapes and sized were used for the crossing, though it didn't stop there. Stealthy animals like cats were also added to the mix, hoping to create soldiers specializing in subterfuge. It still didn't stop there as governments continued to push the envelope using many other types of animals as test subjects.

By 2025 it was discovered that some hybrids remained unstable and became a threat to friendly units or even the public at large. Following an emergency meeting if the UN a resolution was drafted abolishing the practice and the science and all nations signed on. Of course by the then the technology had reached the Corporations who had begun creating their own hybrids, mostly for domestic purposes as well as for pleasure and entertainment. Law enforcement agencies immediately cracked down on those corporations, forcing them to sell their products in the Black Market.

Of course by then public perception of hybrids soured. More often than not they were rounded up and placed in internment camps; some nations even went so far as to euthanize them. Life for hybrid became a hell on earth. Others, when located were simply lynched to death by the fearful public at large.


One man, a billionaire decided to create a safe haven for hybrids. A man with ties around the world, in particular in the Intelligence community; he set up a network that allowed him to rescue wayward hybrids and bring them to the island. The island provides a safe refuge for Hybrids to live in safety; where they are allowed to grow as individuals.



The History of Sanctuary:
When the secret of hybrid production was leaked and finally came to life there were many who tried to end it. One man, Damien Carter was a billionaire diplomat who worked for the UN and he fought to have all these programs terminated immediately, but his voice went unheard. It wasn't until a handful of Hybrids became unstable and killed innocents that other voices finally joined the chorus.

Finally, just like cloning technology the creation of hybrids was banned worldwide. Of course by then the damage was done, and in truth the practice continued on the black market. Eventually it fell to the UN to decide what was to be done with the many hybrids that still existed. Mr. Carter suggested creating a place where they could live out their lives in peace, but the general consensus was simply to incarcerate them, or in some cases, euthanize them.

So it was then that Mr. Carter retired from public life and seemingly disappeared. He owned a number of islands in the pacific, and ultimately he proceeded with plans to create Sanctuary in secret, in a secret location. He had contacts around the world and teamed up with a handful of likeminded individuals to pull together the means and the resources to make his dream a reality. But building the Sanctuary wasn't the end.

Using resources around the world he created an underground railroad that would allow Hybrids to disappear from the world, and be taken in secret to Sanctuary. Here, these hybrids would be educated and rehabilitated. They would be encouraged to grow beyond what they were created and in some cases programmed for.


The Island's Purpose:
The purpose of Sanctuary is simple. It's a place where Hybrids who have been either abandoned or hunted can come to and feel safe, receive an education or be rehabilitated. All life is sacred; hybrids did not choose this life, but they deserve the opportunity to live it out in a safe and nurturing environment.


The Island:
Sanctuary Island isn't a large island, but it's certainly large enough that someone could get lost for days if they wandered into the wilds by themselves. It's also a relatively young island, with the most predominant feature being a dormant volcano. The island has a perfectly hidden deep inlet harbour where a small village has sprouted up. Also inside the inlet is a large and beautiful white sandy beach.

The mountainous areas surrounding the north side of the island are perfect for rock climbing and hiking. Trail systems have been laid out, though the trek is not for the beginning hiker. Several waterfalls and rivers run along the island. While the expanse of jungle doesn't have any major predators (as far as it's known) it does have an abundance of wild life, including wild boars and turkeys. (Some hunting is permitted, but by permission only).

Now, the village is located at the harbour. Friends of the island's owner have settled here, and they operate the dock area and several have fishing boats. Other small enterprises have opened up, catering to the island's inhabitants, like a barbershop, a café and restaurant, a 'tiki-style' beachside bar and even a nightclub. Some farm land has been cleared out to the south of the village, and the soil has proven quite suitable for the purpose of growing foodstuffs and for raising some livestock. The goal, clearly would be for the island to be quite self-sufficient, but it's not quite there yet.

A road leads from the village past the farmsteads to the actual Hybrid complex. The complex is set in a beautiful valley, and the area around it has been cleared making way for walking trails and sports and activity fields. The grounds are always very well kept and there's even a grotto style pond fed from one of the island's larger rivers and an underground spring.

The structure itself is made of modern architecture, built to withstand cyclones and tornadoes. There's an administration wing, a scientific/medical wing, a leisure wing and of course the Hybrid wing to house the many hybrids that have been brought to the island.

Name: Hiro Wantanabe
Species: Hybrid, type A
Age: considered a full-grown adult even though he is 10 years old. If this is against forum rules then he can be considered 25.
Vocation: created by a private party, Jessica Wantanabe, for personal entertainment purposes. Currently is trying to be hired on to Sanctuary security, but nobody takes him seriously.
Base description: Hiro is a red panda/human hybrid, and has the typical red, super-fluffy fur of a red panda, with white markings on the face and a black underbelly. He has large fluffy ears and a short snout, and a huge, extremely fluffy striped tail. He is 5'10, average human height, and had red/brown eyes. Here are some red panda pictures for visualization. He doesn't look very much like the furry pictures, those are just for visualization.

Hybrid abilities: they only hybrid abilities Hiro has are small retractable claws, enhanced sense of smell and hearing, as well as tactile whiskers and hairs. He can also see in the dark.
Non-vocational skills and hobbies: Hiro has dedicated his life to martial arts and fitness, even though his musculature physique is almost completely hidden by his fuzzy coat, and with no imposing characteristics, no security agencies or monasteries will accept him as a combat specialist.
Hiro was created by a private company at the request of a rich woman by the name of Jessica Wantanabe. He was created as, basically, a sex slave, and even though he was raised by Jessica, he knew what she was doing to him was wrong. He managed to teach himself several martial arts while in captivity, and eventually escaped when the military invaded Wantanabe's home in an attempt to catch and eliminate Hiro. He lived on his own for about five years, mastering the use of countless weapons and perfecting his skills in numerous defensive and offensive arts. He was recently outed from the slums he'd taken residence in when the 'landlord' discovered his hybrid nature. The military attempted to neutralize him, but Sanctuary forces apprehended him and brought him to the island for safekeeping.
